A twisty, suspense-filled thriller that kept me guessing until the end. The tension built perfectly, and Amy Christine Parker delivered characters I couldn’t stop suspecting. Fast-paced and impossible to put down — such a fun ride!

I enjoyed this one! I liked the characters and the mystery was really well done. The pacing was good, and I was flying through the book. The writing style was easy to follow along with, and I had fun trying to piece together the mystery.

Ruby was an interesting character. I wasn’t sure about her at first, but I liked her character growth. I thought she was realistic and relatable, and I liked how she included her friends in her investigating.

The side characters really helped to make this book. There was so much drama, but I liked how it helped to play into some of the bigger elements of the mystery. I really liked how Anton, Xavier and Alexander helped Ruby, and the group dynamic was good.

The ghost aspect was super creepy and also exciting. Every time Ruby had a vision it was intense and chilling and I liked seeing the little things that were changing with each one.

CWs: violence, death of an animal (FMC owns and works at an animal park in the Everglades), murder, cheating, suicide

I read and reviewed an eARC gifted by the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Um. Okay. So. After reading the first 3 chapters, I knew that this book was not going to be for me. For starters, this is the type of that feels as though the synopsis pretty much tells the reader exactly what is going to happen. There may be some interesting twists but nothing that isn’t unpredictable. Secondly, this book appears to be disguised as a revenge/vengeance type of read when really this entire book feels like bullying. Within the first 3 chapters, the FMC, Ruby, gets harassed by the popular crowd and turns around and ruins their lives via social media. Instead of revenge/vengeance, we have a tit-for-tat story. And lastly, none of these characters really stood out nor motivated me to want to read this. When I requested this ARC, I thought it was going be revenge/dark academia, not some messy boots type of situations. Nope. I am good. On to the next ARC.

Thank you NetGalley and Delacorte Press for granting me an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book in exchange for my honest and personal opinion!!!

I was nit expecting half if what happened in this book to happen.
I enjoyed this twisty book. a lot of drama and scandals were going on. It wasn't so much the whole town. Just a few of the residents. Some I didn't even expect had these crazy secrets. I liked that it kept me guessing on some of it. Ruby is a good character and very likeable and her friends are even better. What starts out as a well who wants me dead thing turns into why are they really wanting to get rid of Ruby. I wish her mother would have listened to her a little bit more though at the start. Not when something happened. And I also wish she would have talked with a certain student and then I dunno. I didn't like Daphne though or her mother. They just were to off putting no matter what. I think I liked that there was another secret within a secret in this book. Was not expecting that. Now the thing I didn't care to much for was the describing the ghost of Ruby everytime, and I get it a new dress in all. But I would have been okay with just saying this new prom dress and such.
Anyhow this is a great quick read.

I saw this book pitched as Gossip Girl meets Happy Death Day and was immediately interested. This is a great YA mystery with a super intriguing premise. There were a lot of characters to keep up with and the story felt very busy at times, but it was still enjoyable.

You're Dead to Me by Amy Christine Parker was pitched as "Gossip Girl meets Happy Death Day," but it unfortunately fell a little short of that promise. The ideas were there, but the execution left a lot to be desired. I won't be recommending this one, but I won't count the author out on future projects either.

Teens are mean. So are adults.

This was a really good YA thriller. For fans of the movie Happy Death Day, this book gave me similar vibes. When Ruby sees her "ghost" wearing the prom dress her friend made for her, she realizes someone is out to get her and Prom night will be the night she dies....unless she can somehow change her fate, but everything she does, doesn't seem to work, for her ghost keeps showing up. Ruby with her friends realize they need to find Ruby's killer before she dies! The twists in this book were really good, some I saw coming and others I did not. Thank you netgalley for an Arc of this book for an honest review.

When Ruby sees the ghost of herself, she knows that she is going to die on prom night, and with her whole town turned against her, it could be any number of people who kill her; however, she is going to do everything in her power to save herself. Parker did such a great job of mixing paranormal into this murder mystery–it is something that could have gone extremely wrong, but instead if added tension to this already intense book, elevating it and making it unique. I loved how the book was crafted, the characters in the book, the ending… everything. It was truly a rollercoaster read!

Thank you so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc of this one in exchange for an honest review!

Unfortunately, this book was not for me. There were too many characters and not one of them was likeable. I also just felt bored and didn’t really care about the story.

I hope others love this one.

You're Dead to Me by Amy Christine Parker is a gripping YA thriller packed with scandal, secrets, and ghostly twists. Ruby, our sharp-eyed protagonist, uses her camera and social media to expose her elite classmates—until her ruthless approach backfires spectacularly. The unique twist of Ruby encountering her own ghost, who warns her of impending doom, adds thrilling suspense and urgency to the narrative.

While the "not like other girls" vibe initially felt a bit forced, the story quickly found its rhythm with clever humor and engaging subplots. Structured neatly by days of the week, this book kept me hooked, especially through the intense last quarter of this book.. Overall, an exciting and satisfying read that effectively tackles themes of judgment and consequence.

Amy Christine Parker’s You’re Dead to Me is an electrifying YA thriller that combines supernatural horror with sharp social commentary. The story follows Ruby, a high school senior on scholarship at the elite Oleander Bay Academy, who secretly runs a TikTok account, @ReputationKiller, exposing the dark secrets of her wealthy classmates. When Ruby is outed as the account’s creator, she becomes the target of widespread animosity. Things take a terrifying turn when Ruby encounters her own ghost in a blood-soaked prom dress, warning her that she has less than a week to solve her murder before it happens.

Parker masterfully weaves together elements of suspense, horror, and high school drama. The novel’s fast-paced narrative is filled with twists and jump scares that keep readers hooked until the very end. 4 stars – A thrilling ride through secrets, friendships, and Florida’s eerie swamps

You’re Dead to Me by Amy Christine Parker offers a compelling blend of mystery, supernatural elements, and personal growth. The novel’s unique setting in an old Florida-style alligator park adds an atmospheric backdrop that enhances the story’s creepy undertones.

Ruby’s journey from the anonymous gossip behind the ReputationKiller account to a young woman confronting her own flaws is both engaging and thought-provoking. Her character development is well-crafted, allowing readers to empathize with her mistakes and cheer for her redemption. The inclusion of her loyal friends, Xavier and Anton, brings depth to the narrative, showcasing the importance of genuine connections amidst turmoil.

The plot weaves together ghostly apparitions and a lurking serial killer, creating a suspenseful atmosphere that keeps readers on edge. While some twists are predictable, the overall execution maintains interest and delivers a satisfying experience.

Parker’s ability to intertwine personal growth with thrilling elements makes You’re Dead to Me a noteworthy addition to the YA horror genre. It’s a story that not only entertains but also prompts reflection on the impact of our actions on others.

This book claims it is a “ Gossip Girl meets Happy Death Day” style book, and I think that is actually the perfect representation. It’s got the characters that you love and hate, with enough storyline and suspense to keep you reading.

Main character Ruby encounters her own ghost blood soaked in a prom dress. At first she doesn’t take it serious, but as deaths start to happen around her, she worries that her own ghost is representative of her fate come prom night. Ruby is outed as the one behind the local anonymous gossip blog and secrets meant to stay secret are out. Ruby races around to figure out the truth about her ghost and what is going on around her, but someone will do whatever they can to stop her.

While a little juvenile, I certainly enjoyed this book. It’s an easy read and very suspenseful. Would recommend to friends.

If you're looking for an interesting YA supernatural thriller, this will fit! You're Dead to Me is an interesting mix of ghosts, murder suspects, and teenage drama. There were a lot of plates to juggle here, and in the end the author did a good job of bringing them all together. There was a point early on that I was questioning what I was reading, but please push past that.
There were some elements that were strange to me... like why does Ruby not live with her mother? Instead it's like all of these high school kids are living on their own or in hotels?!

Overall it was a good mix. I give it 3.5 stars, rounding up to 4.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Children's for this early copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
