I loved this one, you never quite know the twist that’s going to happen with Freida’s books. I would definitely recommend 4.5/5 stars

Thank you ‘NetGalley and the publisher for a DRC.
Freida McFadden does it again with The Boyfriend! Despite Sydney being a vapid, insecure, and truly unlikable protagonist, I couldn’t stop devouring this book. Her flaws, while frustrating, only added to the intrigue, making me eager to see how the dual POVs would intertwine. The pacing kept me hooked from start to finish, and just when I thought I had it all figured out, that twist came out of nowhere. McFadden masterfully builds suspense, leaving you guessing and questioning every detail. If you’re a fan of shocking, cleverly woven thrillers, this one is a must-read!

Thank you Netgalley and Poisoned Press for a gifted copy of McFaddens newest thriller, " The Boyfriend". I think McFadden is the newest James Patterson with popcorn thrillers that keep you guessing up until the end, and her newest did not disappoint! In the present day,Sydney is having the worst luck with dating apps, and after one particular bad date a random stranger rescues her. She feels an instant spark and then is surprised when he doesn't ask for her number. The book is also narrated in the past tense by Tom, who is a young boy who struggles with violent urges that he tries hard to suppress, who happens to have young girls disappearing in his town. The two stories seamlessly work together, and while I did guess the shocking ending ,it was still a book I couldn't put down.

The queen of thrillers has done it again! Truly her most twisty read since “Never Lie”.. This book will draw you in,convince you that you’ve got the entire story figured out, only to then make you realize you never really knew anything at all

I really enjoyed the book. It was highly engaging, though there were times when the main character’s actions didn’t quite feel plausible, especially given her background. The story was definitely entertaining and full of surprises. The twists and turns were fun to follow, and Freida did a fantastic job delivering her signature unexpected plot developments. I gave the book a 4 due to the writing being rudimentary, lacking complexity and depth, nuanced ideas and I felt that a few of the characters were underdeveloped . Overall, an easy read with unexpected plot twist.

Freida does it again, with her another wonderful thriller. You never know what the epilogue might hold!!

Very amazing. I was honored to be an ARC reader for this book and listening to it just made it even better. As always Freida delivers a good story with a twist you don’t see coming. I can predict most thriller books but as usual she gave me a twist that I didn’t even fathom. Loved every moment of this book and can’t wait for the next one

Wow wow wow! Another brilliant mystery filled with twists and turns. Super well written, I loved this book. I think Freida writes better with each book, creating gripping and page turning stories. I think this book is my favourite of hers so far! As always, you think you know the twist just to find out you're totally wrong! Highly recommend!

To THINK I had this one figured out…SMH. I should’ve known better with a Frieda book! I was shocked to say the least, I was not expecting it and my jaw hit my lap when I read the words!
Another great book Frieda, well done 👍 👏🏼

Per usual with a Freida book, twist and turns galore!i read the entire book in one sitting! I wasn’t sure what think about the 2 different point of views. I usually don’t like that but it worked well and I didn’t get confused.

Freida never fails to surprise us at the end! I was not seeing that ending coming. I did think everyone at some point was the murderer because I know that she throws in some twists!

Happy publication day!!
Thank you NetGalley, Poisoned Pen Press and Freida McFadden for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. My Rating: 4/5 Stars
Brief Synopsis: Sydney Shaw has a great job, apartment, friends-- the only thing missing is Mr. Right! After failed relationships and Cynch dates she starts to feel hopeless about finding the one. Until she meets “mystery man”.
My perspective: I enjoyed the alternating points of view and dual timelines. I felt there were strong characters developed and I was invested in learning about them (past and present). I am not sure if I have just picked up on Freida's writing (I have read almost all of her books after all) but it was a little too predictable at times. I also felt like some storylines were far fetched and unrealistic( ie: Tom's father). I didn't love that Sydney was extremely naive. I feel like she was a smart, successful woman who shouldn't fall under the "single girl desperate for love trope". The ending was unexpected but I felt like it had no resolution. I am not sure if this was intentional so there could be a 2nd book?

This is definitely my favourite of all of Freida McFadden's books. I read this in such a short space of time because I didn't want to put it down! I really thought I had figured it out and was shocked by the ending. Another fantastic, thrilling read.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

As with every Frieda McFadden book, this one did not disappoint! I domt understand how she can write tjeae books that just constantly keep you stumped until the very end! And if course on the edge of your seat! I could not put this book down! As always, a wonder read from this author!

The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden is a fast-paced, suspenseful thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end. Sydney Shaw, like many women in New York, has struggled with dating until she meets the seemingly perfect man—a charming doctor who sweeps her off her feet. But as a series of brutal murders grip the city, Sydney begins to suspect her dream boyfriend may not be who he seems. The tension builds as Sydney realizes someone is watching her every move, and the stakes become terrifyingly high.
I really enjoyed this book! Freida McFadden, as always, delivers an incredible twist that will leave readers shocked. The dual timelines of past and present and multiple perspectives add depth and complexity to the story, making it even more engaging. Each chapter reveals new layers of suspicion, and I found myself constantly second-guessing the characters' motives. Everything comes together in the end but with a bang! If you're looking for a thrilling, edge-of-your-seat read with a fantastic twist, The Boyfriend is a wild ride you won’t want to miss!
Thank you to the Frieda McFadden, Poisoned Pen Press and Netgalley for an arc of this in exchange for an honest review!

This has to be Frieda’s best book yet! I received an ARC and it kept me hooked from start to finish, even when I was sure I knew the ending, there was a plot twist that kept me guessing. A true thriller that will leave you left thinking about it all even when you finish.

Yet another great book by Freida. I swore by page 188 I had it figured it out and in true McFadden fashion I was severely whiplashed by the twists at the end.

This is probably my new favorite Frieda book! Just when I thought I figured it all out, I was wrong! I could not put this book down! Such a great job at keeping me hooked!

I’m flopping between 4 & 5 stars,so I’ll just say 4.5.
I really enjoyed this book by Freida, when I need something fun and engaging I know she will deliver! Written in “before” and “now” storylines, I couldn’t wait to see how they were sewn together. I thought the writing from the “kids” point of view was a little juvenile, they are supposed to be high schoolers but at times felt as though they were acting like middle schoolers (which is why I’m deducting a partial star). They story was engaging and I couldn’t wait for the opportunity to read more. And the twist! Oh she always has a great twist. Here I thought I had it figured out, then, BAM, nope.

I enjoyed this new book! Great characters that kept you guessing who they really are. Love the twists, as always.
