My most highly anticipated read! This teaser was phenomenal! I can't wait to read the entire novel. I missed these characters more than I realized.

An intriguing start to the new book in the series! I haven't reread Cerulean since it was released, so I was a little worried that I would be lost reading this excerpt. Thankfully that wasn't the case, and I was transported back into the magical world that Klune has created. Looking forward to the release date!

This excerpt from SOMEWHERE BEYOND THE SEA thrusts us with splendid vigor back into the world of magic, wonder, and familial emotion we love on Marsyas Island! In approximately 70 pages, TJ Klune brings joy and humor like only he can, embodied by his fantastical writing and endearing characters; but he also brings intrigue, mystery, and a sense of foreboding that casts a shadow on the happy life our characters are leading together as a family unit.

The children’s agency seems to be a thread that Klune will explore deeply in this novel, along with a continued focus on making hard decision to fight and stand firm in one’s values when fear and escape seem to be the easiest option.

I can’t wait to read the rest of this book when the full manuscript is made available! Thank you to Tor Books for the opportunity to get a preview of this excerpt and for sparking joy in me like no other world can - can’t wait to journey with you all beyond the cerulean sea!

I didn't realise this was only the excerpt but it was a tease of greatness. I cannot wait to have my hands on the whole thing.

I am really excited to have received an ARC of TJ Klune’s Somewhere Beyond the Sea from netgalley. The novel is a sequel to the House on Cerulean Sea and follows all of our favorite characters as they work to change the way that the world sees magical beings. Both Arthur and Linus have the kindest of hearts and those hearts are reflected in the love they have for their magical orphans.

The sequel brings light to the trauma of Arthur’s childhood and the reasons behind his fierce love and protectiveness for his children. It also sheds light on the more corrupt aspects of the government as well as the people who are willing to help change that system. Great read and I absolutely recommend.

Somewhere Beyond the Sea is the second book in the Cerulean Chronicles. In this book Linus and Arthur are asked to attend a hearing where Arthur is to discuss his past in a Dycomy ran home. Arthur has finally decided to step out of his safe home to tell the world about his life only the odds seem to be stacked against him. Not only is his future on the line, but the future of the children he cares for as well. Will Dycomy ruin this budding family or will Arthur be able to change the minds of the many about magical humans?

I don’t know if this is common for Klune’s work but the first parts of his books seem to be slow rolling. This is my third Kline book and I’m noticing the pattern. I’m not fully convinced the payoff is worth it yet. I’m certainly feeling 50/50 on whether I will be interested in completing this book. I’ll wait to see what other reviews say once it’s published. Currently, I would give the beginning of this book 3/5 stars. Not bad! Just very Klune.

This snippet of the upcoming novel left me dying to read on! I am so eager to meet the new student, and to hear Arthur's experiences play out with upper management. I've fallen madly in love with the characters- the children, Linus, the island. The beauty of the LGBTQ community being normalized and not criticized, the little nuggets of wisdom and hope to inspire those who are "different". I loved the excerpt I read, and I cannot wait to read the remainder. Bravo TJ Klune!

If you are a fan of the House in the Cerulean Sea, you will love this book! As book 2, it revisits some of the favorite characters and places. After reading book 1, I was in love with all of the characters and I found the book so heartwarming. This book was exactly the same. I was hooked from the first few pages! Please read this one… you won’t be disappointed!

House in the Cerulean Sea is beloved for good reason, and am always nervous to pick up a sequel to a book that feels so perfect on its own. There was no need for hesitation, however. Reading the prologue to Somewhere Beyond the Sea feels like coming home. These first chapters, filled with familiar characters and new adventure, have me counting down the hours until the full release date. I already recommend House in the Cerulean Sea to my older students, and I know many of them will be excited to hear that a sequel is immenent.

I really enjoyed this excerpt! All of the warm, nostalgic feelings I had while reading The House in the Cerulean Sea came flooding back in reading the first few of chapters of this sequel. The dialogue from the children was as surprising and hilarious as ever. It did feel a bit repetitive from the last book, but the central conflict was seemingly being introduced as this sample wrapped up. I will definitely be reading this when it comes out and and anticipating a read that evokes all the affectionately, ferociously protective feelings of THITCS.

This excerpt only makes you want more. You are immediately back with Arthur Parnassus and Linus Baker and all the magical children. I can’t to see whats happens as they face this new hurdle together – standing up and fighting the right to live freely.
Thank you to NetGalley and Tor Publishing Group for this DRC.

When I realized this was only an excerpt, I felt robbed! Trying to summon the inner patience to wait for the rest come September.

I feel so incredibly grateful to get more from this wonderful family! These children give me so much joy, I could burst. Can't wait to read the rest of the story.

I'm so excited I could cry. I need MORE. The excerpt is so great but it made me sad because I have to wait to read the full thing. Klune is such an incredible writer, this is going to be a knockout.

The House in the Cerulean Sea is one of my top 10 favorite books and this excerpt was so much like reading the first book. The magical children are my favorite. I like how different they all are and the things they say make me laugh out loud. I'm glad to be able to read about the events that happen after the first book. This book begins when Arthur is invited to testify about the treatment of magical beings and Linus accompanies him to the city. The children are being left on the island with Zoe and Mayor Helen.

This looks to be as delightful as The House in The Cerulean Sea. I can’t wait to read all of it and hopefully learn what has happened to all of the original characters!
