This is a delightful, light, and fluffy supernatural romance. Cassie is returning to her hometown to take care of her beloved grandmother's affairs. She's been away for a decade, in part because she was brutally betrayed by her best friend, Seth, during their senior year. So who should she find breaking into her grandmother's house? Seth. And that's only the start of the weirdness. He reveals that he's a werewolf, and that she's a witch, a powerful one at that, and she can help him. Then comes the mating bond.
It was a lot of fun. The dialogue is ridiculous, in that they have the great and stupid banter that only really good friends end up with after ages of friendship. The magic system is wonderful. It's described as like What We Do in the Shadows, and that's a good comparison. It's a bit silly, and just a lot of fun. There's also a sentient microwave and a raccoon son. Those were my favorite side characters. As a whole, a really fun read.

I loved this!

So cute. Perfect for around Halloween time! Friends-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers is so good and the chemistry between these two is adorable! Making it a shifter/witch romance was just icing on the cake.

I loved the characters, loved their connection, and the growth they each make. 10/10 absolutely go read it!

I enjoyed this one. It's great for spooky season that is just around the corner. Cassandra and Seth were best friends before Seth left her behind for the cool crowd and then becomes her bully. It's not a bully romance though. He very clearly immediately regrets what he does but she was having none of it. Fast forward a decade and she is back at her grandmother's house to clean it out. Seth shows up on the front porch acting strange, looking for her grandma. From there, they start to tenuously rebuild their friendship as she discovers the magic in her and around her. The first half is really cozy and sweet as they reconnect. I loved it. It's in the second half that it started to lose me just a little. It's a tonal shift from sweet and cozy into them both basically becoming the horniest two people ever. Don't get me wrong, I love smut and dirty talk. It just got to be ridiculous that these two couldn't talk about how they were feeling and figure things out more quickly. It got old. They came off like horny, idiotic teenagers with no communication skills whatsoever instead of adults. I could see the revelations at the end coming a mile away, I knew why he acted the way he did and it was just frustrating that they were so scared and couldn't see it themselves. While I understood why he acted the way he did, it was still a weak excuse for doing it. If these two were as close as they claimed to be, it should have been obvious, even with their hang ups.

I still devoured it though, and overall it was a really fun time!

The cover and blurb called out to me, so I grabbed this in an instant. But ended up falling a little bit short for me. It leaned on the tropes a little bit too much for me. And what the FMC endured during high school, I think I would have been happy moving on with my life away from the MMC. However, by the end, I was elated they finally got to be together.

The characters came off a lot younger than they were supposed to be and was hoping they didn't rely on the miscommunication for majority of the story.

Totally bummed this didn't work out for me as much.

I have been sitting on this review for an unreasonable amount of time because I needed time to make my brain stop screaming incoherently about how much I LOVED THIS BOOK.

It’s Never Sweeter’s paranormal spiritual successor in a way that I didn’t know was a) possible and b) every single thing I needed to read in a book. It’s sweet, silly, wondrous, imaginative, utterly deranged and filthy, and a warm cuppa on a cold night kind of read.

I unfortunately was not able to make it through this book. It was a bit too repetitive for me and way too wordy. I got to about 30%. I do think this book has a lot of potential and I know there is an audience for it, it just wasn't for me, though I did find myself giggling at the FMC's inner monologue.

How to Help a Hungry Werewolf by Charlotte Stein is a sizzling romance novel filled with unexpected twists that will left me guessing. This book is perfect for fans of romance who enjoy a combination of passion and tenderness.

This is the best werewolf book I've ever read. From the very first chapter, the intense chemistry between the main characters is undeniable, and the magic is completely delightful. Cassie's journey into learning about magic is filled with the exact right combination of bewilderment and joy--she feels exactly how you would feel if you found out magic was real! Her friendship with Seth is beyond perfect--Seth is sweet and tender and charming and a bit of a himbo. He is absolutely a hero to root for, which is saying something considering how he is introduced in the book! I love Cassie, I love Seth, I want the world for them! The pining is so good, the yearning is so good, the hurt is so good--IT'S ALL SO GOOD. Charlotte Stein has absolutely hit her stride, and I am beyond thrilled that this book is the first in a series rather than a standalone because I cannot get enough of it.

This was a DNF for me. The description sounded promising but it fell flat. I could not connect with the characters.

I appreciate the opportunity to read and review this book. I couldn’t connect with the characters and didn’t like the fat shaming by the MMC. This was a DNF for me.

SO STINKIN' CUTE! I LOVE a good second-chance romance/friends to lovers vibe and this one was chef's kiss! The paranormal aspect of this story was beyond cool and well thought out too! I loved everything about the characters! Seth was the perfect precious Golden Retriever (Werewolf ◡̈ ). Cassie's journey with her body image and perception of herself and how other's see her was very well written and done with care. ◡̈
This book was funny, adorably fluffy, and perfectly spicy. Although... maybe could have used some knotting. Lol. LOVED IT!

DNF'd @ 20%. I really could not get over the fact that he bullied her and fatshamed her in high school. I didnt connect with the character enough to be happy for any sort of redemption arc. Not for me, sorry!

It's a cute and quirky book... but not what I thought it would be. I thought it would be a wolf shifter romance, but it was an actual werewolf. Like the get bit, and change, turn into a monster kind. But it's cute.

Just okay.
I didn’t really feel any connection to the main characters and I honestly didn’t care about the romance.
The book starts off with the mmc fat shaming the heroine, and it just didn’t sit right with me.
Definitely disappointed that I didn’t enjoy this one.

I was initially really excited for this book. The premise seems really fun and I love a good paranormal romance. However, I could not get past the first chapter. The fat-shaming of our female main character by the male main character was completely unnecessary and totally turned me off to the book. I couldn’t get past it.

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book. However, this one was not for me.

This book has fun paranormal world building with unique takes on witches, werewolves, and a whole bunch of other paranormal creatures. I really enjoyed that aspect of the book. Unfortunately the plot just wasn't it for me. It was a mix of second chance and enemy to lovers romance tropes that came out as high school drama aged up to mid twenties with no extra maturity. There was miscommunication through resolutely denying the obvious due to insecurity and I just couldn't get into it. The internalized fatphobia of a at most mid-sized woman (no physical limitations to her curves, just unwanted aesthetics as far as I could tell) was really intense.  The amount of spice was unexpected but well written.

Thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to read this book! Though the concept was charming, I felt like I couldn't connect with the characters in this story . The cover of the book is so cute! I just wish it was more to this book then the cover.

*3.25 Stars*

Cassie hasn't seen her ex best friend Seth, since Seth joined the group of "cool kids" in high school and embarrassed her in front of everyone at the talent show. When Cassie returns to the small town of Hollow Brook after her grandmother passes aways, she is surprised to see Seth at her front door looking for her grandmother. Cassie soon finds out Seth's true relationship with her grandmother. Her grandmother was a cobbler, helping Seth with his Werewolf powers and Seth believes that Cassie is a true witch that can end his suffering with Seth's help. Cassie is interested in learning about her new powers, but can she ever trust Seth again?

This was a fun supernatural romance that was both comedic and filled with spicy scenes. I loved the banter between Cassie and Seth and the ridiculous magic that Cassie conjures up. My biggest downfall for this book was the fat-shamming. I understand the redemption of Seth's character but felt that his actions in high school weren't really explained. Some of the bullying/fat-shamming was not necessary in the book and just felt that it could have been written better. This book did lead to the possibility of more books, and I did enjoy this book enough for me to be curious about future books in this series.

How to Help a Hungry Werewolf comes out October 1st.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to review How to Help a Hungry Werewolf. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan Publishers for the arc.

I really wanted to like this book. I've read, and liked, Charlotte Stein's other books, but I had to DNF at 30%. It took too long to explain that both characters were part of the paranormal world, and it was still being explained at 30%. At that point, I was hoping the story would move on from the explanation period. Unfortunately, it didn't, and I lost interest.
