Thank you so much to NetGalley and Tor Publishing Group for the excerpt of Somewhere Beyond the Sea. Just when I thought it wasn't possible to get more excited about this follow-up, I read the excerpt, and I am counting down to read more! I loved where the story is going and cannot wait to continue to hear the story from Arthur's POV. I've already preordered a copy and cannot wait to read it!

As someone who LOVED House in the Cerulean Sea, I couldn’t wait to come back to Marsyas Island and Somewhere Beyond the Sea did not disappoint. I couldn’t put the book down and found myself laughing, crying and just feeling genuinely connected to the characters all the way through. David the Yeti is wonderful, Chauncey is somehow even more of a delight than in the first book, and Sal’s character growth will move you to tears. I can’t wait until this book comes out so I can buy copies for all my friends!

4.5 Stars (for the excerpt)!

For a 4 chapter teaser, this really did deliver the goods.

I smiled. I laughed. I already shed a few tears.

So anyone familiar with this author should not be surprised by this. I obviously look forward to Klune’s latest release come September 10th!!

Thank you to the author and Tor Publishing Group via NetGalley for this sneak peek!

*Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an arc excerpt in exchange of an honest review*

4 ⭐️ for the excerpt and my excitement for the rest of the book!

I was lucky enough to read the prologue and first 4 chapters of this long awaited sequel to The House in the Cerulean Sea!

What a sneak peak this was. Every chapter had me tearing up and smiling already! The story picks up in familiar territory and the plot reveals itself right away. The writing had so many memorable moments already and it was only the first 4 chapters. I can’t wait for the book to release so I can pick up where I left off and see what else is in store for Arhur, Linus, and all the kids 💗

A magical follow up to The House in the Cerulean Sea. I was overjoyed to be given this excerpt and will without a doubt be buying this book to add to my collection.

I can’t wait to keep reading!

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced excerpt.

I am so bummed that this eARC is only the first four chapters because I am salivating at the thought of reading the rest of this book. I love TJ Klune's writing and this does not disappoint, immediately transporting the reader back to the familiar setting and cast of characters. The blatant discussion of prejudice comes at the right time. I cannot wait for this book to come out so I can finish this amazing book. Pre-ordering a copy NOW!

Thank you to TOR Publishing Group and Net Galley for the eARC!

WOW. This excerpt not only provides a tantalizing glimpse into Arthur's poignant backstory but also sets the stage for an exhilarating adventure that promises to be even more profound than its predecessor. As Arthur and Linus prepare to confront the Council of Utmost Importance, the stakes are higher than ever, leaving readers on the edge of their seats in anticipation of what's to come.

With its blend of humor, heart, and captivating storytelling, "Somewhere Beyond the Sea" is sure to delight fans of "The House in the Cerulean Sea" and newcomers alike. I, for one, cannot wait to embark on this magical journey when the book is released on September 10th.

Ok I am so excited!! This excerpt takes you right back to all the characters you love, with a big focus on Arthur, the home’s Master. In the first book we find out that Arthur also has magical powers, and in this book we will better understand where Arthur came from, and what happened in his younger years that led him to where he is today. I LOVE neuro psych and learning about what makes someone the person they are, particularly after a traumatic (in the broadest of senses) upbringing and even though Arthur is a fictional character, I know Klune is going to point at all those clues in the best way possible. I cannot wait to get the rest of this book!

*I got this ARC from Netgalley, though this is just an excerpt from Somewhere Beyond The Sea. *
The band of characters in The House In The Cerulean Sea and this sequel bring me so much joy. I love the world TJ Klune has created. These stories carry so much meaning and emotion. This excerpt has me thirsting for more and even more anxious for September.

Thank you @torbooks, @netgalley, and TJ Klune for the opportunity to read this excerpt! If you want to send me the rest I would be more than happy to read it early!

The House in the Cerulean Sea was one of my very favorite books of 2023. I was so thrilled to received the first few chapters of the book from NetGalley.
These few chapters brought a smile on my face and all of the emotions back so soon. I’m so thrilled the children are back as I adored each of their personalities.

This story is from Arthur’s POV and his story. Arthur is summoned by to make a testimony of his dark past. He is fighting for the future of his family and all of the magical people.

I cannot wait to read the rest of the story. I know I’m going to love it so much and it’s going to make me just as emotional as the first. I do hate that I have to wait for the rest!!

I received a sample (first 5 chapters) of this book to review through NetGalley.

If you enjoy Klune, you’ll love this book. The humor is there, the detailed and relatable characters are back and then some, the initial plot moves quickly which makes it easy to get into. This book almost feels like cozy fantasy in the beginning. The conflict in the story seems to revolve around the government driven injustice towards magical people. It seems like a relevant and logical way to expand the story.

I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the story and seeing where the story goes.

As soon as I began I was immediately transported back to the world I hadn’t realized I missed so much. The quirky characters and their stories jump off the page, they are so dynamic and enjoyable. I am beyond excited for the full book and can’t wait to read more about this cast and their adventures.

I truly enjoyed The House in the Cerulean Sea and was excited to see an excerpt available for its sequel. Somewhere Beyond the Sea is written well and takes the reader right back to the house with magical children. I was drawn in immediately and the end of the excerpt left me wanting to read more. All of the characters are so lovely and the author uses great imagery and imagination in his writing. I cannot wait to get a copy of Somewhere Beyond the Sea to see where the rest of the story leads.

This excerpt is a treat. It felt like coming home after a long hard day. The House In the Cerulean Sea is one of my favorite books of all time and getting to visit the characters again felt so good. I absolutely love the kids personalities and the birt party was so perfect in every way. I can’t wait for the full release of this book

Fabulous already!! I missed the word "excerpt" when I requested the book, so imagine my disappointment when I got to the end of Chapter 4 and that was all there was. I dove right back into the world of Arthur and Linus and all the children, and reading this short bit has made me even more excited for the whole book to be released later this year. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC!

I have been eagerly awaiting this book and getting this sneak peak only made me even more excited! It took no time to feel right at home with Arthur, Linus and the kids. I'm so intrigued about where this story is going to go and what developments will take place. I can't wait to get my hands on the whole book!

I recently read the The House in the Cerulean Sea and absolutely loved it. When I found out I was able to read an excerpt of the second book, I became giddy as all get out!!

Reading Somewhere Beyond the Sea really brought me back to another world; a fun and beautiful one. I am so glad to see the children are still being bright, funny, and wonderful! I absolutely LOVED the birthday scene (aka BIRT)! I thought it was so adorable and hilarious. Was truly my favorite part of the excerpt. Definitely got left on a cliffhanger, so I cannot WAIT to read the rest.

I'll be waiting on pins and needles until the full book is released.

Was I bummed that this wasn't the full book? Yes. So much. Because how am I supposed to wait four more months now?!?! I am so excited to see what else happens after this excerpt and already know this will be a top fave of the year. So happy to be heading back into this world with these endearing characters.

This Review is only based upon the excerpt provided by NetGally and the Publisher for approximately 70 pages of digital content.
I cannot wait for the full length release of this book if the excerpt is a brief glimpse. Not only do we get to glimpse Arthur as he returns to the house before he and his found family reestablish the strange orphanage by turning old wounds into new and magical memories; we see the present, and Arthur, Linus, and the magical children and new obstacles they now have to work through to protect themselves and their home. We may only get a few peeks into what the true journey may be and what will unfold, but I cannot wait to see how resilient they are when fighting for the ones they love.

I am absolutely giving this excerpt 5* because I am so excited to finish reading the rest. September cannot come soon enough!
