The Fan is a great creation in this modern celebrity obsessed culture. The efforts of the protagonist to solve the kidnapping are at times nail biting and the author does a good job of really taking the reader into the guys of the investigation,

Two well liked celebrities go missing. US Marshalls are called to investigate. Someone known as the Fan is behind the kidnapping. CEOs of major broadcasting networks are dying. A very surprising conclusion.

I really enjoyed this book, it held my attention all the way through, in fact so much so that I could not put it down. A book that has you guessing right up to nearly the end, in my eyes, is a five star book. The story line has enough murder and confusion to keep you guessing, some red herrings thrown in for good measure makes sure that you will not have an easy time guessing who is responsible. The characters are old and new, I loved meeting Mak for the first time and she makes a good partner with Stephen, even though there are some heated moments. I have never been disappointed by any of Addison Michael's books and this one is no exception.
If you like a good thriller then I suggest that you read this book, you won't be disappointed. Looking forward to the next one in the series,

This was a great start to the Mak and Wilton Crime Thriller series, it had everything that I was looking for in a Hollywood thriller. The overall concept worked well with everything that I was looking for and thought the plot worked. It was tense and had me guessing from start to finish. I enjoyed the way Addison Michael wrote this and left me wanting more in this series.

This book has excellent characters and the storytelling is very good. The plot is a little original, but also quite strange and naive. Easy and entertaining to read.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and finished it fairly quickly. If I do not find a book enjoyable, I tend not to finish it. I think the author has an interesting writing style and I liked the principal characters. The story was also compelling. That said, there were a few holes in the plot that I found distracting and which prevented me from enjoying it more. These may just be my own issues, but I tend to be detail oriented and know just enough about law enforcement to be dangerous...
The interaction between the US Marshalls who are the principal characters and the chief of Police for Manhattan and the FBI director strain credibility. I am pretty good at suspending disbelief, but the degree to which the police chief and FBI director got personally involved in field investigations just seemed too implausible to me. It would have been easy enough to substitute lower level personnel without impacting the story line, which would have worked better, at least for me. I also felt that there were some major things that seemed to go uninvestigated until the end, when the principals decided they had missed something important. No kidding!
All the above notwithstanding, the author is clearly talented and the number of books they have had published indicates that my quibbles are not shared by many.

I thoroughly enjoyed this detective novel. When two superstars are kidnapped two U.S. Marshalls are called in to investigate.

They identify the most likely suspect and set off to find her, knowing that when they find her, they will find the couple.

After a surprise, things take a turn and a deeper dive and the kidnapping's logistics reveals more plot twists. I totally didn't see the ending coming.

I have tried not to give away any of the plot here as it is so delicious to read it yourself.

The book kept me engaged from beginning to end and I look forward to more books from this author.
