I will keep trying Newman's books, but I don't know that I am the target audience. I like the idea of this- a plane crashes into a nuclear power plant and the townspeople need to work together to save... humanity? This had too many characters and was too far fetched for me. I liked Drowning because I felt there were core characters that grounded me to the story... this one had a lot going on, which made it harder for me to really sink in to everything. It was too fast paced for my taste, but I bet I'm in the minority with that.

I absolutely loved TJ's heart-pounding thrillers, Falling (4 stars), and Drowning (5 stars), so I knew I HAD to read Worst Case Scenario! I also loved the mini-series, Chernobyl, on HBO, so I was alllll for the nuclear aspect in the one. It definitely did not disappoint! This is another fast-paced thriller that has you dying to know what happens and how they overcome all the wild challenges they encounter. It is emotional, it is tense, and just when you think all is well, something else happens. There were a lot of characters and storylines to keep up with but once you get them all down it was fine. I still think Drowning is my favorite BUT this was definitely a great read that I recommend to anyone who loves to stay on the edge of their seat!

Just like the other two books this one had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I could not put it down!

Incredible, page turning, fantastic story! I loved this one and know it will be a huge hit at our library. I loved the potential disaster theme that was similar to falling whereas I struggled with her book drowning because it felt more heavy and graphic. This is definitely a favorite author in our library! This would make a great book club book too!

An action-packed adventure that will have you flipping the pages faster than you can read them. While less believable than previous books by T.J. Newman, this title is perfect for thrill-seeking readers.

I have read the previous two novels written by T.J. Newman and enjoyed their unputdownable pages. This book had the same intense, fast paced, emergency feeling that had my heart pounding. I will say this one felt a bit more convoluted and the characters were very easy to get confused. Still enjoyable but hard to follow at times.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are mine alone.

5 stars! It’s fine, I’ll just be over here mopping up my tears. I thought this was a well written, pulse quickening, suspenseful book! Also, the characters were so well written and I became so attached! I don't usually cry in books but I cried reading this one. I’m definitely eager to read her other books. Could definitely see this being made into a movie. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

I enjoyed the heck out of this book- Or think I enjoyed because it about gave me a heart attack.
This is like an action thriller that you get so involved in that I really was wondering what are we going to do next? I'd have totally killed the whole world but still.
Booksource: Netgalley in exchange for review.

an airplane crashes into a nuclear power plant, it is a very suspenful book. wondering what will happen next.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC. The action starts right away in this book. The plane is going down and is going to crash right into a nuclear plant. Everything seems stable for just a split second in the book. The countdown timer on the chapters is super effective at adding an extra layer of intensity. The death in this book was a sad scene as was the epilogue.

What an exciting action packed book with a lot of heart. I really enjoyed this book even though there’s a lot about nuclear power and how it works. I felt that I learned a little bit, but we still able to understand and enjoy the story without having to have all of the scientific knowledge which I’ll be honest I was a little worried about it, but it’s so well written. The characters are all amazing and I found myself rooting for them and it’s also very emotional and that’s why I feel like this book is a very well-balanced book with different emotions and a book that just about anyone can enjoy.

I wanted to like this book but the fact that it took me so long to finish it speaks for itself. I really enjoyed Falling, Drowning not as much and Worst Case Scenario even less so. The premise was there. I listened on audiobook, and it was well read, and I enjoy a disaster movie, and this book had the feel of one but then.... it was just one bad thing after another and by the end I was just ready for it to end. That last chapter just kept going and going and going. And much like Newman's previous book Drowning, all the technical jargon was too much. I respect her for the research she puts in, but I had no idea what she was saying many times. I found my mind checking out when the technical bits would come up. I will continue to give her books a shot with the hope that maybe I will find one that I enjoyed as much as Falling.

Thank you to Little, Brown and Company, and NetGalley for the chance to read and review this book.
Wow! Another nail-biting suspense novel from TJ Newman. I really enjoyed her first two novels, Falling; and Drowning: The Rescue of Flight 1421, so I knew when I saw this one was coming out it would be an auto-read for me. Ms. Newman sure has a way of keeping you on the edge of your seat. My heart ached for every character in this book as they fought to prevent a nuclear meltdown after a commercial airliner crashed into the nuclear power plant in their small town. Action-packed and full of suspense and emotion. Keep them coming TJ Newman! I loved it!!

Another smash hit by T.J Newman, Worst Case Scenario grabs your attention right from the start and kept me reading non stop til the end. Newman does a fantastic job keeping the reader engaged and in the story. I loved how the small town citizens are put in positions where they have to step up and do extroidinary things to stop the worst case scenario from happening. I struggled a little with keeping the characters straight-I feel like I was introduced to so many at the beginning. Other than that, a hands down must read thriller. I received this as both an audio and an electronic version

This book was absolutely amazing. A tragedy occurs on a flight when the pilot suffers a fatal heart attack. The plane goes down, and crashes into a small town that happens to be home to a nuclear power plant. The plane unfortunately has crashed right into that plant, causing many catastrophic consequences. This book was so heart wrenching, so edge of your seat, and so great. I loved it so much, and I can’t wait to read more of Newman’s books in the future!!!

I loved this, and think I could handsell it to such a wide variety of readers—what a gift to a bookseller! No one writes fast paced, edge of your seat, high stakes thrillers like TJ Newman. She is a master of this genre, and I will read anything she writes!

Another excellent, gripping story from Newman. Absolutely could not put this book down, from page one. She hooks you right up until the last sentence.

T.J. Newman has done it again! I was sweating while reading this one on the edge of my seat! Haha! But seriously, I loved Newman’s previous books and absolutely loved them and although this one is a little different, it does not disappoint in the thrill department. I loved the pacing of the story and the title of this book tells you all you need to know!

I was on the edge of my seat once again! I loved the characters and their stories. The author is really great at setting the (terrifying) scene. I would definitely recommend. 4.5 stars rounded to 5!

As with the author's previous books this one is a disaster thriller. It is set around an plane crash and a nuclear power facility. The plotting is very fast paced and the fact that you are left with no time to catch your breath between all the action is my only minor quibble with this book. It is also in a weird way the strength of the riveting story though, as author gets you caught up in the anxiety and stress of the events. I really enjoyed this entertaining adrenalin rush of a novel. Thanks to NetGalley for the digital advance reading copy. 4.25/5
