Received this arc for an honest review.

Jax is a stuntman who is wanting to take time off, yet seems to always work. He also feels as if the women he is with only want him for who he is. Enter Lexi a wedding dress designer to the stars who has her own clientele. Neither one is looking for a relationship or anyone, yet they find each other and the sparks fly between them. When they each find out about the other one neither wants to be with the other one, yet they still find a way to text, sext each other only to keep everything going. The heat and the banter between the two characters are off the charts. This book is definitely worth the read.

I received a complimentary copy of Reckless in exchange for an honest review. Total disclaimer, Skye Jordan is my favorite author, and I always go for these books first.

Reckless was a good read, but definitely not one of Jordan's best. There were times where I wasn't following the storyline. I'm still not sure what Veronica did to destroy Jax's career opportunity, and why he was so burned out with women. Even with these pitfalls, this was still a great read. I know the texting doesn't always work for some readers, but in this situation, it did. I instantly liked the chemistry between Lexi & Jax, and Jordan does a great job with intimate scenes, and Reckless was no exception.

Overall, this was worth the read, and I'd recommend to friends and family.

Oh boy. This is going to steam up your glasses! It is a hot erotic read. However, I was a little disappointed that Lexi was model beautiful since the beginning of the story insinuated that Jax would avoid getting into a relationship with a “beautiful” woman. I also had difficulty reconciling the difference between Lexi’s confidence with her seduction skills yet was so insecure in her professional life.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC eBook of this book. ⁣

I am voluntarily leaving this review.⁣

This was a great angst filled book.⁣

I loved our MCs but was a little annoyed at how long it took Lexi to come to her senses… if I found a Jax in my life I’d be gripping on for grim death! ⁣

You know what I mean - when you’re so invested in the story and the characters that’s you just want to reach in and give them a shake, then point out what we as the readers already know! ⁣

4 stars

Unfortunately this was a DNF for me. I couldn’t make it through the instalove text conversation which just isn’t my cuppa.

Lexi is a couture wedding dress designer to the rich and famous. She was not raised in that world but she has worked hard to achieve her dreams. Her image means everything in her business. Jax is a former actor from a family of actors. He has left the world of acting to pursue his passion of being a Stuntman. He has been used by many woman that want to use him as a stepping stone to success. He owns his own stunt company but most people still know him as the Hollywood idol Lexi meets Jax but does not recognize him. She is just attracted to the man she sees as a handsome bad boy. She offers him a chance for a totally anonymous hook up during a out of town trip. She is totally attracted to this bad boy but is afraid that he could hurt her image. This is a steamy romance. I recommend this book.

Jax comes across as a bad boy, but he really just is trying to be a regular good guy after getting burned in the socialite scene in LA. Lexi is an up and coming designer that is making a name for herself in the same scene. Their paths cross, and they to decide if they can take the risk of letting the other see the true person underneath the facade they show to the rest of the world.

I truly enjoyed this story because of the characters showed their vulnerabilities. It wasn't an instant "kiss and make up" that many romance books have. The characters had to dig deeper into themselves and deal with their own issues before they could move forward.

Macrocosmic crits:

- Overall, competent writing. There are some moments where profanity is inserted in the middle of words for the sake of emphasis that end up throwing off the flow instead, and it's even more bizarre for how well the rest of the story is written.
- Needs a sensitivity reader. Nothing malicious, just a little uninformed.
-The author is not afraid of writing sex scenes without using weird euphemisms. They balance classy and unapologetic.

Microcosm. This story is going to be someone's catnip, but it's just not mine. Stuff that left me a bit cold:
-Mild butt stuff
-Instalove/lust
-Any time conflict arrises it's almost instantly dispelled
-Lexi "isn't like other girls" and Jax is impressed by her a) not talking about herself/asserting her identity and b) doting on him. It comes off a little "pick me"
-Jax immediately wants a relationship while Lexi's on the fence about it. Instead of passionate it just seems like a red flag when he pushes, especially when he brings it up in the middle of their one night stand.

This is the first book in a steamy erotica series. The romance was quick and hot and the storyline enjoyable. Recommend.

I thought it was good. Insta-lust and all that jazz... I wish there was more conflict? I feel like there should be a few more chapters and I want to know why Jax's image was soo bad that people didn't like to hang out with him? This wasn't explained in detail and the one that we got was pretty flimsy. I loved the chemistry between Jax and Lexi, though!
