A second change romance with a marriage of convenience, duel pov, and split timeline.

Deacon and LaRynn' grandmothers were married to each other. After their passing Deacon and LaRynn must work together to fix up the home left to them.
Flashbacks to Deacon and LaRynn's first love story and how they each tried to save their own feelings and ended up hurting the other. Will they make the same mistakes or have the grown in confidence, self acceptance, and vulnerability.

Some references to previous acts and four open door scenes.

This was full of just amazing vibes and energy ! It’s not my typical genre but wow I need to read more by this Author. I loved the pace of this book .

I am a big fan of Tarah Dewitt. I loved Funny Feelings and Savor It. I was so excited when I received a copy of The Co-Op. while I enjoyed this one I do think I enjoyed the other ones more. The Co-Op made me cry in a sad kind of way while the other two made me cry in a happy way if that makes sense? So either way Dewitt makes me cry.

This is the second book I’ve read by Tarah DeWitt and I am absolutely a fan of the way she writes characters and tells stories.

LaRynn and Deacon being forced to come together after a falling out from years ago thanks to the divine intervention of their grandmothers was such a cute story to follow. The growth between them as individuals and them together felt authentic. Also, can I mention the longing before they get together, because man was there some sweet longing and tension in the best (and worst) ways lol. I absolutely adored Deacon and how wonderfully sweet and mischievous he was. LaRynn played dirty at times in such fun and funny ways. I had a lot of fun reading this and I can’t wait for Tarah’s other books in the future.

The banter was so good. Love a great marriage of convenience. And the forced proximity was great. I normally don’t love a second chance. But this one worked!

Tarah's writing is starting to grow on me. I'm not the biggest fan of marriage of convenience but I do love a second chance romance, so I wanted to give this a try. I'm so glad I did because it was such a cute story. I hated the miscommunication parts, but I know they can be a staple in a romance so I put up with it. Overall, such a fun adorable read. Glad this is getting traditionally published now.

Tarah Dewitt killed it with the co-op. She brought multiple different tropes into one novel (marriage of convenience, rekindling old flame, dual pov). She included a playlist before the first chapter!!! The playlist flowed so well with the story. I loved watching Larry (LaRynn) and Deacon’s love story evolve. We got to read about both their current and past relationship! Overall loved this book and now a huge Tarah Dewitt fan!

“The Co-op” by Tarah DeWitt
Re-constructing Romance
This is a good story. I enjoyed most of it. There were a few scenes that went into a bit more detail than I care to read, but probably would not be considered spicy by many. I felt like the story kind of dragged a bit in the middle, but that was probably just me being impatient to find out what happens next. Like I said, it is a good story and will keep you turning the pages. Happy Reading ! !

This was really long and hard to get through. It started out ok but the conflict wasn’t strong enough to sustain the length. Basic enemies to lovers, second chance. 🥱

Second Chance romance during a home renovation. I loved this version even more than the original indie published version. The characters felt real and relatable.

I very much enjoyed this book. The banter was great, supporting characters, and storyline were very well written as well. I liked this take on a marriage of convenience. The only thing I think could have been added would have been roughly how much the trust fund was for. It adds some confusion when everything else is pretty transparent on how much he has paid for things how much they could sell the place for once it's fixed up, even how much she spent on things to decorate their place while they renovate, but I don't recall seeing anything about the actual amount of the trust fund. That is totally personal preference, but I think it would have just added a little more credence to the whole "we need to get married because we desperately need that money" idea.

Larynn and deacon!

Well they have know each other since youth and well u can say there was so much miscommunication at a young age now as adults they are forced to make a deal because they both are struggling so badly!
Forced to fix the home their grandmother left for them they go on this journey of married , spiteful banter and falling in love all over again but this time with communication! And understanding. Deacon is this strong man who has a strong mind who’s protective yet really rude lol but in the funniest ways . Toward the end he was still able to pull at my heart strings, oh and Larynn well she’s almost his identical twin in behavior in many cases . They are nearly perfect for one another! As you read along u begin to realize it’s more than just the hook up it’s what it always has been .

This romance novel has some fun tropes, but I just really felt like this one was overworked. Beginning with an author explanation then a playlist before diving in. Then the past/future timeline and the grandmother set up was a lot.

Queen Tarah Dewitt does it again! After loving Savor It earlier this year, I knew I needed to check out The Co-op, and dare I say this is my new favorite Tarah novel?

Tarah has a way of creating depth in her characters and their stories that is unmatched by many authors. Her main characters, LaRynn and Deacon, were brought together years ago when their grandmothers got married. After being thrusted together as (dare I say) angsty teens, they have a summer fling that ends poorly. Now, their grandmothers have passed and left the house to them. The house is in terrible condition, and both of them want to renovate it and either rent or sell, but they have a lot of unresolved emotions from their past. Can they put their differences aside to renovate the house and respect their grandmother’s legacy?

Gosh I LOVED the characters in this book. I relate so much to LaRynn, from having parents with high expectations (pretty sure my parents also wish I was a lawyer, but we still love them), to having a reading disability, to struggling to reveal emotions for fear of being shut down. While she initially may come off as stand-off-ish, she has so much character and appreciation for her friends, and I loved watching her character develop. Deacon is a top tier book boyfriend. He may try to act casual around LaRynn, but he is the cutest golden retriever.

This book has everything! Dual POV, second chance romance, multiple time periods, marriage of convenience, small town, and much more. I think many readers will find something they love in this story. My only gripes with this nearly perfect novel are that I felt like we could have gotten more depth and resolve on LaRynn’s relationship with her father. One of the first flashbacks circles around a scene involving her dad and Deacon, and I wanted to know more about that drama!

That being said, I had such a fun time reading this book that I am giving it 5 stars! I did this as a buddy read, and we finished multiple weeks ahead of schedule because we were enjoying ourselves so much. 4.5 stars rounding up to 5!

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Tarah Dewitt is an auto buy author and continues to prove to me why she is an auto buy author! The rerelease of this book did such a great thing for the story! I love these characters and the story so much more!

I loved reading the original version of this, and this new revamped copy is even more wonderful.

Deacon and LaRynn both feel like such real people. Deacon is funny and guy next door-ish, and I find he has this intangible but very real masculinity to him. LaRynn is a tall queen 👑 who isn't all sunshine but she's giving "to you I can admit, that I'm just too soft for all of it" 🎶 🥹

The meanness, the teasing, the tension, turned to softening and vulnerability, take you on a dynamic journey with the characters. And the additional insight into their past makes it easier to understand where they are now.

This book actually has my favorite Tarah epilogue. It's not what I would have expected for them, but it makes perfect sense and I couldn't think of a better happy ending.

I'd recommend this book if you like real, flawed characters, bickering and tension, home improvement, dual timelines, and a surprisingly soft love story 💞

Contract marriage meets frienemies to lovers and I am here for it. The obsession our leads contend with is spicy and fun, and has you rooting for them even if they aren’t necessarily your favorite character.

4 Stars! I really enjoyed reading this book!

Most Memoriable Parts:

🛁 Super Cute Inside Jokes (mostly about towels)
🏐 Overly Competitive Volleyball Games

This super-cute second chance romance, fake marriage, forced proximity story is so cute! Tarah DeWitt has this incredible way of making the characters confront their problems, but not letting their damage define them. My only critique is that the book started out really slow, and I wasn’t really hooked until about 30% in. But, I’m so glad I stayed to see Larry and Devon bloom into a loving family 💛
