My children and I had a great time reading this book together. I especially appreciated all the clever references to the horror genre and the creative character names, though most of those went over my kids’ heads. We also really enjoyed the mystery that Theodora and her friends are intent to solve, which was both interesting and laced with just the right amount of humor.

Thank you so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc of this one in exchange for an honest review!
This book follows a young girl who is being raised by monsters. She has to help her family when things start going awry.
This is the second book in the series and I didn't read the first. I think I would have liked it a bit more if I did read the first and got to know the characters a little better.
This was a fun kids book though. It was full of fun picture and some spooky stuff. This would be a good read around Halloween. I think a lot of kids will enjoy this one.
