This story of revenge/ friends to enemies to lovers was so entertaining.

I felt that at some points in the story, the flow got a bit choppy and messy, but overall I was entertained.

I couldn’t get into the story just as I thought. Not disappointed but need more depth, I think. I can't remember when was the last time when I read a book in which the whole plot was 100% equal to what was written in the blurb and nothing more. There was no surprise there, no resolution to any of the plot threads and the whole story was blatantly predictable and painfully dull.

I enjoyed this story. I liked the two MC's, and yes, the prologue actions did get explained, as there was more to the situation than is shown at first. There were some pretty funny scenes in this book, and some steamy spots too. Overall, a good read, and I would read more installments in the series. *I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

This book had some cute moments and I was drawn to the description, but it was pretty tough to read at times. I like the FMC, but her getting bullied was a little hard to read. Not for me, but maybe for someone else!

Oh man….i wanted to love this so much…but boy was this a rough one. I had a hard time reading this after the fat shaming that occurred in the beginning that was supposed to be a prank, but wow that was just bad.

Eep. I did not like this. I had high hopes cause it seemed like it had so much potential. I expected their relationship to be soo much better than what we were given. I can't see how a friends and future romantic partner would hate on their friend and fat shame her for popularity, only to continue being rude and hateful to them. I didn't like these characters and it overall just felt immature

Bully romance is tough, and Charlotte Stein, out of anyone, knows how to thread that needle. I think there's not enough real explanation for what Seth did in high school, though it's very clear he's contrite basically immediately after. There didn't feel like enough about who Seth is, then or now, and both Seth and Cassie feel like they were just plopped down into the world with not a ton happening to them in between the pivotal high school moment and the ten years apart. The world building was mostly just convenient--because Cassie can create potions by feel, she can make anything happen so there are no limits in the world. And the buildup around the town residents didn't quite go anywhere, but it's a series so presumably that will develop further.

The pacing of the story felt off to me, especially with the mating bond reveal so late in the story and the quick way everything was wrapped up at the end. But the banter is fantastic, and Charlotte Stein knows how to write dirty talk better than most in the game. The Halloween vibes are on point, and this will be a good spooky season read.

I saw werewolf and Gilmore Girls and I was sold immediately. I was so excited to read this book because I enjoyed Stein's "When Grumpy Met Sunshine", and I read it almost entirely in one sitting. I've taken the day to process my thoughts and here they are!
Some things I enjoyed: 1) I loved Cassie's sense of humor and the general kookiness of this book. 2) I loved the world of the supernatural and all of the interesting facts, the fairies, the werewolf behavior, the different kinds of witches and all of the details - I am a sucker for a furry friend, and a racoon, I mean, come on. 3) Seth is very frickin cute and I love a werewolf, especially because his character is different from 'generic werewolf'. 4) Their sexual tension is CRAZY. Once they get going oh mama it is steam city.
Some things I wished were different: 1) I love a slow burn, but I wanted them to communicate their desires to each other faster! I kept thinking, you feel this way, and you're both talking about it ... stop being so awkward and do something about it!!! They clearly have great sexual chemistry and tension, I found myself wanting to shake the book and yell at Cassie and Seth, just get together already! 2) This is a cozy book for sure, but I feel like it could have dipped a bit more into the fantasy elements and I would have ate it right up. This is very much a personal preference, I just felt like the book was straddling a line and I would have loved to see more!
Overall, I enjoyed the read. I will be saving some of my laugh outloud quotes to post closer to spooky season :)

I’m flabbergasted because this book had so much potential and I feel like it just didn’t live up to anything. I was excited about the prospect of second chance romance and the supernatural mixed together, but I was let down. It started off with such a good bang and I had a hard time getting thru it.

Right off the bat, I am a total sucker for a modern paranormal story where one character is just now discovering the paranormal. I don't know if there is a specific trope that describes this, but I absolutely love it and was so excited to see this a part of How to Help a Hungry Werewolf. I would have liked to see a bit more world building throughout the book, but the details we were given and how they moved the story forward were really interesting.

In terms of the romance between Cassie and Seth, it was a friends-to-lovers, second chance type situation, and a smidge of bully romance (but barely, like the tiniest bit) and I though Stein did a phenomenal job of making the characters believable and authentic, and this was consistent throughout the book, which made me appreciate it all the more! The way Stein wrote both Seth and Cassie made me really care about both of them and want them to resolve their own issues, Seth struggling with being a werewolf and trying heal the rift between him and Cassie, and Cassie was naturally struggling with being a witch, but also struggling with her own insecurities as well as dealing with the current Seth in comparison to what she remembers him to be.

The spice tied into the plot in a really interesting way and I did think it was all well written while also keeping the sex scenes in line with the way the characters would act.

The main reason I took off a star was the last 20% of the book, particularly the last 10%. The pacing throughout the book was pretty fast, but it did not feel rushed until the end. The end of the book felt very rushed and did fall into the "girl gets magical powers and almost immediately becomes super powerful" that has a tendency to fall into a lot of fantasy books, but I also understand that there is a point where things need to wrap up.

All in all, I really enjoyed How to Help a Hungry Werewolf and will absolutely be reading Stein's other works!

I am going to have to DNF this. I struggled through Charlotte’s first book and somehow thought that this one should be infinitely better but she fixates way too much on dialogue and the rest of the storytelling ends up jarring and sputtering.

I really liked this book but I can see how people could be triggered. As a girl on the snicker side instead of protein bar, I personally wasn’t but if you feel sensitive about your weight or bullies picking on someone for their weight, this book isn’t the one for you.

However, if you can move past that then get ready for the cutest couple ever, in a way that makes me almost want to vomit from cuteness, because they do genuinely care about each other and you can feel in the writing.

Besides that I’m so jealous of the main characters powers. She’s intuitively a witch and just is able to “know” how to do thing which is such an awesome power to have. Everything in the magical world was done to perfection down to the sentient microwave.

Also this book is SMUTTY, at halfway through the characters could whisper something to each other and get off. Which there’s reasons for that but still, I had to stop reading while I was in public.

All in all I liked it, it was an easy read, good for people in a slump as long as you check your triggers. I would read book 2!

If you’re trying to make me fall for a male love interest perhaps don’t include a prologue of him fat shaming the female main character. There’s really no coming back from that for me. Not age, time or maturity can make me like him. He didn't even try. There's no groveling, begging or desperation to rectify his idiocy.

This book relies heavily on one liners and zingers and forgets entirely about any emotion that isn’t explicitly and over dramatically displayed. The banter never stopped and I started losing interest in the romance, then the characters and it wasn’t long before I was only hanging on to the plot by the tips of my fingernails. Then a talking trash panda entered the picture and I promptly DNF’d my second book by this author.

I loved this book - 10/10, no notes. Possibly the horniest book I've read (in the best way possible)? The dirty talk was on point, so if that's your thing, definitely check this out.

This was a really cozy and clever book, perfect for reading in fall when you want something a little spooky but still cute and romantic. I enjoyed the overall concept and plot of the book, but I did struggle with the pacing for the first half because it felt like a lot of world building/character set up and not a lot of actual plot/action happening, though I did really enjoyed uncovering the supernatural world along with Cassandra. (Though I did find the use of the word “mortal enemy” used just a bit too much). Overall it was a really fun read and definitely one that’s best read with a mug of tea in hand!

I really enjoyed this book and that shocked me. I do not normally into these books but I enjoyed it. Also I love a good love story so its not hard to make me happy. With that being said I would def read the book again thats how much I liked it and that is something I rarely say. But do your self a favor and read it.

I was excited to read this magical werewolf book! However, I had some issues reading it and trying to stay on track. I wanted to love it, but I had a hard time liking the characters, especially Seth. I hated that he fat shamed his ex "best friend. "
There was definitely some funny parts, that gave me a good chuckle and I thought it had more potential.
I did think the basic storyline was good, and fun. The author was good with that, and her humor sprinkled throughout.
Again, I appreciate the opportunity to read the book.

Ok. It took me a bit to get in to this one, but I'm so glad I stuck it out! Excellent world building. Really unique story with fabulous characters. Plenty of drama. Plenty of laughs. A nice big scoop of steam/spice though it took a bit to get there.

A decent look at the long term trauma of bullying and fat shaming and it's effects all the way into adulthood.

A great story for horror movie buffs as well.

I can't wait for the next book (fingers crossed for Nancy's story).

I do not like selected below three stars, this was an ok story but got me irritated of the hero the male ex best friend. I felt so sorry for the female lead character. She was fat shamed by this supposed best friend during their last day. So, I was a bit surprised reading along that Grandma was friends with him still. Like hm what, and also if he was friends with the lady wouldn’t he have heard of her passing. Anyways, this story got a bit confusing about these two and how the town didn’t feel embarrassed by their past previous actions towards her. This was an ok story, but read at your own risk.
