Book four of the series but the first for me. Twenty years after the disappearance of her mother at the Harmon ranch Ally has come looking for answers. Harmon cousin Tucker agrees to help her and she'll need it. Someone is out to kill her. Good murder mystery.

This suspenseful, hard-to-put-down read concludes the wonderful Cowboy Protectors series. I love this series that follows the lives and loves of the Harmon cousins of Jessup, Texas. This is Tucker Harmon’s story. Danger abounds as Tucker and Ally seek to find the truth about the disappearance of Ally’s mother 20 years ago. Well placed plot twists and a couple of major shocking revelations heighten the suspense. Sweet romance takes a back seat to the action but adds interest. The characters are realistic and easy to connect with. It was great to reconnect with the other Harmon cousins and see how they all come together as a family to help Tucker and Ally. I appreciate the gentle faith thread with reminders about trusting God. I highly recommend this book and the series as must reads for Inspirational Romantic Suspense fans! Note: Each book in the series can be easily read as a standalone.
I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher with no obligation to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Twenty years ago, Ally Fulton's mother vanished. Raised by her aunt, who has now passed away, Ally returns to Jessup to delve into her mother's mysterious disappearance. While searching the Harmon ranch, she is shot. Tucker Harmon, the grandson of the ranch's previous owner and a police officer on leave from Dallas, hears the gunshot, finds Ally, and rushes her to the hospital. He becomes entangled in her quest for the truth. The local sheriff, Tucker's cousin, is unaware of the details of the cold case. As danger looms over Ally, she and Tucker join forces to uncover the perpetrator behind her mother's disappearance.
Great story.

Fasten your seatbelts….this is going to be an intense ride! Ms. Vaughn knows action and mystery. From the opening scene to the very end, this story captures your attention with each page you turn. I couldn’t put it down! So many interesting twists and turns in the development and solving of this 20 year old cold case.
I really liked Tucker and Ally as the love interest/couple of this story. Both not looking for love and have had some traumatic backgrounds/upbringings that bring the two together and allows each other to better relate to one another. Although the romance is not very romantic, there were several sweet and tender moments between them as they got to know one another in solving her mother’s case. I admire the Harmon family - cousins and all - coming together to do what is right and solve the cold case.
A very well written story and characters. I enjoyed the faith elements woven throughout the story as well. It is not quite full on insta-love but it is a pretty quick relationship development over a short amount of time. This book really is more 4.5 stars ⭐️ and my only honest complaint is I felt there was no good wrap up in the epilogue on Tucker’s case that originally brought him back home. I would’ve liked to see a victory/win there.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and Harlequin - Romance Publishing for the advanced copy. All my thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

A good cold case mystery. Woman finds more than the killer of her mother. She also discovers love. Nicely told story. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
Ally is searching for answers regarding her mother’s death but when she gets too close to answers, she finds herself being targeted and someone wants her dead.

Easy read and one filled with suspense and a quick romance.

Hot Damn! This was a wild ride! I love a good mystery thriller book with a Dash of romance. Our FMC is searching for clues to her mothers murder and goes on a wild goose chase to find clues. However someone is trying very hard to make sure she doesn't figure out who killed her mum.
I enjoyed this book, the plot kept me interested, the characters were well thought out and the writing was top notch!
I would recommend this book to my followers and friends.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC

Twenty years after her mother disappeared, Ally Fulton returns to the place where she believes she was last seen - Harmon Ranch. But there is a problem - the Harmon family has money and is known to hush the townspeople and law enforcement. As Ally sets to dig up the truth she suddenly finds herself in danger and who comes to her aid? Tucker Harmon - an injured officer who is recovering at his grandfather's ranch. Can the two work together to uncover long ago secrets before those trying to stop them succeed?

"Texas Ranch Cold Case" is a Christian romantic suspense. Ally acted like a teenager with no relationship experience and little maturity. She's determined to hate all Harmons because her mother disappeared from their ranch 20 years ago. She resented that people weren't giving the case serious attention. Tucker helped her find the available information, but it happened so long ago there's not much to go on. When a recent murder appeared to be linked to the cold case, Tucker and the police turned their focus to it since it had active clues to track down. Instead of being happy that the case might finally be solved, she completely rejected Tucker for his 'betrayal.' She didn't want to see or talk with him ever again, even though his protection was the only thing keeping her alive after multiple attempts to kill her. The mystery was interesting, but Ally's immaturity didn't seem consistent since she's an otherwise responsible adult with a job as a teacher. Yet somehow she inspired Tucker's unwavering love.
Ally learned to trust God even before she got her answers, because of who God is rather than for what He gives. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this to fans of cold case mysteries.

this is a riveting story to the end. ally has come back to find out what happened to her mother. but she is attacked right after arriving. someone does not want her to find out what happened but who and why very good story to the end. i was given a copy of the book by net galley but this is an honest review.

This book was amazing! I loved the characters and the plot was very well written. The writer is very talented and the story was very interesting.

Good fast paced story. I enjoyed it. Reminded me of a tv movie. I enjoyed the suspense and the mystery of who committed the crime. The romance story was to be expected but nice.

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the fourth book in the Cowboy Protectors series. I have read the first three books in this series before picking up this book. This is also the last book in this series. This book is filled with action and suspense, and I was living for all of it. There is a little bit of romance, but not much at all. I really loved the characters in this book, and I felt the connection that the two main characters had. I really loved the ending of this book, and the twists and turns were so great. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

This is a Harlequin Love Inspired suspense. Heroine is a teacher who has been trying to investigate on her own what happened to her mother 20 years ago when she vanished and never to be heard again. She believes her mom is dead and so goes to the ranch she was last working at with a metal detector in hopes to find her body but someone shoots her in the arm and Hero who was shot during a SWAT mission is recouping at his ranch (he owns it with his cousins) and comes to her rescue. Together they try to find the person who shot her, as well as her Mother.
It’s a standard suspense theme that really holds nothing new in terms of plot, but I had a hard time liking heroine. She came across as too annoying for me and I found the MCs lacked chemistry. As for the suspense, it was clear to me from the start who the culprit was and I was not surprised to find I wasn’t wrong..
I received an advanced copy for an honest opinion and want to thank NetGalley and Publisher for allowing me to read it.

I enjoyed the twist and turns in this book that kept me guessing. Filled with suspense and action, I found it hard to put down. I recommend this book if you love being a detective, trying to figure out the “who done it” and seek the thrill of the ups and downs of emotions as you are carried along in the storyline. This book is scheduled to be released June 25, 2024. I was given a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher. All words are my own.

Ally moves back to the town where her mother went missing 20 years ago, in an attempt to uncover the truth of what happened to her. She returns to the scene of the crime—a ranch owned by the family of the man she thinks committed the murder—only to be shot herself. Rescued by Tucker, one of the grandsons, she begins to get some help on her mom's cold case.
Tucker is back in town and doesn't have many good memories of his grandfather. While he has a hard time believing his grandfather had something to do with Ally's mom's disappearance, he feels compelled to get answers. She's wary of trusting others though and there's some moments when things go sideways. The pieces all come together in a suspenseful finish. If you enjoy the Texan setting with suspense and mystery, you'll enjoy this one.
*Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC and for the opportunity to post an honest review.

Solving a decades-old crime will leave no place safe… Twenty years after her mother vanished, Ally Fulton returns to Harmon Ranch—the last place she was seen—and barely makes it out alive. Someone doesn’t want Ally digging up the truth. With a target on her back, she reluctantly accepts protection from Officer Tucker Harmon. Can he keep Ally alive, and right his family’s wrongs, before she’s silenced for good?
Good read! This book had the usual, it had suspense, intrigue, action, murder, mystery, a great who done it and some crazy twists and turns! The storyline was interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I definitely recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

Cute little story. Not sure how many times a person can have their life threatened in one book to make it believable, though. A good romance though, kept me entertained.
