This review is for the audiobook. The narrator was fantastic and I really enjoyed the vibe of the background music, very soothing. I learned lots of interesting facts about female animals and hadn't realized so many species could change sex from male to female. This audiobook would be great to read in conjunction with the print book.

Such a fun, short audiobook with factoids about different female species in the animal kingdom. I felt like I was listening to an Animal Planet documentary. The narration is wonderful and the sounds a delight. I loved learning new facts about popular species and learning about new-to-me species all together.

This was a fun book for kids to learn more about animals. While the narration of the audiobook was great, I definitely would prefer an actual book. I think being able to see pictures of the animals would make the experience much more enjoyable for kids. Overall I found this to be a fun and different book about animals than most I’ve read.

This book offered a surprising amount of animal knowledge I did not know about, which was both shocking and satisfying. Really good narration, relatively smooth flow.

Girls rule! I would definitely read more books by Dr. York.

Recommended for animal lovers, feminists, and folks trying to up their reads-per-month game.

Thank you MacMillan Audio and Netgalley for the Audiobook Arc exchange for an honest review. This was very informative and fun to listen to while learning more about the Queens of the Jungle. This would be very informative to use in Elementary classrooms for the students to learn more about the animal kingdom.

The audiobook reader has a relaxing and vibrant voice. The book itself is brilliant! It’s educational and really cool! I wish I saw photos to go along with the audio. Maybe a website link to look at and listen along as well incase anyone else wants to participate in a digital version?
Otherwise- honestly- what a lovely amazing book!!!! Must have for any major animal lover! :)

I listened to the audio of this book a found it wonderfully informative and enjoyable. Lipica Shah does an amazing narration. Her voice is very lytical and easy to listen to. Additionally, the music and animal sounds give a beautiful background.
I will certainly have to look for the print version so I can see the illustrations. The audio version seems to miss a bit of a flow that must be a visual aspect in the book.

I loved this short audiobook! The animal sounds for each animal as facts were given was so much fun and added a different educational moment to the book. I would like to look at the pictures while listening to this audiobook because the cover is so great. I feel it would add even more to the story. I learned things from this book which isn't easy since I'm an adult and have read a lot about animals in my life. I would highly recommend this book!
