Great read. I definitely didn't realize how that was going to end. My mind was thrown in several different ways as to who was who! I love the psychological twists. Definitely a book I'd recommend.

I am not a fan of Freida McFadden. I have tried a few of her books and, though she is very popular, I have decided that her work is just not my cup of tea.

She has all the elements of a good writer with a good story: dramatic, decently paced plot, fantastic plot twists you never see coming. I can see why people love her work...I just can't seem to get into them. I think its that I just can't seem to like her characters that puts me off her books.

I know she needs no help from me to get readers and sales. We can't keep her on the shelves here at our library.

I can respect the craft and will give it 3/5 stars even if I didn't like it all that much.

Twisty, addictive, and everything you expect from a Freida McFadden thriller! The Boyfriend kept me guessing with every chapter—just when I thought I had it figured out, the rug was yanked out from under me. The pacing was spot-on, the characters were layered with just the right amount of suspicion, and that ending? Chillingly satisfying.

This was one of those books I picked up thinking I’d read a few chapters before bed and then stayed up half the night because I had to see how it played out.
I don’t want to spoil anything, but the twists genuinely got me. There were moments when I thought, Oh, I know exactly where this is going, and then it flipped on me. I love that. The pacing is fast, but not rushed like you’re being fed these bits of information that keep you guessing everyone’s motives.

The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden is another twisty, addictive read that grabs you from page one and doesn’t let go. Just when you think you have it all figured out, McFadden throws in one of her signature curveballs.

Short chapters and tight pacing make this a true binge-read, and the suspense builds in all the right ways. It’s the kind of book where you have to keep reading just one more chapter… and then suddenly it’s 2 a.m.

If you love psychological thrillers with unreliable characters, shocking turns, and a satisfyingly wild ending — this one’s for you.

Another McFadden unexpected ending. I don’t know how she comes up with these twists at the end of her books. You know you don’t have it figured out if you think you have it figured out. The Boyfriend was one I just couldn’t put down; I read it in one sitting. The twists and turns keep you guessing throughout the story.

I continue to read Freida McFadden's books because they are so popular by library patrons. But, I just don't get the hype. This book is no exception. From the simplistic writing style to characters that are not fully developed, The Boyfriend is more of a middle-grade suspense novel than an adult mystery.

You think you know but I promise you you don't know! This book left my jaw on the floor right until the very end. NOTHING was predictable. I was so sure I finally figured out one of her books and boy was I wrong! If you love fast paced, can't put down books then read this! I read it in 1 day and really hope there's a sequel!

Frieda McFadden did it again! Love all of her books and this one is no different. The twists and turns keep coming right up u til the very end. 5/5!

I enjoyed reading this book. I liked the twists and didn't guess the ending. I like that it kept you guessing what was going to happen though the book.

Another great read from the queen of suspense! Every time you think you have it figured out, McFadden gives us another twist to keep us guessing. One of her best!

When I first finished this book I gave it a 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ but the more I think about it I’m giving it a 3 .5⭐️⭐️⭐️.

I really enjoyed the “then” chapters with Tom. I loved that storyline. I didn’t however like the present it seemed like the whole chapter was answering her moms calls and wondering why she didn’t have grandkids yet 🙄

Also, I did like the ending and that they ended up together.

The storyline however was just not executed well to me.

Freida did it again! I was dying to know what happens next. Just when I thought I had it figured out, I didn't.

Frieda, you've done it again, I thought I had the twist figured out but I was way off wasn't even a though in my mind on who it turned out to be. This book was written so well I felt like I was in the story right along with the characters.

I’m not sure how Freida keeps coming up with all of these ideas that no matter what cannot be guessed. Full of twists and the characters are well developed. Finished this in one day!
