This excerpt was so sweet. I'm really looking forward to the full book!! I love Arthur and Linus, and seeing Arthur try to save kids from the same horrible childhood he had is so wonderful. Can't wait until September!

Absolutely amazing!! I was worried at first this book would not live up to the standards of the others. It did not - it SURPASSED them! I cannot wait for the full length book to come out!!

I absolutely loved House in the Cerulean Sea and I am so excited all my favorite characters are back. I was hooked from the beginning and I can't wait to read the full thing!
Thank you to NetGalley and Tor Publishing Group for the ARC of this except from Somewhere Beyond the Sea.

I was disappointed to realize that this was only an excerpt of the novel but I’m still very excited for the full book! Based on the initial pages, it seems as if this will be another phenomenal book!

House in the Cerulean Sea had me at the cover but it's so much more. I've recommended it over and over, its just a feel good read. My hopes for Somewhere Beyond the Sea were set high. This excerpt is a tease, but reminds me of the beautiful journey TJ Klune takes his readers on. The imagery and creative language just floats you as a reader. Enjoy the experience. I'm looking forward to reading the full version of this one.

The feeling when you request your most anticipated book of the year from NetGalley and you get approved…but it was an excerpt, not the entire book.
TJ Klune’s books, “The House in the Cerulean Sea” and “Under the Whispering Door,” were both my absolute favorites the years they were published. And when I heard he was planning a sequel to “Cerulean,” I was so excited. That book truly is like a gigantic hug.
The excerpt I read was (I think) the first few chapters, and if the remainder of the book is even half as good, I know what my favorite book of 2024 will be. The themes of unconditional love, found family, finding your own joy, and protecting those you love shined through these chapters, and I felt myself smiling and getting choked up already.
Sadly, as Tom Petty once said, the waiting is the hardest part. And it sure will be hard to wait until 9/10 for the book to be published. But the thought of getting to spend more time with Arthur, Linus, Lucy, Phee, Chauncey, Theodore, and Talia will help the days fly! #iykyk
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Tor Books for the gift of the excerpt. You can bet I’ll keep checking for the full book!!

I loved this excerpt so much! I had missed the characters and TJ's writing so was eager to read this and see what it was going to be about. I have already pre-ordered my copy but hope to read an advanced copy since I enjoyed his first book about The House SO much! What a wonderful story! I love Arthur and Linus and their love story so much. It was fun to welcome the characters back into my world.

My literal only problem with this is that it's an excerpt. Klune clearly knows what he's doing, diving in quickly with the characters that we all fell in love with. I cannot wait until September and the rest of the book is available.

All I can say is this is an awesome sequel and I enjoyed every moment. If you like HOTCS, you will like this.

The House in the Cerulean Sea was one of my favorite reads, so when I found out there was another book about Linus and Arthur I was overjoyed. I loved getting to know the island and its start in this book. I can’t wait to read more about Arthur’s journey. This excerpt was the perfect taster and I cannot wait to read the rest.

TJ Klune’s writing is truly wonderful. This book (excerpt), along with the first, is whimsical with an engaging plot and well developed characters. I love this magical story and world. I feel like I know Arthur, Linus, and the children so well, as TJ vividly describes them and pulls you into their lives.
If you loved the first in this series, you’re going to love this one too!
Thank you for sending me the excerpt! It was fun to see all the characters again.

All the stars! I was so excited when I heard that TJ Klune had written a sequel to The House in the Cerulean Sea. I love that book and all of the characters, and I’m so excited to revisit them in this book.
My only complaint is that this is just an excerpt with only the first four chapters, but so far I am hooked.

To be clear, this ARC was for an excerpt ONLY. I received the first four chapters of this wonderful book as an ARC.
I absolutely adored The House in the Cerulean Sea, so I was ecstatic to learn TJ would be writing a sequel. I truly didn’t want their stories to be finished, and I’m so glad TJ thought the same.
This excerpt was beautiful, true to TJ’s typical writing, and picked up right back where we left off in Cerulean. Arthur and Linus together with those wonderful children, endearing readers to them once again.
Chapter four ends right as Arthur plans to speak at the DICOMY about his magical children, and already you can tell there’s tension, a possible battle over morals, and a whole lot more in store. I can’t wait to read the remainder of the novel and feel all the feels.

Going back into the breathtaking world of Beyond the Cerulean Sea with Arthur, Linus and the children is a treat! Arthur is ready to share his story with the world but not everyone believes he and the children should be allowed to exist. The first four chapters left me desperate for more!

Words cannot express my excitement for "Somewhere Beyond the Sea." The moment I finished "The House in the Cerulean Sea," I knew I would never read anything like it, and it immediately became my favorite book of all time. The excerpt was a wonderful dip back into the magical world Klune created.

Oh it’s so nice to see old friends again!
I can’t wait to see what the children will do? Learn more about Arthur’s past, and meet new characters to fall in love with.

Of course, I knew I was going to love this and I did! TJ Klune has some of the most beautiful stories and writing that I've ever read! While I wish I could've read more of this story, I know that it is going to be just as stunning, meaningful, and as touching as the first book!

The way that I'm salivating for the rest of this. It's was so much fun to be back in this world and see these characters again--I can't wait for to read the full thing!

I absolutely adore TJ Klune and the worlds he brings to life. This excerpt from his upcoming book was no different. My singular complaint was that I didn’t want to stop reading it.

As expected, this is an excellent start to what I’m sure is going to be an incredible book. I wish I had more than 4 chapters - I easily devoured them. TJ Klune has a way with words that makes the reader feel deeply immersed and deeply connected.
