There was a lot to love about this book, but also a lot that I…didn’t love.
To start with the positives, I actually really liked this author’s writing for the most part (save for some of the dialogue). The setting was really lush, and I felt like the characters had great chemistry. A lot of my issues aside, I don’t actually think this is a bad romance. I still had fun with it and wanted to finish it.
The chemistry between them wasn’t enough for me to actually like them together though. Things moved so quickly between - they hate each other immediately for almost no reason and then things from 0 to 100 between them at one point after they’ve only known each other for a few weeks. These are two characters who aren’t super likable on their own and who I don’t know if I really buy them together as a couple past the physical aspects.
I also was so distracted by the idea behind the matchmaking company! Even with funding from their father, I couldn’t stop thinking about how there was no way they’d actually be making any money on the tour. Plus, they Adam and Ruby kept talking about how every deserves to find love, but their business was built solely on targeting the uber wealthy. And they hardly did any actual matchmaking??
I’d still be interested to read more by this author and there was moments where this really worked for me, but it wasn’t my favorite.

This book had everything I could have wanted: a disenchanted academic, sweet friendship sideplots, a beautifully described setting, a sprinkling of navigation across cultural differences, a healthy dose of wish fulfillment.
After losing her adjuncting job (her contract terminated by her now-ex, no less!) struggling and disaffected poet Evie finds herself with unexpected summer plans. Her beloved Auntie Hảo has died and left her an inheritance, but to collect, she must first go on a matchmaking tour across Việt Nam. Adam (Bảo) helps his sister run Love Yêu Tours, is successful in all things except love, living up to his father's astronomical expectations, and keeping his eyes off of a certain unruly tour guest.
The writing is often gorgeous: lyrical, sumptuous, with pockets of unexpected imagery. You can tell the author has a background in poetry. Việt Nam serves as a beautiful backdrop for a story about two adults at turning points in their lives, coming together and learning from one another. Both Evie and Adam are struggling with the weight of expectations, just in different ways that are shaped by family experiences and cultural differences.
Seeing Adam's growing confidence and realization that his own desires matter was a real highlight. Adam also grapples with his privileged upbringing, and how that privilege buoyed him in many ways, but failed to protect him in others. Evie's development was more subtle, but in a lot of ways, mirrored Adam's. I loved the moments when Evie chose not to take the path she'd been told she was supposed to want and fit into, but instead figured out what she really needed.
I do think the third-act breakup happened quite quickly and suddenly. I know a lot of folks don't like this part of the romance structure, but I don't mind it. It just didn't quite fit these characters and their issues, IMO. But there's so much to love packed into this story that I didn't even get to touch on (Fen and Mei!!). If you want a sweet, heartfelt, escapist romance, definitely pick this up!

What a fun romance! I got to enjoy Adam and Evie's story AND tour a country! I think this book will inspire a lot of people to book a tour of Asia. Definitely one of the best romances I've read this year.

Absolutely loved the setting(s) in this book! Also, how gorgeous is the book cover?! Gushing so much about how dreamy Adam & Evie were. Highly recommend to all the romance book lovers. Thank you to the publisher for the eARC!

Adam & Evie's Matchmaking Tour by Nora Nguyen is an absolute delight, blending romance, adventure, and cultural exploration into one irresistible package. Nguyen's witty and heartfelt writing brings to life the chemistry between the grumpy yet charming Adam and the spirited, unpredictable Evie. Their journey through Việt Nam is as much about discovering each other as it is about reconnecting with their own pasts and futures. The vibrant settings and the playful banter between the leads make for a story that’s both entertaining and emotionally satisfying. If you’re looking for a romance that’s rich in humor, heart, and a touch of wanderlust, this book is a perfect pick.

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to review this title. This book is really cute. The beginning gave me similar vibes of The Seven Year Slip and I am here for it. The characters growth and setting and it was just so good!

Firstly, thank you to NetGalley, the author Nora Nguyen and HarperCollins Publishers for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
When I first read the premise of this book, I knew I wanted to get my hands on it—and luckily I was able to score an ARC.
I deeply appreciate the respect with which the author describes Việt Nam, as it really takes you on a summer tour around the region.
However, I think it was both a mix of the third person, and the unrealistic dialogue—I knew Evie’s a poet but constantly talking in prose must be tiresome even to the greatest—as well as my unableness to connect with the main characters and their backstories made it an effort to stay hooked.
All in all, the story was fine, and I can see how other people might enjoy it but sadly, this one wasn’t for me.

This was a sweet and fun romance novel with a bit of spice. It was a fresh premise that took me on a compelling tour of Vietnam. It a fun read with a great escape.

4 Stars Adam & Evie's Matchmaking Tour has a lot that will keep you captivated. The dynamic between Adam and Evie, the cultural exploration, and the fast paced story all set against the backdrop of beautiful Vietnam. Honestly, Vietnam is basically another character in this book with the way it's tied so thoroughly into the story. This definitely isn't another romcom and has a lot of character growth. Thank you Avon and NetGalley for the ARC!

Adam & Evie’s Matchmaking Tour has captured the hearts of many readers with its unique blend of romance and cultural exploration set against the stunning backdrop of Vietnam. The dynamic between Evie and Adam, marked by their playful bickering and undeniable chemistry, is a standout feature. The vivid descriptions of Vietnamese landscapes and the deep dive into its culture make every page feel like a little adventure.
While some critiques mention the romance’s rapid pace and Adam’s need for more character development, most readers are thoroughly enchanted by the book. The emotional moments of grief and self-discovery, paired with witty and engaging dialogue, resonate deeply. It's a perfect pick for those who enjoy a romance with a touch of adventure and a hint of wanderlust.

A dreamy matchmaking tour through the historical, breathtaking, and adventurous sights of Vietnam, fueled with grumpy-meets-sunshine, a pinch of enemies-to-lovers, and lots of opposites-attract tropes made me cheer and jump into this fun journey without hesitation!
I have to admit, until the heroine held a rooster in the middle of a highway and was saved by a slightly mean but still heroic savior, my expectations were a little low. But as soon as the sunshiny poet, academician, and carefree Evie Lang meets the brooding, uptight, work-oriented Adam Queyen, love songs start blasting in my head, and I begin enjoying my reading more. The spectacularly described setting of Vietnam, embellished with their fiery chemistry, the jealousy they feel for each other each time one of them talks with other matchmaking candidates, sweet and salty laugh-out-loud banter, the family issues they carry, the grief, the heartbreak, and the longing made me turn pages faster and engage with the story even more. I couldn't stop reading, my cheeks hurting from smiling too much.
Here's a quick recap of the plot:
The story revolves around Evie Lang, who recently lost her aunt Hao, leaving her a dreamy San Francisco mansion that had been a guesthouse for bohemian eccentric artists and their lifelong entertaining parties and gatherings, organized by her rich aunt. But inheriting the mansion comes with a mandatory clause: Evie has to attend a pre-arranged matchmaking tour in Vietnam for fun. When Evie also finds out her boyfriend is receiving resumes to fill her teaching position at the academy, she feels betrayed and soon-to-be jobless, which means it's the best time to dump her boyfriend and fulfill her aunt's wishes.
Meanwhile, Adam Quyen, a member of the powerful Quyen family, manages the marketing business of his sister's matchmaking company that arranges the very same tour Evie will attend. Adam was publicly humiliated by his ex after not only having his marriage proposal rejected but also finding his girlfriend cheating on him with a 60-year-old tycoon behind his back, which scandalized his powerful family who give more importance to appearances than his well-being.
His sister pushes him to join the tour to improve the marketing company, bringing more spice and soul to the advertisements, which he reluctantly accepts because he never says no when one of his family members requests something.
But after a fight-at-first-sight meeting with the easy-going, eccentric, joyful Evie, he finds himself pulled to her like a moth to a flame, even though he does everything to restrain his feelings. He has already humiliated his family with his wrong choice in marriage. He cannot fall for an American woman who has no career expectations, in contrast to his serious, work-oriented family who requires obedience and full control. Let's not forget she will return to her own country at the end of the trip. Evie also looks for someone more loosened up, entertaining, and embracing life fully instead of that uptight, brooding man who buries his nose in Russian classics in his spare time instead of chasing adventures. But sparks keep flying. What if the heart desires what it desires and they have to surrender without thinking it through? What if they're opposites matched in heaven?
Overall: I'm rounding up 4.5 stars to 5 because this inspirational book with its message of seeing things with your heart is extremely heartfelt and enjoyable! I highly recommend it as one of the best romance delights of the year.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for sharing this amazing book's digital reviewer copy with me in exchange for my honest thoughts.

This book was a beautifully crafted romance set in the vibrant landscapes of Vietnam, and I am utterly in love with it. This book took me on a journey that was as much about the blossoming love between the two main characters as it was about exploring the rich culture, and beauty of Vietnam.
Adam and Evie’d love story at the heart of this book was captivating. The characters were well-developed, with genuine chemistry that leapt off the page. I was drawn to their personal journeys and the way they navigated their cultural differences and personal challenges. Their love felt real, raw, and deeply moving. The way their relationship unfolded was both heartwarming and realistic, making it easy to root for their happy ending.
What I loved most about this book was how it seamlessly blended romance with a deeper exploration of identity, heritage, and finding one’s place in the world. It was a love story, yes, but also a story of self-discovery, growth, and connection to one’s roots.
I highly recommended!

What drew me to this story the most was the setting and the twist on the marriage of convenience trope. I enjoyed the banter and chemistry between Evie and Adam and the heart and emotional depth that was in their story. This was a solid read for me.

Adam & Evie is such a heartwarming, feel-good romance with a touch of adventure and cultural exploration, offering a story that celebrates the beauty of taking risks, embracing imperfection, and finding love in the most unexpected places.
I loved that this book touched on much more than just the romance - sure, the matchmaking tour set in beautiful Vietnam tourist attractions set the tone - but the dual POV/alternating chapters brought so much more to light. Evie was working through a work crisis on top of "what am I doing with my life" on top of grieving for her aunt while Adam is working through family expectations, work woes, and the loss of what he thought was a great relationship. Neither one of them went on this tour "willingly" or to find love, but they both grew as people in addition to the friendships they made along the way.
It did feel a little too insta-lovey for me, but I thought their banter and tension was spot on while their communication lacked a little- Adam's meddling family was not helpful, either.
I really liked Adam & Evie's journey, and can't wait to see what Nora Nguyen writes next!
Thank you, NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This book was dramatic, humorous, and emotional! It hit many marks for me! The vibrant descriptions of Vietnamese landmarks and tourist attractions truly kept me hooked in this story, and I felt as connected to my ancestors as Evie felt connected to her aunt and father in this story. There are captivating moments full of chemistry, and insight into the Vietnamese culture. Evie and Adam’s evolving relationship is as thrilling as it is heartwarming. If you want a read with a touch of wanderlust, plenty of humor, and a whole lot of heart, this would be the perfect fit. Thanks to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for this free eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was excited to dive into this book based on the premise and cover- what could be better than a lovers to enemies set in a beautiful location? As I read, it started feeling more like the authors was just ticking items off of a list rather than building a world and characters that I could lose myself in. This could be a fun, quick read for readers just looking for an escape but there's unfortunately not much more past the surface.

Not sure what it was, but this book just fell short for me. I was interested in the first few chapters, but it quickly lost me after that and I ended up DNFing

I absolutely loved this sexy, smart and culturally sensitive romance novel! Adam and Evie are such memorable and loveable characters, and I thought the side characters in the matchmaking tour were so cleverly written. I really, really loved this romance, and I cannot wait to handsell it.

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A luxurious holiday tour of Vietnam brings polar opposites Evie and Adam together in this stunning summer read.
I adored every second of this book. From their lavish travels in high end, luxury hotels and Vietnamese estates to the surreal natural landscapes of mountains and caverns, Adam & Evie's Matchmaking Tour was enjoyable and engaging to the very last page.
With the magical setting bringing so much to the story, it would be easy for the characters and plot to fall short. However, this is most definitely not the case. Our two main characters, Evie and Adam, have depth and personality beyond their romantic interests. Evie grieves not only her late aunt, but her father and her heritage that she never had the opportunity to explore. Adam buckles from the weight of generations of familial expectations. Both are complex and flawed characters that keep the story grounded amidst the lavish, expensive lifestyles and dreamlike vacations.
An incredible book that always made me hungry whenever I read- the food they ate all sounded so delicious that I had to order Vietnamese takeout, would def recommend doing so while reading this. I can't wait to explore Nora Nguyen's other works!
A huge thank you to Nora Nguyen, Avon and Harper Voyager, and NetGalley for the ARC <3
