How do emotions, and secrets and self-worth impact your financial life? Far more than you realize it turns out. A huge part of being good with money starts with how you treat yourself and how you expect others to treat you. Michelle Arpin Begina learned the hard way about how to be good with money and she wants to save the reader from making the same money mindset mistakes.
One such mistake is what she calls the “Poverty of prosperity” a term for when we make a lot of money but keep little of it. Michelle writes, “Simply put, it means being financially and emotionally bankrupt. Big-picture, it refers to situations where there is a lack of wealth and resources despite the presence of economic growth and opportunity. The poverty of prosperity is when people don’t benefit from the resources and opportunities that they have. On a personal level, it’s spending more than what is coming in. It’s over-committing financially.” There’s so much wise advice in this book that will up your financial emotional wellbeing. Highly recommend.

I received an advanced reader copy of Be Good With Money from Netgalley and thoroughly enjoyed it. I frequently read finance books, but this must-read was different in an amazing way!

In addition, she provides actionable steps to change your money narratives. Thanks to her, I uncovered limiting thoughts and vowed to shed toxic childhood moneyisms.
I highly recommend this book to anyone willing to do a deep dive into their financial life.

This was a terrific book. Where was this woman when I was growing up and finally got a job? I wasted a lot of time that I could have benefitting from financially.

Helpful and informative. One of my goals this year was to have a better handle on my money story. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. I learned a lot of tips and practical advice from the book. I especially liked how there are fill in pages at the end of the book.
