If you’re looking for a closed room murder mystery, look no further! Filled with twists, you won’t be able to put it down! Like a modern day Agatha Christie novel

I listened to the audiobook of this one and I liked the narration. This is a bit of a locked room mystery.
The main character, Amy was a teenager when she walked out of a cabin party with her friends only to find out later, she would be the only survivor from that night. She changes her name and makes a new lift as an FBI agent. Here is where the writing isn't as strong as I'd have liked. The characterization wasn't very strong, each person blending a little into the next. For instance, I would have appreciated the main character as an agen to be strong and smart, but she seemed more like an amateur. Altogether is was a good story line and mystery.

While this book has lots of interesting characters, it was a bit hard to follow and keep all things straight. However, the mystery is good and engaging.

This book attempted to capture the essence of an Agatha Christie mystery but fell short. The 'stuck in a location with a killer' trope felt overused, and the characters were overly simplistic, seeming more like plot devices than fully developed individuals. The connections to the characters' pasts lacked depth, making them unengaging. Overall, there was nothing particularly memorable about this book. I wouldn't recommend it. Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read it.

A good locked in the room mystery. The narrator was clear, helped build suspense, didn’t use weird voices when other people were talking that made it distracting. All the things I like in a narrator. A perfect summer read for anyone looking to cozy up. It’s easy to enjoy and not too time-consuming. Would I like to call a great plane read.

I received a free audiobook copy from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.
There are tons of reviews on here already, and I concur with most- strong story and main character, but the background is filled with people who aren't as fleshed out, except possibly the culprit, which is why I think so many others have said they guessed who it was.
I love a locked room mystery- there are rules and specifics that must be adhered to in order to make it fall into this category, and being someone who likes order, this is my jam ha. So I usually seek out these types of mysteries, and She Left was on the list! It was a good debut novel, and I will definitely look for Stacie Grey's works in the future.

This thriller had many characters which did make it a bit more difficult to follow in the audio version, but overall a good story. Its is a great example of how secrets follow you through life. There's always a reason things happen the way they do. The fmc unbeknownst to her, visits her past and gets trapped.

This is a fun mystery in the long lineage of And Then There Were None tales with a few added layers. For one, we find out early on who has gathered everyone at the secluded locale to seek revenge for a long-ago wrong, but it seems there is someone else who is motivated to start picking off the guests. While none of the reveals are particularly jaw-dropping, the unfolding story kept my attention (at a time when I have struggled to focus on any book at all) and left me guessing right up until the end. I’d definitely check out what Stacie Grey has coming out next!
Linda Jones’ performance of the audiobook is exactly the kind I enjoy: subtle but clear in its distinction between characters and delivered in such a way that I’m more focused on the story than the words.

Thriller audiobooks are one of my favourite things but unfortunately this didn't hit the mark for me. The set up had so much potential but after the initial set up the plot dragged. There were too many characters and too much filler dialogue.
I found it hard to stay connected and invest in the big reveal

SYNOPSIS-- Twenty years ago, Amy Therese Brewer walked out of a party after an argument. Moments later, five of her classmates and friends were brutally murdered, leaving her as a suspect. When contacted by a journalist looking to do a piece on the massacre, Amy shows up to a house with ten others connected to the case, expecting interviews and conversation about her experiences. It soon becomes apparent, however, that this invitation is not what it seemed. With a storm incoming and housemates dying, Amy is forced to uncover who knows more than they are letting on.
The premise of this book was super interesting, but the execution was lacking. I finished it a few weeks ago and am already having a hard time remembering details... it just wasn't anything special. I enjoyed my time listening to it and I think the narrator did a great job. The story was slightly predictable -- I had two main suspects from the start and one of them turned out to be correct -- which is always a bit of a let down. Overall, interesting but not going to stand out as a winner in my eyes.

Ahhh this book started out so strong, that it grabbed my attention right away. For like the first 20% of the audiobook I was completely invested… so where did it go wrong?
It was a super quick read, but it just felt meh at the end. It was very predictable… I had looked at some reviews beforehand and many people seemed to not like this one, so I figured I would go into it with an open mind.
I honestly was invested at first, like full-on captivated, and wanted to see where the story was going. Towards the middle is where it completely lost me, it wasn’t terrible by any means - just way too predictable.
I will say I did enjoy the past timeline in this and found the overall story to be interesting here and there.
Thank you so much NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the review copy in exchange for my honest review!

This audiobook really had me intrigued initially, but after the first two chapters, I had a difficult time staying engaged. I thought the narrator was great, however! Even though this thriller wasn't my cup of tea, I would still recommend giving it a read.
Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I struggled getting into this one and I wasn’t invested in the story. I’ll definitely try another book from this author in the future. I just don’t think this one was for me.

This one wasn't my favourite.
I typically love a good thrilling story, but this one didn't cut it for me. I listened to this one as an audiobook. Wasn't that captivated by it. Took me a while to finish it for that reason.

She Left is Stacie Grey's debut (I think?!) and I loved the setup of this book. We get a taste of the past, but the majority is set in the present where Amy is now Therese, and she is invited to a secluded house on a cliff in the Sierras. If I were her, I never would have gone to this, but she is a Special Agent now and clearly no longer afraid of anything. This was a fast-paced read and exactly the kind I like where bodies drop like flies, and everyone is a suspect. The author definitely gave off Agatha Christi vibes and I loved the atmospheric setting and the introduction of the storm that traps everyone there.
I thought the audiobook was great and Linda Jones was perfect to be the voice of Therese and the other characters we get in the form of vignettes. I was glad that the book was mostly told from Therese's viewpoint, but I also loved that we got a taste of the other characters and what they were like. She Left was a twisty read, and I was really surprised by how things got wrapped up. There is a discussion with the author at the back of the book that isn't included in the audio that I recommend reading, but otherwise, the audio was a wonderful way to experience the book! I think Grey is off to a great start and I can't wait to see what she writes next.

The twists in this book just missed the mark for me. it felt a bit unbelievable and far fetched. I would suggest reading if you like underdog turned hero and locked door mystery. I was able to listen to this audiobook thanks to netgalley and I think overall the narrator did a good job and kept my attention enough to finish.

This book had a pretty intriguing subject, and I felt the first chapter was really well written. Sadly, the remainder was disappointing.
There were many people to keep track of, but most of them were somewhat one-dimensional, with an incredibly uninteresting main character at the center. It was hard for me to care about any of the characters because I didn't think any of them were likeable.
I also had a hard time believing a lot of the plot's motivational triggers because they seemed so contrived.
Last but not least, even though the huge reveal at the conclusion made a lot of sense, I had figured out who the killer was from the start of the novel, so they was not any shock factor for me.

Twenty years ago, Amy leaves behind her friends because they were being mean to her. Shortly after, they are all killed. She’s ran away from It her whole life, even changing her name, since the killer was never fully determined and she’s always been low key accused. Now, she’s invited to a lodge by a journalist to do a story on the case and she goes to clear her name. But people start to be killed off one by one.
A very basic thriller, you know someone at the lodge was the killer then and now but you’re not sure who or the motive. The big reveal is not anything blow your socks off. The pacing was good and the narration was good, as i listened to It via audiobook. A quick easy read!

A twisty thriller. When a bunch of seemingly on related people are invited to a weekend getaway in the mountains by a journalist, it becomes pretty clear that somebody is trying to uncover the secrets from the past. A group of high school teens were brutally murdered as a group. The only one to survive is the girl who left early. Did she have anything to do with it? Does she know anything more about it? Or is she going to uncover more than she had bargained for all along? Sort of in the same pattern as a dinner party murder mystery this thriller has all guests guessing who will be next and who is the real danger.

This was a really fun to read locked room mystery. I enjoyed the play back and forth between the characters that were brought into the story and their connections to the initial victims of the mass killing. It had a great sense of place and the outside (storm, landslides, etc) added to the creep factor. My one issue was that I didn't feel deeply invested in many of the characters. There were a bit too many red herrings and the story and character development got muddy because of it. But - the ending was great and really brought the story back together. I would recommend to a friend and will share on our podcast, but I wouldn't read it again. Not enough depth for me.
