This was a interesting concept and thought the overall story was interesting and could see the overall feel of this. The characters had a great feel and it worked with what I wanted. K. E. Adamus does a great job in writing this and can't wait for more.

I was curious about this one based on the blurb and highly intriguing cover/title combination. Unfortunately, I was pretty much utterly confused from the get-go... I didn't dislike the writing itself. The style is quirky and engaging, but the pieces never seemed to cohere into anything I could follow and ultimately I wasn't able to keep reading as a result. This wasn't a good fit for me.

Oh well... To outwit the fate by K. E. Adamus felt a bit of a nut house. Seriously, it was weird at the same time I was curious about where all this was going! I was constantly questioning why characters were doing what they were doing, so many things just didn't make any sense. I think if I needed to summarise this book I would say it felt like a fairytale for adults. It's not bad and as I already mentioned, definitely keeps you going as you want to understand the reasons behind the bazaar decisions!

Matt wants to be successful. He is not sure what he wants to do so he tries different ways but a series of unfortunate events strike him. If something can go wrong, it will!
His friend Alicia (and she is constantly referred to as an ugly friend) is nice and kind and she wants to help Matt but again, things are not working out as they should. So the last straw is to do something different and Matt decides he could try to be a companion to elderly ladies. This is how he meets Mrs Pelagia - a rich lady who is happy to give him a free place to live and food and money. But one day she is dead and all the bazaar things start happening!

In some way, I would say this is a book about "Everything that happens to us happens for a reason! Even though at some point it does not feel like that, just believe!

Thank you to net gallery for this arc copy. Sadly this book wasn’t for me as I didn’t really enjoy the story or get the story at all and what was supposed to be happening it all sounded so complicated for me to read and my ADHD brain just couldn’t get the plot at all or understand what was happing. The writing style for this book wasn’t done that well sadly. This book was just a jumble of information that didn’t make sense and I am so sad I didn’t enjoy this book. The cover of this book with the black cat doesn’t even fit the book as there isn’t one part about a Cat in this book and it was the cover of the black cat that intrigued me to read this book. I really hope the authors next book is a lot better. Xxx
