From the synopsis, I was really interested in this book. The prologue had me interested but after that I couldn’t get into this story. It was slow and sometimes hard to follow. I couldn't connect with the main character, and the plot felt too familiar with other stories involving schools or wealthy settings. There were some good twists but it wasn’t for me.

***Disclaimer - This book did contain some elements that for me personally were a bit more than I cared to read. Including elements of rape and violence.

I am a sucker for a wallop of a twist, and the final twist in Girl, Missing was just that!

Fifteen years ago, Gem's 8 year old daughter, Sara-Jane and her best friend Abby were abducted. When Gem hears that human remains have been found in the chapel, Gem leaves her new life to return to the town that took everything from her. As she once again tries to uncover what happened to her daughter all those years ago, Sara-Jane's belongings start showing up on Gem's doorstep, leading Gem to realize that she is dangerously close to finding out what really happened.

This book did not grab me from the beginning. It was a bit of a slow burn and I wasn't feeling it. I almost DNFed it, but I'm glad that I didn't. Once the twists started coming, they didn't stop! While parts of the story felt unbelievable, I enjoyed how it all came together.

Thank you NetGalley, Brilliance Audio and the authors for the advance audio of this book for an honest review.

I wasn’t able to get into this story. I struggled to connect with the MC. I think I may have also read too many stories like this one where a school or other rich entity is involved. I wanted to like this.
