Cute, simple story that is sure to delight young readers. I think a big appeal factor will be the flaps, but hard to make a judgement without having a physical copy.

While this was a cute book, I mean who doesn’t love giraffes…it was lacking for me. I was expecting a story about acceptance on those that are different from you, but all I got was the repetitive use of average. Lazier than average, taller than average, bigger than average. I think there were more possibilities with this book and it could be made into something fun with a positive message for kids. Unfortunately this fell short but would probably be an easy kid for young kids.

To start with, the illustrations in this book are INCREDIBLE!

Torla is a taller-than-average giraffe and she is friends with Smorla, the smaller-than-average giraffe. As they go for a walk together, Torla's head gets stuck in a lower-than-average cloud and she can't see where she is going. No fear though, her friend Smorla leads the way for her.

It's sad that Torla doesn't get to see all of the things they pass: lazier than average lions (so cute), crocodiles doing yoga, hippos playing games, these illustrations seriously are just gorgeous.

My daughter loved this book and we will definitely be buying this one to add to our shelves.

The format alone can perk the interest of children in reading this book. I really like the story and a sort of silly redundancy of the words that feels like tongue twisty. Love the dialogue and how the author nailed the lesson on trust and friendship with the story of two giraffes, Torla and Smorla. The art is great too!

Torla and Smorla and The Lower Than Average Cloud is a unique little picture book with a funny premise. The friends make their trip with the leadership of Smorla, as Torla is unable to escape the cloud around her head. I'm not sure how I feel about the repetition of "than average" to describe everything along the way, but I believe children will find this book humorous and I appreciate the unique illustrations and format.

I think this one would have been so much easier to read if I had in my hand. Reading it on the computer took away some of the interactiveness of the story.

This was an interesting story about two giraffes, one tall and one small. I felt as though the story was quite repetitive and I didn't quite understand the goal of the book.

This one was a miss for me and would not purchase it, but it would be fine to borrow from the library.

Great story and great illustrations, I couldn't quite get the feel for the book as I online it's not interactive but I'm sure the kids will love lifting the flaps to find out what Torla and Smorla get up too.

I was not a fan of the writing style (e.g., taller-than-average, smaller-than-average, etc.) because it made it hard to read. I would have preferred other descriptive language for this children's book. Overall, the book is cute and I enjoyed reading about all of the obstacles.

Amusing animal characteristics. Cute illustrations. Candid plot. Surface-level humour. Showcases healthy friendships that encourage trust and bravery. Smorla is a lively giraffe while Torla is a generic giraffe. Overall, a good read.

This is a more than average cute book, with a humorous story, adorable characters, and a greatly rhyming prose. The images are equally cute. I wish the story were longer.

This was a cute and humorous read that will delight young readers for sure, especially those who love giraffes and those who have a friend/sibling thar is bigger or smaller than them.
My only critique is that the “bigger/smaller-than-average” wording gets a bit clunky. I think that this book would have been better served with phrases like “super big” or “extra small” but I may be alone in that opinion. The “than-average” wording does have a certain charm.

These books were so cute! I can’t wait to show my daughter the bug book as she’s been really interested in ladybugs lately. The Happy Stories for Animal Lovers was absolutely adorable! It was full of such beautiful illustrations and fun facts about animals. The Pond and the Park was a really adorable story about friendships. Respect the Insect book was very interesting to my son who has been hesitant with flies coming inside. Hee hee. He always really enjoyed Little People Big Dreams about Stan Lee and comics. My daughter is going to love Gabriel’s Toothfairy Tale as she’s been waiting anxiously for her tooth to fall out. Torla and Smorla was a really cute book my younger song loved.
