I was fortunate to have received an ARC of this book from NetGalley.

Her Pretty Lies weaves a tale about Kendall Good. The promising student loses her education grant, her boyfriend, and her dream place all in the same day. She is approached by a social media influencer who strikes a bargain of housing, in exchange for helping her with classes. However, a murder leaves Kendall looking suspicious and presents more questions, than answers.

Great story with surprising twists and turns. I do feel the ending was rushed a bit but still a fun read.

Her Pretty Lies by Angela Henry is a really fast-moving book that I read in one sitting.

You don’t have to worry about boring or low parts in this novel, but you do have to suspend reality a little because everyone is connected in some way. I won’t spoil it for you…

Everything seems to happen to Kendall at once- the grant she was going to receive gets taken away, she catches her boyfriend cheating and she has nowhere to go and no money.

So when another student approaches her with a scheme that could get her kicked out of school, yet also solve many of her problems, she can’t really turn it down. And these eventually lead to some terrible things happening.

There are many secrets and twists in this book, everyone appears to be lying and you really can’t trust anyone.

Synopsis:

The paramedics tell me I’m in shock as they load the body bag into the ambulance.

Only days ago, I had everything. A man I wanted to marry. A prestigious fellowship for graduate school. A perfect new apartment. I’m a psychology student. I should have known she was hiding something from the start…

Now I’m shivering under a foil blanket wondering how my life became a nightmare.

And when the paramedics check me over, it’s not concern I see on their faces. It’s fear.

They think I did this. They think I killed her…

Out now!

A woman has called 911 and when they arrive the paramedics find a young woman covered with blood, bruises and shaking uncontrollably then she starts telling her version of what happened When the police and medics come out of the house, their calm calm and sympathetic faces. are quickly changing to fear!

She should have listened to her instincts and never trusted the charming student whom everyone loved and wanted to live in her shoes. I had everything I could have dreamed, a two year full tuition paid program for my last two years of my graduate program, a boyfriend and a nice apartment. Within a 24hr. period I lost everything and will now be homeless, boyfriend dumped me and I will probably have to drop out of school.

Just when I thought my life is in ruins, along comes an offer that I should resist but I know I won't say no. The dark, dangerous secrets and lies that I unknowingly walked into because I couldn't resist that offer where now I'm sitting on the.doorstep of a scene of horror that I never asked for or did I!

This book was an entertaining, fun and very twisted mystery/thriller. The story was full of many surprises and a couple of shocks as well, plus the novel was very well-written and a real page turner where I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. The story seems a little slow while enjoyable at first but when story picks up it becomes a non-stop twist and turn ride that I didn't want to come to an end. I'm looking forward to reading many more of Angela Henry's books in the future!

I want to thank the publisher "Storm Publishing" and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this terrific book and any thoughts or opinions expressed are unbiased and mine alone!

I have given a rating of 4 MURDEROUS AND DECEITFUL 🌟🌟🌟🌟 STARS!!

Holy smokes this book was so good, I couldn't put it down! At the beginning I felt sorry for Kendall after she lost the fellowship trying to figure out a new plan for grad school. Then I started to wonder what was really going on, something didn't seem quite right. Then the book flashes back and forth between timelines and at first I was confused because the story lines weren't matching up. But when it all came together I couldn't believe it. From there it was one twist after another. The dynamic between Kendall and Mac was a bit odd at first but once that was straight in my head it made it even harder to put down. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this book.

4 stars for Her Pretty Lies by Angela Henry!

What a GREAT thriller read! Kendall, the mc, has lost funding for school. As luck would have it, she gets wrapped up with Mackenzie, a popular influencer, who just needs a little help in exchange. Of course, nothing will never go as planned, and Kendall is thrown for a wild ride throughout the rest of the book.

A solid 3.5-4 star read, Her Pretty Lies is twisty and keeps you guessing until the end. It took me a little bit to get into the story, but I find that makes a great thriller. It was like you are reading on and on, and it quickly takes a turn I was not expecting. Every single character has a secret, some you can spot a mile away, others are going to throw you for a loop! If you love thrillers with twists and turns, this is the book for you. Quick and enjoyable read!

Thank you NetGalley, Storm Publishing, and Angela Henry for sharing an ARC with me. (:

A fast-paced juicy drama with lots of plot twists, some more believable than others, with an underdog main character you can’t help but root for. 3.5 stars rounded up. Thanks to #netgalley for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

This novel has so many twists and turns that it kept me turning pages long after I'd said "just one more chapter." Kendall Good is trying to get through grad school, but every single thing that could go wrong, does. And, it's not just minor problems...these are life changing.
I really enjoyed this novel, and I'll be awaiting more from the author.

Thank you to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for a digital ARC of this title in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

What do you do when everything in your world falls apart? You think you have a solution and a brick wall smacks you in the face. Another opportunity arises only to throw another wall. This is where you find Kendall Good. She just wants to make it through grad school and the trouble that finds her is scary!

The story was great and so many twists I kept thinking I knew but didn't know. So glad I had the opportunity to read this!!!

Not great but not awful, this story plodded along at a reasonable pace and had a couple of good twists, but the characters weren’t great, not likeable or relatable except for Kendall at times, though she also annoyed me.
The plot was a bit far fetched but it’s fiction after all and it was entertaining.
I found this book an easy read overall and mostly well written.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was well-thought out and reading it was easy. It didn't have any parts that were super hard to understand, which makes it a nice easy read!

I was hooked from the beginning with the drama happening almost immediately. This book definitely delivered with the twists even though the story at times seemed a little unbelievable and kind of ridiculous and crazy. This book kept me interested for a while, but got slow for me at some points. It also felt like there was a lot going on in the book and things felt chaotic, but sort of in a good, messy type of way. The ending was strong for me and left my mind boggled (in a good way). It was a solid read for me overall that was a little over the top at times.

Wowzers - this book threw you RIGHT into the twists & turns!

What if you were at rock bottom but someone offered you a way out? But in accepting that way you, it went against everything you believed in?

Great thriller, great pacing!

This is a quick read that won’t be a game changer but is a perfectly serviceable dual POV thriller.

Beach read all over it!

This book left me with mixed feelings—I found the plot to be a bit unbelievable at times, with pacing that felt slow in some places and rushed in others.
One downside was that I saw the ending coming from halfway through the book, which left me feeling a bit disappointed. It felt like the author gave away the story with just one revealing sentence in the middle! 😕
On the upside, it definitely keeps you guessing with its twists and turns, even though I found some of them a bit hard to believe. Despite the issues, the book does a good job of keeping you on your toes!
Overall, while this book had its drawbacks, it might still be worth a read if you enjoy mysteries with plenty of surprises. However, be prepared for some plot challenges along the way! 📖
Big thanks to NetGalley, for giving me the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I appreciate the publisher granting me access to this ARC but I’m sorry to say that I really didn’t enjoy it. I found the plot unbelievable, and slow in some places, yet rushed in others. In addition, the characters were all pretty unlikeable. A positive point was that the book definitely keeps you on your toes with lots of twists and turns, but unfortunately they weren’t believable enough to engage me in the book. Apologies for not being able to give a more positive review.

THIS IS A SPOILER FREE REVIEW

Wow! What can I say about a suspense, true crime novel without giving away any spoilers?

Right from the onset Kendall the main character had so many things going on with her and to her that it was almost too much. I loved the story, as you literally cannot keep guessing what's going to happen next. It is as the premise promises an edge of your seat, gripping, psychological thriller.

My only gripe if any, is at times the pacing was a little bit all over the place, yes we were getting a bit of backstory to Kendall and the characters in the story- but it felt slow burn in places and too fast in others.

This having said- I couldn't guess the ending and I definitely didn't see it coming. I had to read this story in one sitting.

4.5 ⭐️

This was a 4.5⭐️ for me. Unfortunately, it is not possible to rate half stars here.

I usually read thrillers/horror stories around the spooky season. But when I was accepted for this psychological thriller ARC, I was very happy. I liked the description and wanted to know more. Let me tell you Miss Angela Henry has caught my attention and I will definitely be reading more from her and also more thrillers. The story was suspenseful with many twists. In the middle of the book with so many lies I could not make up my mind who was lying or telling the truth. Everyone had secrets and they all led to each other. However, it was not predictable which made it a perfect read.
Thank you NetGally and Angela Henry
