A Murder for the Sages is another enjoyable book in the Sissy Yoder series. A local her.b farmer is murdered and one of Sissy’s cousins is caught in the middle. Sissy and Gavin begin to investigate, finding all sorts of odd things happening in Yoder. I really liked the ending and the hint of the next mystery.

"A Murder for the Sages (A Sunflower Café Mystery #3)" by Amy Lillard is a touch of Amish cozy mystery and a touch of writer cozy mystery in a tiny house. This one revolves around a tractor "accident" that Sissy doesn't believe is an accident. She and Gavin do some digging to find out what really happened. Really, it felt like it resolved purely because the culprit got ahead of themself when and thought they knew more than they did, revealing themself.

My main complaint with this book was the excessive repetition of phrases, words and some information. I get it, some people talk like that or think like that but it was to the point it just felt like filler rather than a character trait. It actually got a bit annoying, especially after the 6th time of hearing why Sissy works at the Sunflower Café.

“Don’t kick the tires if the donkey is free.
Lol too funny. I've never heard this saying before. Probably because it's Amish.
This book y'all. I grinned at the citizens of Yoder as they tried to guess what and why about happened to Ginger.
I was happy to see Sissy and her Aunt Beulah back for another mystery. They are quite the sleuthers.
The author has done quite a wonderful job with the mystery part. A couple of twists I didn't see coming. Which is why I enjoyed it so much.
Still can't stand Earl Berry.
5 stars for a well written story. I highly recommend!

When Sissy and her friends and family start trying to find out what happened to a neighbor lady who died by being run over by a tractor, things get complicated. Lots of red herrings and yet a good pathway to lead the reader to the clues. Fun read and would highly recommend.

Sissy Yoder is back in this newest addition to the series.
When a local herb farmer is killed, everyone believes it was an accident, I mean, it's typical to run yourself over with a tractor, right?!
Sissy knows this was no accident, so she does her best to dig up the truth.
I really liked this book, the mystery was solid and the other characters truly make this a very enjoyable book.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.
