This was a great ending to the series! It was engaging and really took care of the characters and the answers they needed

The second half of a duology (book 1: The Witch’s Lens), The Wolf’s Eye picks up where book 1 ends. Set in Prague, Poland during WWI, Petra and her crew hunt for a cure for the vlkodnak curse (werewolf) to save one of their own from being hunted. Eastern European magic and lore, alchemy and science anchored this fantasy tale. I really enjoyed the heavy emphasis on scientific alchemic processes and discoveries. I also really enjoyed the subtitle subplot of Petra and Josef’s slow burn romance. Having it be so subtitle, made the reader savor every detail.

For the audiobook, Shalan was a treat to listen to. I greatly enjoyed her ability to provide character variances and accents. I’d happily listen to more of her performances.

Thank you to NetGalley, Luanne G. Smith, and Brilliance Audio for the audiobook ARC.

I would like to thank NetGalley for giving me an audio-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Picking up directly after the first book, we follow Petra and her new friends as they try and help one of their own break their curse while simultaneously unraveling Petra's own past. I actually enjoyed this book more than the first. I found the way the reveals were done as everything came together was a lot more entertaining and had me at the edge of my seat.

I'm also super happy that the slowest burn romance ever is finally developing. Still not completely there, but it's getting there!! Otherwise, I found myself enjoying this book so, so much. I loved the magic, the way its embedded into the history and world, and all the explanations for why Petra is the way she is

The audiobook was fantastic and well done, and the narrator did an amazing job bringing this book to life.
