An absolutely fabulous read! Dynamic characters and the western setting make this a winner. Teddy and Gus are adorable! I can't wait for the next installation.
This is my favorite so far from Rebel Blue Ranch, which is surprising since I loved book two an unbelievable amount. The tension is top notch. Teddy and August's dynamic is a classic through romance books: they hate each other, or so they think. As they spend the summer together, with half of it meaning they're living in the same house, they realize they don't know the other as well as they thought. The pay off is explosive, and unputdownable.
Thank you so much Random House for this e-arc in exchange for an honest and free review!
I wish I could tell you every single little thing about this book but just know that I absolutely adored it and as soon as I was done I immediately wanted to start it again!!
The first scene where we see Teddy and Gus interact with set the tone for the entire first action of the book. I cannot get over my love of these two!! And you all know I go on and on about how children are written in romance or books in general but Gus’s daughter is simply perfect and we love her!! And some amazing coparenting is on display here!! I’ve been in my single dad romance era along with my cowboy and sports romances lately!
Lyla has done it again! I fell in love with her series and read them each in one sitting. This book had a swoon worthy plot with a kick of spice!
Oh my goshhhh. Teddy and Gus have my ENTIRE heart. I love them so much. Seeing them finally admit their attraction to one another and then finallyyyyy admit their feelings was such a fun ride!!!
My favorite of the series!! I ate it up and spit it out and ate it up again!!! Love love loved the characters and story! So fun and the best tropes.
I was so excited for Teddy’s book (she was the standout side character in the first two books) but I just cannot with Lyla Sage’s sex scenes. Mustache ride?! I actually gagged reading that sentence. Her word choice leaves a lot to be desired.
There was so much potential here, but it all fell flat. The snarky banter between Teddy and Gus I remember from the other books is gone. They fall for each other super fast but it’s all told, not shown. They talk about really enjoying quiet domestic moments together over the summer but there’s almost none of that shown on page? Teddy and Riley (the kid she’s nannying) might honestly have more on page time together than Gus and Teddy.
Overall, this was a disappointment - lack of on-page character growth and chemistry plus cringe-worthy sex scenes continue to make this series a miss for me.
don’t know where to start with the epicness that is Lost & Lassoed but Lyla Sage gave me everything I wanted and more with Teddy and Gus! If I could give this book infinity stars I would. It is a true loathe to love story so the banter is just chef’s kiss🤌🏻🤌🏻. There’s just so much to say but I don’t want to give too much away.
Not only is the relationship between Teddy & Gus so good, the relationship between Teddy and her dad had me calling my dad just to talk. Not to mention how cute Riley is and her bond with Teddy was so special. Thank you so much @thedialpress and @randomhouse for the arc, I’m already wanting to have a reread!
Tropes:
✨Loathe to love
✨Best friend’s brother
✨Single dad
✨Forced proximity
✨Banter
Teddy loses her job and finds herself babysitting for her best friend’s niece. And falling for the single dad she’s helping out.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me an early copy in exchange for a review! I have been highly anticipating this book and I was so so excited to receive the email telling me that I had gotten approved for an arc! I am happy to report that "Lost and Lassoed" did not disappoint! It had almost everything I hoped for. I enjoyed the steamy scenes (don't get me wrong!!!) but I was also touched and surprised by how much heart this book had. It delved into the complexities of friendship relationships and parent-child relationships in ways that were both beautifully and painfully honest. I loved how Gus and Teddy were able to let their guards down and find comfort, support, and love with each other. This was such a joy to read and I flew through it very quickly.
My one small complaint is how short this book was! I wish we were able to see more of Gus and Teddy's relationship progression, even if it was just the smaller, more mundane moments that come with falling in love. The relationship in this book progressed in a way that felt natural, but quick and I found myself wishing for more. Overall, I enjoyed this book and will be recommending it to readers!
I love this book. I think Lyla Sage created Augusts and Teddys characters so well. I cannot wait to see what happens next at Rebel Blue Ranch!
Easily and officially my new favorite Rebel Blue Ranch novel! Gus & Teddy absolutely light up the page with their electric banter and dynamite chemistry. I liked them both in previous books, but they shine taking center stage in their own story.
August & Theodora are one of those couples who you kind of wonder "would they actually be compatible long term?" until you see them spend more time with each other, show themselves the soft underbelly they don't let others see, and realize "oh my god – they're literally perfect for each other."
Riley (Gus' daughter) and Hank (Teddy's father) were true highlights of this book for me. More than just the story of two people falling in love, this book is a love letter to fathers and daughters. It was so special seeing these two characters add so much life and heart into the narrative. Plus, seeing Hank & Teddy definitely helped cure some of my daddy issues.
I loved my time reading this and would heartily recommend it to anyone who loves a good cowboy romance, a best friend's brother trope, single dad x nanny, or honestly anyone who's on the hunt for a couple that has that magic IT factor.
This is my first Lyla saga book ( don’t come for me , I know this is the third book in the series but I’m not too concerned about the reading order )
The book started off strong—I really enjoyed the first 30%, especially the banter between the characters. However, it went downhill from there. Neither of the main characters showed any real development, and their relationship felt very shallow. The progression from their first kiss to being in a full relationship happened way too quickly, without building an emotional connection, which is crucial for me in romance books. Instead, their relationship seemed to be based mostly on physical attraction. As the story went on, I found myself forcing through the repetitive writing. The nicknames, particularly from his side, were cringy . when I finally learned the reason behind their "enemies" dynamic, I was really disappointed—I expected something much more compelling.
I don’t think it was a bad book, but I definitely expected more from the characters. That being said, there were aspects I enjoyed, like Gus’s daughter, Teddy’s bond with her, and how friendships were portrayed. Despite my disappointment, I’m still looking forward to Cam's story in the next book. I’m not ready to give up on this author just yet.
Thank you Netgalley and Random house for the Arc . The Arc was provided in exchange for my honest review

The perfect follow up to the first 2 books in the series!! I was so excited for Teddy & Gus’ story and Lyla Sage did NOT disappoint!! This was the sweetest, most heartfelt single dad, enemies to lovers story I’ve read in ages, and I loved every minute of the 5 hours it took me to absolutely devour this book. 10/10 would recommend.
Arguably Sage’s best instalment yet. The chemistry was perfect in this enemies to lovers story between Teddy and Gus. We were tantalized with their dynamic in previous books and the slow burn that evolved as our leads finally decided to unravel in-front of each other was so satisfying.
4.5 stars!
Miss Lyla Sage has done it again! I absolutely LOVED Gus & Teddy! It was giving major loathe to love with forced proximity & single dad/temporary nanny and the tender moments between them had me !!! and the tension? Immaculate. Between the tension, the chemistry, the caretaking, the way they loved each other, this was such a delightful addition to the Rebel Blue Ranch series.
I think my favorite part about this novel was Emmy & Teddy's friendship!! I think everyone deserves a cosmic, written in the stars, soulmates-type of friendship that these two have.
I am so so so excited for the next book in the series, it was set up so well!
This was a dup review for some reason. i have already submitted it......................................
WOWWWWW I never want this series to end and I will be devastated when it does with the next book!!
I've been absolutely FERAL for the Gus x Teddy enemies-to-lovers romance since book 1 and Lyla did not leave me disappointed! Their dynamic shuffles through so many ups and downs, and you can really tell that they're made for each other by the time the book is over. At their core, they're two people who are used to making sure everyone else is taken care of--but who takes care of them? They understand each other on a deep level, and Teddy brings the perfect amount of sunshine into the grumpy single-dad's life.
Honestly I can't recommend this book & this series in general enough!!! I would move to Meadowlark right now if I could!
I’m a big Lyla Sage fan and I really liked this book. I had been waiting for their love story through the first two books and I love the interconnected storylines of the books. It was really fun and I always want to hang out on the ranch.
Lost and Lassoed is the third installment in Lyle Sage's Rebel Blue Ranch series. The single dad trope seems to be really taking off in these contemporary romance novels and tie it in to a cowboy romance as well? OKAY!
