"To-Dos: Haven't told her I'm a vampire. Must do that ASAP"
This was a delightfully fang-tastic read, I cannot stop smiling! Reginald's quirkiness had me consistently laughing, and it made me want to reread My Roommate is a Vampire. I like how we also got a tiny bit of Frederick & Cassie (every interaction with Freddie is hilarious), without them taking over the story. I want a third book!
Regionald's urge to care for Amilia in so many aspects of her life had me swooning over his sweetness, and giggling over his attempts at locating and preparing food for her - new wonderful book boyfriend alert!
I enjoyed so many additional components of this story, the bullet journaling had me cackling and his "Pros/Cons" list may have been one of the sweetest things I've EVERY seen! The Discord names and chats were spot on, it was hilarious how much he genuinely wanted to chat history with her dad.
In addition to being a bloody great romcom, there were also some great life lessons thrown into the mix. So many of us get caught up in our jobs and put off enjoying life because we're just "too busy.", I loved this little nugget from Reginald:
"The problem with young people is not that they're lazy. It's they think they have unlimited time. So they postpone the fun parts of life thinking they can get to those later. Only at the end do they realize how badly they squandered...well. Everything."
I definitely recommend checking this out if you enjoy:
🩸Fake Dating
🩸Forced Proximity
🩸Cinnamon roll MMC
🩸A bit spicey
🩸Vampire & Human
🩸Lighthearted & fun
** SPOILERS below if you care to see a few of my favorite "Pros" portion of the Pros/Cons list from the bullet journal:
5. I haven't made love to her yet and I REALLY want to. (I think she would enjoy it tbh)
6. I would devote the rest of my existence to making her happy and I think (???) she would enjoy that
7. Continued proximity to a real live historian (her Dad)
Thank you Netgalley, for this eARC! My opinions are my own.

I adored the first book in this series, but this one just did not live up to the hype. The storytelling jumped around so much it was difficult to follow, and I didn’t really like either of the main characters. The first book was cringe in a fun way, but this one was just cringe.

This book was so much fun. i really liked the first, My Roommate is a Vampire, and was thrilled that we got Reginald's story too. He's just an adorable golden retriever of a vampire and his bullet journaling just makes him that much more adorable. I really appreciated how straight forward he was with Amelia in their relationship, even if she didn't believe him at the start. Amelia herself was a lovely main character to follow and her slightly toxic but still loving family felt very real. And its really fun for this emo/spooky millennial to read about vampires again. All around a great book, will be recommending this one and the first!

What a great book! Loved this story so much. Well written and a quick read. Could not wait to find out what was in store for Amelia and Reggie. Thank you NETGALLEY for the ARC. Will definitely recommend this to vampire/romance readers!

Following on the heels of last year’s hilarious My Roommate is a Vampire comes Jenna Levine’s second book in the series, My Vampire Plus One. This one follows Reginald Cleaves, Frederick’s chaotic best friend from the first book as he finds love in the form of straight-laced accountant Amelia Collins.
As the title suggests, the plot kicks off when Amelia finds herself in need of a plus-one for an upcoming family wedding, unwilling to keep fielding comments from her parents about the state of her non-existent love life. Fate literally brings Reginald crashing into her life, and the two enter into an agreement: they will fake-date until the wedding, keeping their relationship as strictly minimal as the ruse requires.
The ruse itself is fairly straightforward, as the two get along right away. There’s the minor issue of Reggie being a vampire, but even that doesn’t seem to pose much of a problem for Amelia - or so he thinks. Really, other than the fact that his being a vampire leads to some bizarre behavioral ticks, a lot of the relationship in the book is actually founded on just the two of them wanting to get to know each other better, and their developing friendship. They’re a pair that come respectively with baggage, and like the best love stories the heart of the story is in how they navigate that as the fake dating starts to turn not-so-fake.
I will say, without spoiling it, there’s one element to vampire stories that tends to stress me out - it even happened in My Roommate is a Vampire - that this book not only brought up in a way that I didn’t mind, but that also gave me hope for the way that particular element might get resolved in future books in the series. I may be projecting or wishful thinking, but either way, Levine has crafted a delightful, laugh-out-loud love story I am so glad I sank my teeth (ha) into.
My Vampire Plus One hits shelves on September 17, 2024. Special thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for the advance copy for review purposes.

“But for you, I would brave a blizzard just to see you smile.” - Reginald Cleaves
✨ My Vampire Plus-One is the follow-up to My Roommate Is A Vampire, and it’s all about Amelia Collins, the sister of Sam Collins. Amelia accidentally meets Reginald and asks him to be her fake date for a family wedding, but she ends up miscalculating everything.
✨ WAAAAHHHH!!! OMG!!! I was so giddy while reading this. I didn’t binge it in one go because I wanted to savor every moment of Amelia and Reginald’s relationship as it unfolded. Amelia is your classic workaholic, introverted cat lady who’s always getting misunderstood because she takes everything so seriously. She’s super competitive but also charming. But then along comes Reginald, this fedora-wearing assh*le who brings some fun into her black-and-white world, and suddenly, everything changes. I absolutely loved how Reginald could make Amelia laugh. He’s the perfect mix of hot, charming, funny, and straightforward, plus he’s a total chatterbox. He hides his pain behind jokes, and it’s oddly endearing.
✨ I also loved seeing Frederick and Cassie pop up in this book. Ugh, there are so many juicy revelations about their relationship that you won’t want to miss. I was literally squealing and feeling all giddy over Frederick and Cassie! I adored them in My Roommate Is A Vampire. And let’s not forget Amelia’s super supportive best friend, Sophie, and her overprotective brother, Sam.
✨ I don’t want to spoil too much, but this was such a fun and hilarious read for me. I’m excited to share it with you all. If you’re into romance, fantasy, and vampires, this is a must-read. My Roommate Is A Vampire was good, but this one was on a whole other level—waaay better. This was definitely a fang-tastic read!
✨ A huge thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for giving me the chance to meet Amelia and Reginald in exchange for my honest review.
✨ WHAT I LOVED:
📌 Reginald making Amelia laugh
📌 Frederick and Cassie's undying love for each other
📌 Sophie's emotional support for Amelia
📌 Reginald being so honest about his past
📌 How much Reginald genuinely cared for Amelia
📌 Reginald's adorable journey with his bullet journal (A vampire writing his own bullet journal was just soooo cute!)
📌 How close-knit Amelia’s family and relatives are
✨ TROPES:
📌 FAKE DATING RELATIONSHIP
📌 ACCOUNTANT X VAMPIRE
📌 UNBREAKABLE PLATONIC FRIENDSHIP
📌 HANDSOME VAMPIRE FUGITIVE MALE PROTAGONIST
📌 OPPOSITES ATTRACT
📌 A SUBTLE HINT OF SPICE

First, thank you to the publisher for the chance to read this book. This is a great follow-up to the original. Very sweet and lovely. Super cute.

I enjoyed this one much more than the first! It might have helped that the world was already established and Reggie was a more likeable character, but it also just felt more tightly edited. I do think it suffers a little from repetitiveness and awkward charm like the first, but it's less noticeable this time around. Vampires and taxes are definitely an amusing combo.

Cute supernatural romance! It was a fun read that made me laugh and ahh throughout. I'm a sucker (pun intened) for a fish out of water character and pretend dating stories. This is a must read for those that loved her other novel in the series "My Roommate is a Vampire." Looking forward to other books by this author in this world or in another one.

This was the fake dating trope done right. The relationship was not rushed and the miscommunication that led to her not knowing he was a vampire was believable and could easily happen in real life (if there really were vampires of course)
I loved the humour and light heartedness of Reggie’s character and the character development from being a selfish jokester to someone who wants to care for someone else.
The sub plot’s climax and ending was more thought out and exciting than the first book as well which kept you reading.
Would have been a cute Rom Com without the added aspect of vampires but the addition of vampires makes it all the better.

This fun paranormal romance has some of my favorite tropes, like fake dating and only one bed. Amelia is a successful, and single, accountant. When a family wedding invitation arrives, she figures showing up with a date will quiet her family about her single state.
Amelia ran into Reginald on the street and sees him at a coffee shop. When she asks him to be her fake date, he enthusiastically agrees.
What Amelia doesn’t know is that Reginald is a vampire, being pursued by vampires who believe he killed their ancestors.
Reginald tries to tell her what he is, but she thinks he’s kidding, and as they spend time together they fall for each other. Can a mortal human have a successful relationship with an immortal vampire?
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley, I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

2.5 stars. I thought My Roommate is a Vampire was super fun and this one was enjoyable too. They’re goofy and wacky and make me laugh. I didn’t love this one as much though. I wasn’t a huge fan of the whole Collective storyline and I was actually way more interested in Frederick’ and Cassie’s storyline than anything with Reggie and Amelia. It also felt like the end didn’t wrap up as nearly as I wanted.

i only picked this book up because i loved the first one but i should’ve at least read the description because then i would’ve known it was fake dating. i’m just not into fake dating books right now, i feel like it’s overdone and i should’ve known it was going to be fake dating because romance books always have to feature that trope in their series but also… the title. also there was no need for it to be 400 pages like cmon

Look I’ll be honest. I feel for Reginald and his antics in the first book. He had me loling and I was so excited for him to get his own love story. Pairing him up with cut throat bad Amelia was *chefs kiss* perfection. Add in the fake dating trope and some family antics and ugh I can’t say enough. This was just such a fun light hearted read that will have you loling.

I'm a HUGE fan of My Roommate Is A Vampire, so to say I was excited to read this is an understatement!
While the first book is still my favorite, I absolutely adored this one. It was laugh out loud funny and I just loved the two main characters. The fake dating trope was done very well and I just really appreciate how the author incorporates vampires being silly and cute vs dark and scary. The romance was a bit slow compared to the first book and I felt like this one didn't have as much of connection between the characters, but once the spicy scenes hit it was fun and wild!!
If the author continues making more vampire books like this one, sign me up!!

Like a big warm hug full of hilarious humor and steam. Completely loved Reginald getting his chance for love. (This book could be a stand alone, but I suggest you to read the first book before this one!)

This book was so much fun in the first half. Then I think I got a little disappointed when the whole concept of the vampire being the plus one at the wedding took a backseat to what I thought was a secondary plot line.
I found myself looking forward to them going to a wedding and then that didn’t happen until the epilogue.
Overall, it was fun, easy and cute. If only mildly disappointing there was not more wedding shenanigans and fake dating.
I received and eARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review. Thank you for the chance to read and review this book.

MY VAMPIRE PLUS ONE, is just as hilarious as her first - these books are such a refreshing delight, I adore reading them!!! A huge thanks to @berkleyromance for my e-ARC via @netgalley - I’m honored to have the privilege to enjoy this one before its September publication. It’ll be the perfect fall “spooky” read - be sure to add it to your TBR! 🧛🏻♀️🩸

That was fun!! A little silly but undeniably fun, tbh I expected more but I had a good time while reading. In this book we follow Amelia and Reginald (this name…… seriously?) after they meet by accident and she takes advantage of the one-hundred-percent-strange encounter to ask him for a favor (hello fake dating). For me, the first flaw starts right there, their relationship was very insta-lust and throughout the entire book I felt a lack of connection between them, only in the last (and when I say last I mean literally the last 10% of the book) chapters do they seem to have developed something deeper. For me the timeline didn't make much sense either, after six (I repeat, six!!!) weeks that she DISCOVERED that vampires exist she was already completely in love with one and thinking about becoming a vampire to be immortal (for him) 😭 Anyway, I tried not to take the book too seriously bc right at the beginning I realized that the idea was to be something quick, funny and light to read and in the end it served its purpose well. Would I recommend it? totally, despite the things I mentioned it was still worth reading.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for an advanced eARC of this book for a fair and honest review!
“Could she tell just by looking at me how badly I wanted to bury my face in her hair? To bury my teeth in her neck, too– if she would allow it?”
I want to start this review off by saying this was leagues more entertaining than My Roommate’s a Vampire. I enjoyed that, but I feel like Levine really just nailed the balance of plot, romance, and vampire goodness in this one. Reggie was my favorite back in Roommate, and he is absolutely ADORABLE in My Vampire Plus-One.
I thought Amelia was a bit bland– not to compare FMCs, but Cassie had more personality than Amelia (though I did like her superpower being tax law, that was kinda fun). I do feel like it was needed to balance with Reggie’s chaos.
Unlike the first book, this wasn’t dull at all and had me laughing out loud a good number of times. The spice was spicing for sure, too (Reggie has a filthy mouth underneath Old Fuzzy). The romance felt developed, and while I wasn’t a huge fan of the overhaul of tropes in the Wisconsin scenes, I do feel like Levine made it unique enough to make it work.
One final note that may be a spoiler- I am SO disappointed we didn’t get Frederick turning Cassie in the last book or a sort of novella. I feel like this was a huge moment for that couple that just happened in passing during this book’s events, which sucks (no pun intended) because I truly enjoy Levine’s vampire lore compared to some other vampire-themed romcoms out there.
All in all, a fun and cute romance I devoured in a few days. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for eye-rollingly bad humor and sweet bloodsuckers.
