Absolutely loved this novel, it was well written and I really felt for Chloe.
A perfect setting for what was going on which set the scene and allowed the story to unravel to the surprising end.
There was only one way it could it end though and I was glad it happened the way it did.
Definitely worth a read.

i think the plot was definitely predictable but and it felt flat here often times and it was slightly underwhelming. Was waiting on the twist and turns like in thriller books but there wasn’t anything shocking.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. I devoured this in one sitting. Harrow had me engaged from the start. The first person narration worked well, and the story was well-paced and interesting right until the last page. I'd like to read more by this author.

Ooh wee.. This month its just book after book giving me all the feels. The Guilty Girl by Ruth Harrow was no different. This thriller had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I was extremely invested on what happen, who did what, and why. Harrow has a way of pulling you in and having you speculate theories from the very first sentence, I of course was thinking one thing and then for that thing to be revealed early on I knew that it had to be something else. Well that something else is a twist that I never even speculated. When twists like that just gut punch you it really makes for a quality book. There was only one aspect of the book that I did not enjoy and it was the intimate tone of the dad toward the daughter. There was nothing written implying such thing, just an underlying tone that had me feeling a ted bit uncomfortable. 8/10 I would recommend to all you psychological thriller lovers.

The guilty girl: Chloe’s life is anything but normal. Her father has kept her prisoner for 12 years in her own home, not allowed to have friends, go outside or go to school.
As she gets older, she starts questioning her dad’s obsessive behavior.
She broke one of her dad’s rules & went outside where she met their new teenage neighbor. He causes her to realize that her father is controlling her every moment & keeping her from having a normal life.
Will she risk it all to gain her freedom?
I really enjoyed this thriller! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this in return for an honest review.

The Guilty Girl is not for readers sensitive to gaslighting or being held captive.
Dad and his daughter live together in a cottage on the outskirts of town. Dad goes to work daily and leaves his teenage daughter home alone. She is under strict instruction not to talk to anyone, not to look strangers in the eyes, and stay hidden. She keeps busy cleaning the house, doing schoolwork provided by her Dad, and preparing dinner for them (which on a good night comes from cans).
They live like this for 12 years without incident. But then developers begin taking some trees down and all Chloe knows begins to fall around her too.
Chloe is like most sixteen-year olds seeking her independence, but as she does so, she questions if it is worth the risk. Her father in his anger tells her everything is her fault. She is the reason they have to hide, have to run.
Her struggle to defy her father and carry the guilt he puts on her had me flipping fast through the pages. Every time I thought she could escape him, something else came up. I became very invested in Chloe's story. Right up to the ending I hoped she'd get her happily-ever-after.
Grab a copy of this today if you're looking for a page-turner, a psychological thriller, or a book with some weight to read.

I received this book from NetGalley. In my opinion the book was just ok. I was hoping for more twists than it actually had. There was a few that I was like okay here we go to only be disappointed when the surprises didn’t just keep coming. For me personally it was a very forgettable book. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this book. #TheGuiltyGirl #NetGalley

Chloe had been locked away in her father’s cottage for 12 years. She believes her father murdered her mother. After escaping to the outside for the first time, Chloe is met with new curiosities and an interest in her neighbor Matt. Her father discovers her escape and makes it harder for her to leave. More and more questions arise until Chloe finds different versions of the truth.

The Guilty Girl, by Ruth Harrow is a captivating thriller. I enjoyed it for the most part, though the repetitiveness in the beginning used to remind us how sheltered Chloe is was a bit much. That being said, I think Chloe could have been written a bit more innocent and sheltered. It felt like she already knew so much about the world.

The ending is a bit fast. I would have liked to see more. I can’t really say what I mean without giving spoilers haha.

Loved the plot twists. I think they are what really made the story for me.

I was enthralled with this book!
A girl and her dad live in hiding for 12 years after he runs off with her following an "accident" with her mother.
The little girl is now a teenager and getting curious. It was fun to watch her sneak out and meet a boy, learning aboutvreal life for the first time! And it was interesting to see how the father shaped their daily lives in order to stay hidden for over a decade.
As twists began to reveal things got intense! Some I guessed, some I didn't, but even the ones I guessed were exciting to read!
The last half of the book kept me on edge and hopeful for this child to get a normal life!
I really enjoyed this book

What is guilt? The title & cover pulled me in and the story kept my interest.
The ties that bind really do define what we believe and what is considered normal. Normal is also what we know, what is familiar, at least until we learn differently. I enjoyed this book & didn't realize it was book 4. It read well as a stand alone.
