The story shows the kindness and helpfulness of people, who do everything they can to get Mr Trunks and Libby reunited.
Great writing and nicely illustrated.

I loved the illustrations in this book. Each of the characters were very unique, and I loved the quirky addition of other animals into the pictures and workers and tourists. It is a nice modern take on social media which is uplifting about the good it can do. The ending was also satisfying as all characters were happy in the end.

This is so cute! We go on a little journey with an elephant stuffie that got lost from his person, and his new family takes him on adventures before he returns home. Such a cute, comforting story for kids.

Mr. Trunks is accidentally separated from Libby at the airport and is found by Baby who then takes him along on their trip! Oh no, will Mr. Trunks ever be reunited with Libby? Well, Libby’s family has shared online that he’s missing with the hashtag #findingMrTrunks and when Baby’s family posts a picture with Mr. Trunks in it, a helpful comment connects them so they can make plans to reunite them at the end of their vacation.

This book really highlights a positive of social media, that when a community comes together with a common goal it can help facilitate. The illustrations are quirky, emotive and irreverent with both humans and animals everywhere, living their lives. Loved the social media posts of Mr. Trunks being a tourist that hopefully gave Libby some comfort while they were separated.

Very sweet read that was reassuring for my kiddos as the thought of losing a friend has definitely been a concern when traveling. They were glad that these two families approached this with such thoughtfulness and compassion.

Thank you Netgalley for the digital ARC of this book.

This was such a cute picture book about the power of social media and finding your way back to your family. Libby loses her beloved stuffed elephant Mr. Trunks in the airport and this is the journey Mr. Trunks takes to get back to Libby. The illustrations were super cute and story was a fun read.

It was okay. A toy is lost and social media helps reunite him with his owner. The dialogue was sometimes confusing.

This story about a stuffed elephant that got lost at an airport is sweet and adorable. It ends up having a fun adventure in Italy, all documented on social media in order to be returned to its original owner. Lovely read.

4/5 stars.

A very cute and sweet story about the adventures of a lost toy and it's attempts to return to the child it loves.

What I Liked:
I really enjoyed the plot of this story! The way the whole internet banded together to try to reunite Libby and Mr. Trunks was so sweet, and the illustrations resembling social media posts was such a fun little touch to really capture the feel of the journey!

What I Didn't Like:
At times the text felt a bit disjointed. Flipping back and forth between text in Mr. Trunks' head and dialogue between other characters was not clearly marked apart from the color of the text, and extra explanation regarding who it talking at each point might be required when reading the story aloud to young children.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC!

Thoughtful and sincere message to share what you are grateful for. Calming artwork. Portrays social media in a positive light that emphasises connections. Simple plot that shines through the consistent pacing. Flat characters that lack distinct characteristics. Voice of Mr. Trunks lacks wisdom but is abundant in hope. I wish there was a more detailed interaction between Libby and Baby; perhaps an additional page or two would further demonstrate friendship and home. Overall, a good read.

A sweet story about a child who loses her elephant stuffed animal, told from two perspectives. I love how it is made clear which perspective we are reading in from the text color. It's beautifully made, emotional, happy and also funny. The drawings are beautiful. I recommend!

I just reviewed Finding Mr. Trunks by Annemarie Riley Guertin. #FamiliusBooks #NetGalley

My 6 year old loved the book. His favourite part was when Mr Trunks reunited with Libby. It reminded him when he left his own teddy.

The flow was a bit confusing as jumped here and there but the concept of the book was from the viewpoint of Mr Trunks who had gotten lost from his owner Libby at the airport. He embarked on a journey with his temporary family who created social media memories. In the end his foster baby was rewarded with a similar elephant just like him which made him happy.

"Mr. Trunks" is an endearing children's book that tells the story of a stuffed elephant that gets separated from its child at the airport. The book centers around the power of social media and how it can be used to reunite lost items with their owners. The illustrations in this book are exceptional, featuring vibrant colours and beautiful depictions of travelling animals and people from diverse backgrounds.

While the book's central idea of showcasing the positive impact of social media on society is unique, one issue is the lack of specificity in the dialogue, which makes it challenging to determine who is speaking at times. This could potentially confuse the target audience, which is primarily children.

The book's use of Instagram-style posts is adorable and adds a relatable aspect to the story. The book's overall message is heartwarming, and it teaches children about the importance of kindness, resourcefulness, and perseverance.

Mr. Trunks is an adorable stuffie that gets separated from his child at the airport and the power of social media is used to try and reunite them. The illustrations are very well done, colorful and I love the diversity of the traveling people and animals in this story as well as the locations.

While the concept of showing the positivity of social media in a children’s book is unique, the story became muddled midway through. One reason for this is the lack of specification in the dialogue. It becomes unclear who is speaking at times, which can easily become confusing for the age group this book is geared towards. The Instagram type posts were cute and recognizable, however the social media language is a lot at once. My youngest children are 8 and 10, so it was easy to grasp that concept but may be harder for younger ages.

Overall this is a very cute children’s book that I think many will adore and fall in love with.

Feel free follow my social media accounts, I will be sharing my review of this book prior to the publishing date.

This was such a fun adventure story with an underlying message.

What a fantastic story on how if social media is used responsibly then it can be an asset.

The illustrations were endearing and really added to the story.

Finding Mr. Trunks is a heartwarming story about a stuffed elephant named Mr. Trunks who is traveling with his family. While at the airport, his owner, Libby, accidentally lets go of him and the story of returning to her begins.

The story showed the true power of social media and how it can be used as a tool for good. Mr. Trunks found refuge in a new friend he referred to as ‘baby’, and with the help of their family and total strangers who shared his photo around the world, Mr. Trunks discovers not only new friends but a wild trip of his own.

This was such a sweet story that my daughter absolutely loved! Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read it!
