This is a beautiful coloring book highlighting amazing cities and landmarks across America. Including beautiful illustrations and interesting facts about each place, this is a joy to color.

Like many people, I have admired and enjoyed Eric Dowdle’s artwork in other creative forms; specifically, both full and mini sized puzzles. So, naturally, a coloring book of his work was right up my alley! Really enjoyed this ARC and how it permits the reader to engage in their own expression of creativity, while having a frame of reference in the original work… also, really appreciated the little nuggets of info and facts accompanying the different landmarks and locations depicted. Many thanks to the author/artist, NetGalley, and publisher for the opportunity to review this ARC!

I am such a fan of this series of colouring books - the National Parks one is my favourite but this is now a close second. As always the images are meticulously detailed without being overwhelming, and take you on a journey through cities in the USA. I love the inclusion of facts about each city and the inspiration images are beautiful.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.

This is a fun and detailed coloring book! I really like that there is a color image right next to the blank coloring page so you can see the artwork. I know students will enjoy this book.

This isn’t just an ordinary colouring book, within the pages you are also treated to the wonderful and intricate art of Eric Dowdle. As you colour in the landmarks and cityscapes you are also treated to some trivia about the area as well.

Will definitely be buying a copy of this as it’ll provide hours, if not days of relaxation.

I have looked at a number of these books for the purpose of a review, so I am going to sound repetitive here. But if you haven't read a review of mine, then this will be new information, and in truth my review for these is very similar between them all.

I found this was an interesting colouring book concept, and that the illustrations that go with each location were amazing and so detailed. There are so many things to see and find in each one. The text was well balanced, and it's evident that Dowdle has based his artwork on his own experiences. I think that, of the series, the America ones are the most engaging because, well, he has lived in some of these locations and likely traveled to them multiple times. I have also been to many of these cities so appreciated the details that picked up certain items. I was expecting more repetition with the other colouring books but there wasn't or there wasn't any to my recollection.

I do think that, as a colouring book, the pages that represent the actual art are harder to colour or less engaging as colouring pages per se. But they do have complete lines to separate out parts of the illustration which makes for clear colour delineation. There is nothing worse than the colouring books that just forget to end lines so that things flow into one another and you have to either pen in a line or flow the colours into one another in a messy way. And the pages that are unique to the book that follow a more filled pattern style are really good pages for colouring with many colours and still reflecting the location.

Definitely a good colouring book and I certainly enjoy the originals. It would be one of those colouring books that you colour and keep.

Perfect for those who love travel and coloring! Eric Dowdle is famous for his folk-art style and now, many of those beautiful pictures are available as a coloring page. These pictures are ideal for those who appreciate a lot of detail. There are 40 pictures from various locations around America. Each picture includes people enjoying the moment, bringing the picture to life beyond the scenic view. The original picture is provided in color, for those who enjoy a reference. A few of the locations provide an extra page or two for coloring, but most are a singular picture.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.

The illustrations of different cities across America were absolutely stunning and I loved the bold vibrant colours. I also loved that an illustration was provided for each colouring in page as it removes the decision fatigue of choosing colours which I often come across when I attempt to fill in colouring books.

However, I think the designs were a bit too intricate for my taste and if I were to start colouring in one of the pages I would either get bored and loose interest or become overwhelmed before finishing any of the pictures. This is purely personal preference though and I know a lot of people will love dedicated the time to filling in the intricate landscapes.

This coloring book is very cute. The original paintings are gorgeous and very detailed. Next to them is the blank version to color. Because the designs are so intricate this is definitely a coloring book for an older audience. Accompaning each picture and chosen US city or landmark are a few sentences of information about the location. This book will be a delight to anyone who likes to color, whether they are familiar with the artist or not.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
