I was hooked from the cover and enjoyed the intensity of the cover and how it works with the story inside. I thought the use of the Hollywood fixer element and how it worked in the story. Nolon King and Sean Platt has a great writing style and worked with what I wanted. The rest of the characters worked in the story and had that mystery element that I wanted.

A chaotic read reminiscent of the movie, The Hangover, and I loved it. Well-spiced with twists, suspense and humour. Thank you, Netgalley for giving me this book in exchange for my honest feedback.

Nora and Daphne are an unlikely pair but they sure are funny. The interplay between the characters, including sharp dialogue, makes for a fun reading experience. The plot itself is fast paced and set in an interesting world which I dare say most readers would not have experienced.

In "Last Night Never Happened," Nora Bauer, once a revered Hollywood fixer, now finds herself ostracized after exposing a crime instead of covering it up, shattering her reputation in an industry built on secrets. When faded actress Daphne Belle seeks Nora's help to avoid tabloid scandals, they embark on what seems like a routine job. However, after a night of debauchery they can't recall, they wake up to a gruesome scene and zero memory of how it happened. Their desperate quest to uncover the truth leads them into the dark underbelly of Hollywood, where whispered secrets and encounters with shadowy figures reveal a chilling conspiracy.

It is a riveting thriller that unexpectedly blends suspense with humor, reminiscent of watching a comedy movie like "The Hangover." The unexpected comedic elements added depth to the story and kept me entertained throughout. At first I found it challenging to get into the story, but once I became immersed, I found it to be an enjoyable read.

Overall, "Last Night Never Happened" is a gripping thriller that combines suspense with humor, offering readers an entertaining and unpredictable journey through the darker side of Hollywood.

P.s If you love movies like " The Hangover " then you should definitely pick up this book!!

This book had a great concept but lacked execution. Between some bad editing, ridiculous banter and plot holes, it fell flat for me.
Bad editing: there were multiple sentences throughout that were either missing words or had a word added so that the sentence was unreadable. Additionally, Daphne's last name was misspelled a few times (Belle/Bell) and in another part they were talking to a Sophia who later became Sofia...and then Jessa became Sophia/Sofia. It was problematic.
Banter: It was just too much. Daphne wasn't believable. Midway through I wanted to just tape her mouth shut.
Plot holes: body in trunk was never explained. The gang just pops back up randomly. So many things made either no sense at all or just weren't hashed out to make sense.

Synopsis: An actress past her prime and her fixer get caught up in a crime web after attending a charity gala that leaves them without their memories.

My Thoughts: First and foremost, this book was funnier than I expected it to be. When I started reading it, I thought it was going to be a serious thriller, but Nora and Daphne have such funny banter and get involved with an interesting cast of characters. I would read another book in this series just for the characters alone. There was, however, a lot going on in this book - to the point that I got lost in what was going on a couple of times. This made it hard for me to stay immersed in the story. The plot twists are frequent and, in my opinion, more difficult than normal to figure out which made the ending a lot of fun to read.

I liked the idea of two women mixed up in a murder investigation. It was smart, fun and dangerous while poking at the nasty underbelly of Hollywood, celebrity and money. I also appreciated the short chapters. However, there was something missing. The beginning never grabbed and held me to the story, and the neither did anything else. My guess is that this wasn’t a new or refreshing enough take on fame and wealth for me. I was hoping for more.

*Thank you N. King, S. Platt and Sterling & Stone for the, Last Night Never Happened ARC.

A medium-paced action, mystery, thriller, that really picks up around the middle. If you like action and mystery, this is definitely for you! There’s lots of fun, witty banter happening between the two main characters that breaks the tension, and lots of funny, lighthearted moments that break up the action, but never dull it. With a list of ongoing suspects and constant clues scattered like breadcrumbs, this makes for an interesting read!

Follow a has-been actress and her droll buttoned up assistant through the underbelly of Hollywood trying to figure out what happened to them one night. No memory leads them staggering in to the underbelly of the shiny lights. Lots of banter and laughs. Not bad for a mystery of this type.

There was a lot going on all through this book and some very funny lines all throughout. I did have a hard time staying in the story but it was very unique not very predictable like most of these type can be.

The two main characters grew on me slowly. Over the course of the book, the characters change as does their relationship. Loved their snarky banter. I'll be looking for a sequel.
