I have read all of TJs books. This
One by far is the most exciting and gut punching of them all!!!!

I cried. I laughed. I cheered. Somehow she made me care for all the characters, the town, and the plant and had me wondering long after I finished how “everyone” was holding up years later lol.

I have loved the two previous novels I have read by TJ Newman and was thrilled to hear about this latest thriller, Worse Case Scenario. I love stories about airplanes and was happy to get my hands on an eARC of this novel to read and review.

This was an edge of your seat novel that will have you flipping the pages to see what was going to happen next. Many different POV's and many twists and turns to entertain you until the very ending, you will love this novel.

This was amazing, I finished it in less than 24 hours. It only even took me that long because I had to sleep.

What happens when a plane crashes into a nuclear power plant? With heart-pounding action from the very first page, this book is full of heart and sacrifice and love and action and excitement! I don’t know what drug T.J. Newman puts in her books, but I am obsessed with all of them, and they have all been EASY 5-star reads for me! I always stay up way too late because I can’t stop reading! And yes, I did cry at the end 😭

Many thanks to NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for the opportunity to read before pub day! ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. WORST CASE SCENARIO is out now!

Look, if TJ Newman writes it, I'm gonna read it. I have loved all three of Newman's novels thus far, and am eager for whatever she writes next. Worst Case Scenario has higher stakes than any of her previous works, and I loved it! The novel is truly terrifying at times, but also has some truly uplifting moments. I loved this book!

A lot of books are marketed as thrillers, but very few actually get my pulse racing. T.J. Newman’s books are the exception to that rule.

As a former flight attendant, Newman knows lots of technical details around planes and air travel, and her first two books definitely showcased that, along with her ability to make those elements digestible for readers. When I picked up her latest, Worst Case Scenario, I was expecting more of the same, but she really threw a curveball with this one.

An aviation disaster is the catalyst for Worst Case Scenario, but the majority of the novel focuses on what happens after the plane crashes, which already sets this apart from her other titles. Also, instead of focusing on just a few key characters, Newman introduces a large cast of characters – local residents, power plant employees, and even the President – that all play a role in the disaster response. Even with these changes to her formula, the story really works! I think Falling will always be my favorite, but it was refreshing to see a change in setting as a reader, even if some of the characters felt a little 2D.

One of the things I love most about Newman’s writing is how cinematic her stories feel. There’s a reason film rights have been snapped up so quickly and I can’t wait to see one of her books make it to the big screen. The pacing and emotional elements work so well on the page, but they also match the energy of a lot of early 2000s disaster movies, like Independence Day or The Day After Tomorrow (a personal favorite of mine). If you like action movies, definitely add this one to your TBR!

Worst Case Scenario is out now. Thanks to Little, Brown and Company and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I couldn't wait to read T.J.'s latest book and it didn't disappoint. When a pilot suffers a heart attack, the plane filled with passengers crashes into a nuclear power plant in the small town of Waketa, Minnesota. This is catastrophic even with global implications. This thriller will keep you up at night and turning the pages as fast as you can. No plot spoilers here. get the book and read it!

TJ Newman has done it again! She has quickly become a go to author for me! Her books. Falling and Drowning, were incredible but this newest read is even better! Newman writes about the scariest moments in flying and puts them all on the pages. Outstanding read!

I wasn't sure how Newman was going to pull off yet another thriller involving a plane crash, but this one was even better than "Falling" in my opinion! I think it was because the setting is larger than just an aircraft. "Drowning" was still well-researched, but I felt it dragged in parts because the author had to explain all the scuba and underwater rescue equipment.

Fast-paced, with Wholesome characters you want to root for, this is a Solid thriller.

I like Newman's novels and find them really thrilling, but I have a hard time loving them because I just get so stuck in the technical details and the content becomes hard to follow. All of Newman's book have truly horrifying and scary subject matter, but it really just gets difficult for me to visualize what is happening when I don't even understand half of what is being described. Maybe that's on me, but I have a feeling the general public doesn't know as much about a nuclear power plant as Newman expects readers to know in this novel. Overall enjoyed it for the most part but I would definitely enjoy more if it wasn't so technical and instead we got more insight into the characters.

There is something about T. J. Newman’s books that is so unbelievably captivating! The plots are wild rides that can feel completely unbelievable, but they are so easy to get caught up in. Worst Case Scenario is no exception to that. I’ve read all of Newman’s novels, and I love this one just as much as the first two!

Worst Case Scenario features a decently sized cast of characters who you are almost guaranteed to get invested in. The idea of a plane crashing into a nuclear plant is honestly horrifying, and, admittedly, not something I had considered being a possibility before reading this. The horror feels real and tangible and impossible to overcome. I’m not sure that my heart rate slowed down for even a minute of my reading experience!

If you love intense, fast-paced books, Newman is absolutely an author that I recommend to you. Worst Case Scenario is a perfect summer thriller that I will recommend to anyone who likes a book that keeps them on the edge of their seat.

Thank you to NetGalley, T.J. Newman, and Little, Brown and Company for the free ARC in exchange for my unbiased review.

Thank you @littlebrown for this ARC of Worst Case Scenario (out now!)

It’s spooky season y’all so it’s time for a very haunting review!!! After I read this book I googled so much information about nuclear reactors that I am probably on a list (: it is fine I am fine and we will probably all be fine.

This, like every book TJ has written, has scorched me down to my very bones.

The moments of levity woven into such outright horror and dismay make everything so much starker and more human. Every character she writes tugs on my heartstrings and brings tears to my eyes.

Tragedy after tragedy after tragedy hits, from the changed love between two friends, to the strained father-son relationship in the wake of the loss of a wife and mother, to the I uninhibited determination and grit of a firefighter reaching for a little boy in a van. Every scene is gut-wrenching and yet again and again you feel both the flicker of hope and the sinking fear that it will be short-lived.

And yet, in spite of that, the underlying current is of human connection and the resilience that can be found in the absolute whirlwind of a worst case scenario. The knowledge that yes, when it comes down to it, there will always be people who both know what needs to be done and are willing to do it for the sake of others, sometimes at great personal cost.

TJ Neman does it again with palpable energy that flows off the pages and grips you with icy terror as you imagine a harrowing scenario written all too close for comfort. It’s bold and beautiful.

When a plane crashes into a nuclear power plant in rural Minnesota, the first thought is a terrorist attack. But the more information that comes to light reveals that while it was an accident, the domino effect to the nation will be catastrophic.

As the town of Waketa comes together to help its citizens and prevent the power plant from going into a full Cherynobl meltdown, the new President is forced to make some difficult decisions.

💭My Thoughts:
…ummm just go read this book. It was heart stopping! No joke, in the first chapter my jaw dropped and I gasped and that continued through the rest of the book! TJ Newman does it again, with another bingeworthy thriller.

WOW! T.J. Newman's books just get better the more she writes.

I enjoyed Falling, adored Drowning, but Newman takes it to a whole new level with Worst Case Scenario. This author creates nightmares you didn't even know existed in your brain by tackling the concept of a plane crash hitting a nuclear plant. I also loved this book because it was set in Minnesota (although I had a heck of a time trying to find out where the fictional town of Waketa would be...perhaps she was thinking Big Lake or Monticello based on her description?)

I will continue to gobble up T.J. Newman's books...they are written like a movie you imagine in your mind...fast-paced, nail biting, edge of your seat kind of reading.

Bravo!

I found this to be an incredibly entertaining story. I love disaster stories, and this one did not disappoint. I could tell the author put a lot of effort into getting information about nuclear plants, their hazards, and their maintenance. I have no complaints, only one suggestion. I would have preferred to have fewer main characters, though Ethan, Joss, Steve, Dani, and the citizens of Waketa kept me cheering for all of them.

Oh my gosh! Please don't ever stop writing books!! This author has such a unique way of grabbing your attention, getting your heart pumping, terrifying you and then hitting you in all the feels - like how do you even do this??

This story was no different - from the first pages I was engrossed in this story. I picked a Sunday to read because I knew I would read right through and not be able to put it down and I was right.

It is crazy, its so immediate. I dove in, the facts are given, then this crazy incident starts and therr is debris flying everyone, you heart rate rises. Its terrifying and exhilirating and just everything I want in a thriller. I connected with the characters and felt every single emotion while reading and when its over - I just want to read more.

I will easily recommend these author to anyone and everyone. Its a way to work through these fears that are actually kind of real but a long shoy at happening.

Thank you!!

What a THRILLER this is from the first page and all the way through! Do you want a book that is explosive, riveting and heart-stopping? This is it! I don’t think my heart has stopped pounding since finishing! Pick this one up if you’re looking for an action-packed, hold-on-to-your-seat story that will have your heart racing! You will appreciate the small-town heroes that risk their lives to save others. I loved the way the author wrote another thrilling plane story and I chose to listen to this as an audiobook and the narrator, Joe Morton did an excellent job. He really delivered the believability and I got goosebumps and was tearful few times. I highly recommend this.
