This was a messy affair. The alternating POV's didn't put anyone in a good light. All the characters written here were deplorable. There is extra marital affair, stalking, drinking problems, and not everything is what it seems on the surface. I felt everything worked for this book till the climax. That was too much like a soap opera. Yu don't even care who the killer is because the plot gets that convoluted.

I give this book 3 stars.

I thank NetGalley for this E-Arc and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This one was just ok for me. It started very slow and didn't pick up until almost halfway through. I almost DNF'd this but I'm glad I didn't.

There were almost too many characters that didn't seem to serve any purpose, and those that did have a purpose were all unreliable. I feel there needs to be at least one reliable character.

A true domestic thriller with a few curveballs thrown in to remind the reader all is not really what it seems.

Thank you NetGalley and BookOuture for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

This was a fun, pretty standard domestic thriller. Anyone who knows me knows that I love a good "my partner is missing/wait is my partner a murderer?" tropes in books, so when I read the description I knew it would be right up my alley. The first few chapters of the book started slow (not enough to make me give up), and thankfully the story sped up just before the halfway point and kept the pace pretty consistently until the end.

Also, the plot twist I wasn't expecting! I wish it didn't happen too early on - I love my twists brought in near the end of the read for the finishing shock factor. But, the twist allowed for lots of questions to linger as the story went on. The ending left me wanting more, though. Down introduced a lot of characters throughout the book (and I personally, didn't like a majority of them), and at points, I found myself confused and having to re-read certain points to make sure I had all my characters correct in my head. I would still recommend this read to anyone who likes domestic thrillers with a touch of crime.

So this book threw me early on! The twist is revealled very early on, so I wondered where it was going. It's a good read overall, a typical domestic noir thriller, I liked it and it was an easy enough read.

Kitty thinks her husband is having an affair with Nina. Nina ends up murdered and Kitty can’t remember a thing from the night of the murder. The big twist in this book is at the beginning so the book had a lot to live up to for the remainder and it just fell a bit flat for me. I like a lot of jaw dropping twists and this just didn’t have them.

Kitty think that her husband David is having an affair with his co worker Nina, Nina is murdered, Kitty cant recall the events of that night and her husband is avoiding the police at all costs.
What happened that night and who is to blame?
Good thriller which was written with at a good pace

This was a fun and fast read, pretty standard UK domestic suspense novel.

David and Kitty are having a rough time. They’ve been struggling to get pregnant, and it’s taken a toll on their marriage and Kitty’s mental health. David’s career is at a tipping point, and he’s feeling a lot of pressure. So much so that with feeling neglected by his wife, he finds himself in the bed of another woman. How do they come back from that? And who’s really married to David?

The “twist” for this one comes pretty early in the book, which I definitely wasn’t expecting! It made the story more interesting because I kept wondering where we were going to go from there. How could it possibly get crazier? It was a fun, even if a touch predictable, ride through to the end.

I did finish the book wanting more, though. We had a lot of characters introduced that really didn’t have a reason to exist, and just appeared when convenient to the story before being immediately tossed aside not to be seen from again. The ending felt…off to me as well. Kitty just goes about her life as if nothing happened, which feels wrong. I did love Catherine’s arc from start to finish, and honestly wanted more of her!

Over all this was an enjoyable domestic suspense novel for fans of B.A. Paris and Ruth Ware!

Thank you to NetGalley and BookOuture for the ARC!

I was very excited when I read the prologue, but the first 30% of the book was very slow moving. I did enjoy the overall story and the twists at the end. I found myself trying to figure out what was happening the whole story, which kept me very interested, and was surprised at the outcome. If you are looking for an easy read with some twists and turns, this book is for you. The epilogue really sealed the deal for me! I also enjoyed how each character was separated into their own chapters. 4 stars!

The interview with Dick Bell, I believe, was long and unnecessary for the overall story line.

This is a full circle story. How it begins is exactly how it ends. It was like watching a movie. If you’re familiar with the show set up of ‘How to get away with murder’ this is it.

The book is split into two parts, and there’s a switch of narrators. It’s a ‘who done it’ type of story, where we’re taken on a journey to find out what has happened and who is responsible for this horrendous crime.

After reading, I looked at the cover and then digested the actual story and I think the whole idea was quite good. It’s not at all predictable. The supporting characters were supporting, we had an insight into these close friendships and more importantly the marriage dynamics.

I did feel that the exclusive interview was much too long and it could’ve been cut down. I just didn’t care for Dick being interviewed after a while, so this part really dragged the story for me.Too much time was wasted on this area of the book.

I also started to root for a character towards the end. It would be a spoiler to reveal who I was rooting for, but their epilogue really had me laughing.

I would recommend this book if you want a quick crime story, love a few twists here and enjoy unhinged characters.

Wow wow wow this book was brilliant. It had me gripped from the first chapter and it had some fantastic twists.

David and his wife Kitty are a glamorous couple however are struggling due to infertility. We take a look into their marriage but all is not what it seems.

A fantastic read with great characters that kept me interested right until the very end.

I can’t wait to read more books by Holly.

What sets The Other Woman constantly kept me guessing. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, there was another curveball. The pacing is brisk, the writing crisp, and the plot twists are genuinely unexpected, keeping you hooked until the very last page.

While the characters are well-developed and relatable, it's the psychological depth that truly shines in this novel. Down delves into the complexities of human nature, exploring themes of jealousy, obsession, and the lengths people will go to protect their secrets.

Overall, The Other Woman is a gripping and immersive read that will appeal to fans of psychological thrillers. With its unpredictable plot and compelling characters, it's sure to keep readers up late into the night, eagerly turning pages to uncover the truth. Holly Down has crafted a must-read thriller that will linger in the minds of readers long after they've finished the final chapter.

Wow I didn’t see the end coming, that’s for sure! In the beginning I thought that I was able to guess the outcome which made the book a bit hard to get into for the first 30%. About midway through it starts picking up which was interesting enough to keep my attention peeked, I did have to reread a few part because the characters kept confusing me a little (reader error, im sure). You have to follow through until you get a big unexpected twist at the end. This is a great slow paced read and it is worth the read if you like mystery/thrillers!

This was my first book by this author and I have to say that I really liked her writing style and this definitely won't be her last book I'll read.

I found the first half extremely exciting and fast paced. I was curious the whole time to see what would happen and I loved that each chapter ended with a little cliffhanger.

The second chapter unfortunately was a little less exciting and the ending was also a little too confusing for me, but I still liked the book and I definitely did not see the ending coming!

I couldn't put it down and finished it in one sitting.

The Other Woman is a gripping, twisty and fast-paced book, with little twists in it, that will keep you guessing until the very end.

The other woman is a thriller you could, and I did, read in one sitting. It’s a twisty thriller that is absolute chaos. This felt all over the place and I think I temporarily lost the story line in one of the biggest twists, but overall I had a good time. There is not a lot I can go into without spoilers. I would go in blind anyway, but the characters were a little flat and I didn’t know who to root for I think ever! That was fun though, because I do love unreliable narrators. Thank you so much to NetGalley and Bookouture for this preview

David Okine, star of his own TV interview show, is having an affair with his researcher Nina Bello. His wife Kitty is sure this is true…so sure that she has followed him to a bar, seen what she believes is flirtation, and decided that she will do anything to avoid divorce. Their best friends, Tom and Annie and Caro and Ed, sense tension. They allude to McCrazy, as they refer to her, a stalker who believed she was married to David. Then David skewers Dick Bell, a disgraced Member of Parliament, ratings for the show are off the charts and there is a wild after party. This leads to murder, stalking and a disappearance.

There is, of course, much much more in this complex, impossible to put down mystery. No spoilers here but remember that nothing, nothing at all is what it seems. Holly Down is a gifted writer and I can’t wait to read her next thriller. 5 stars.

3 ⭐️ for The Other Woman by Holly Down
Kitty is convinced her husband David is cheating on her with his co worker Nina, but then Nina is murdered, Kitty cant remember what she was doing that night and David is avoiding the police. Follow along to un cover who murdered Nina and what happened that night.

The overall feel of the book was good but it didn't have me sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next, the change in characters was easy to follow. Come the end you can figure out exactly what is going to happen. I feel like some of the characters were a little flat and would of loved to see more from their POV. It was a good read but not one I would be reaching to pick up again.

Thanks Netgalley, Bookouture and Holly Down for the ARC.

David is a political journalist with an award winning TV show, Kitty is his glamorous wife. They’ve grown apart recently as they’ve been struggling with infertility and IVF. However, David is determined to make the relationship work.

I found the first half of the book a little odd. Clearly something was not quite right but I couldn’t fathom out what, until there was a huge twist half way through. It made me want to go back to the beginning and read the story again with this new found knowledge.

A few other twists and turns kept the story going to the end.

I wouldn’t say I loved this book but it was cleverly written & left me wondering about the real Kitty.
