This was a great story, very captivating and all consuming. I was worried since there were a lot of characters to keep track of, usually this loses me, but this somehow worked for me.

I enjoyed this and thought it was well written and really well narrated.

This had a lot of potential but ultimately left me of bored. The narration was good and I enjoyed getting to know the various character. I just was left wanting more of a motive and there were too many red herrings for my taste.

She Left authored by Stacie Grey and narrated by Linda Jones.

I was hooked from the beginning! Usually my limit to listening is about an hour but this one held my attention and I finished in 2 days. There are a lot of characters and since I was listening to the audiobook, it helped to make note of the characters and their relationships. It was a fun listen with all the twists and turns that kept me guessing until the end. I liked how everything wrapped up. I will definitely look for the author’s next book.

The narrator did a great job and held my attention.

Thank you to the author, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for the Advanced Listener Copy (ALC) copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

The cover is what first caught my eye. The artwork and colors used drew me in and the plot sealed the deal. I found the storyline to be well thought out and the characters just complex enough to keep me guessing yet engaged. As with many thrillers, the situation seemed a little far fetched but it kept me wanting to know how it would all play out. The female main character was likable but I felt a little disconnected at times. Given the situation and character’s history I would have liked a little more emotional pull but overall I thought this was a really good audiobook. Narration was done well and the attention to detail really helped me visualize the story, characters, and house.

I would like to thank Stacie Grey, NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this audiobook. I was happy to provide my honest review in exchange, and I’m eager to share my recommendation for this book with fellow thriller/mystery readers.

I want to start off by saying what a audiobook. I have never listen to anything or read anything from this author. After listening to this book definitely won’t the last.. Yes this audiobook did take me a but longer to finish. But I didn’t want to rush or miss hearing anything. The narrator does outstanding job. I have to say this being the first book it didn’t disappoint. Very unpredictable and enjoyable to listen to. I thought I had the idea why these characters were all there. I was definitely wrong.
I wasn’t confused or lost with the different POV in this book at all.
I highly recommend this book. It does get released on May 13, 2024
Thank you the author and netgalley for the opportunity to listen to amazing book

This book was a master class in who done it?! I really enjoyed the format of this book. The mystery and suspense was just right. A thrilling read.

I love the premise of this one. Locked door, whodunnit, picking people off one by one. It seems to have all the elements of a great thriller!

But for me, this one was still lacking something. I struggled to connect with the characters, I think because they weren't developed enough. There were a lot of characters to keep straight and that got a bit confusing, and also lead to not being able to really flush out each one. I also struggled with the connection each of them had to the original murder and didn't really believe the motives they were said to have. The reason each person was targeted seemed surface level, which did not sit well with me.

Ultimately, the story was good, the writing was good, I just needed more from the characters to really get into this one.

I received a gifted ALC of SHE LEFT by Stacie Grey from Dreamscape Media.

Rating: 3.5 / 5

SHE LEFT begins with Amy Therese as a teen. She has an argument with her friends and decides to walk home. When she gets there she finds out that the other five teens she left behind were murdered. In the present day, the anniversary of that murder finds ten people called together, each with some kind of a connection to that Memorial Day Massacre. Soon secrets begin to emerge and people begin to die.

I really enjoyed the mix of isolated setting and locked room mystery tied into things. Following Therese as an FBI agent with her experience from the past and also her current experience in law enforcement makes for an interesting mix as well. Hearing about her experiences as being the lone survivor as the story goes along really made me feel for her.

As people begin to die and it becomes obvious that there’s more to the story than what everyone knows about the massacre, I enjoyed following the mystery. There were times in the back and forth accusations that I felt things dragged a bit for me, but in the end I had a good time.

This was a good debut and I would definitely check out more from Stacie Grey in the future.

I feel like this book could’ve been a lot better. It was a great whodunnit. But I was just left feeling underwhelmed and kinda bored.

Suspenseful mystery that will keep you guessing. It was almost like a game of Clue. You have a group of people, almost strangers, brought together to talk about a tragic event that happened 20 years ago. It had a beginning, middle, and tied nicely at the end. This story did not have a shocking twist like most psychological thrillers. This novel was an engaging mystery that keeps the reader wondering what will happen next. There are about 5+ characters that are in the story so pay attention while reading. I enjoyed this one. The narrator was fabulous, soothing voice and perfect for the role of the main character. Looking forward to the next book from this author!

Fans of "and then there were none" will likely enjoy this book of the same premise: locked room, rising body count, revenge aplenty.
It was a fun, easy listen. I found it a bit hard to believe that a well trained FBI agent would get themself into this situation, but reason aside it was very enjoyable.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for my advance copy of this audiobook

"She Left" by Stacie Grey, narrated by Linda Jones. I have to say, I had mixed feelings about this audiobook. The premise of the story, involving a group of people connected to a tragic event being invited to a remote cliffside house, was intriguing and had a lot of potential. However, as the plot unfolded, I couldn't help but feel that the execution fell short of my expectations.
The prologue set up the story effectively and drew me in, but as the narrative progressed, I found myself noticing several plot holes that detracted from my overall enjoyment of the book. These inconsistencies made it difficult for me to fully immerse myself in the story.
On the positive side, Linda Jones did a commendable job as the narrator, bringing the characters and the suspenseful atmosphere to life. The locked room mystery aspect of the story was appealing, and I appreciated the tension and mystery surrounding the events of the past and their impact on the characters in the present.
While I found the premise and setup of "She Left" to be promising, the execution and characterization fell short for me. I struggled to connect with the characters, and the ending felt rushed and lacked the impact I was hoping for.

Thank you Netgalley, Stacie Grey and Dreamscape Media for the audio arc of She Left.
Narrated by Linda Jones

This book was a good example of a " whodunnit " genre of mystery thriller. The plot and the writing style was smooth and well paced, starting off slow and then slowly building up towards the pay off.

Linda Jones did a great job of narrating which helped keep the characters clear and separated with their own voice. A great summer thriller to take on your holiday!

The prologue to this one was great and set the book up really well. Unfortunately the rest of the book did not live up it. It was a classic a bunch of people are trapped and people are dying scenario. Not a bad set up but there were plot holes so big a bus would fall in them. *SPOILER* For example the woman who traps them there blows up all their phones and keys. They are then trapped. But where are her keys and phone? She wouldn't have blown them up. There were also a lot more and it really feels like all the characters and the plot were just thrown together, The narrator of the book did a good job but overall this book wasn't a good fit for me.

Fans of Ruth Ware and Heather Gudenkauf will love the constant guessing game of “who dunnit.” The writing was smooth, the story easy to follow despite many characters are quickly introduced, and the cast contained a unique, diverse mix. I was hooked from the start of this book and constantly finding time to listen to more. The narrator was clear and depicted the characters amazingly. I highly recommend “She Left” to any and all thriller/mystery lovers!

I really liked that 'She Left' by Stacie Grey had quite a few classic locked-room mystery connections and strong Agatha Christie vibes. I thought it was a clever and interesting story. I did not figure out the ending so that is always great. I think there were probably too many characters to keep track of when listening to the audio book so it took me a while to really comprehend what was happening. But the audiobook narration was really nice. Overall, I enjoyed it and I'd like to listen to more books by this author.

Rating: 3.5 (rounded up) | Format: Audiobook

This is a fun, keeps-you-guessing locked room mystery! It’s a very fast read, told through multiple perspectives. I found it pretty predictable but still enjoyable.

She Left primarily follows Amy/Therese, the sole survivor of the “Memorial Day Massacre,” where five of her friends were brutally killed when they were teens. Fast forward twenty years: Therese, now an FBI agent, is invited to a remote house along with nine other people with connections to the case by a journalist exploring the massacre. The group quickly becomes stranded to the secluded house during a storm when more murders begin to occur.

Huge thank you to Stacie Grey, Dreamscape Media, & NetGalley for the ARC! All opinions are my own.

"She Left" by Stacie Grey and narrated by Linda Jones is an outstanding thriller that arfully blends a tight circle of suspects with an isolated locale, revenge murders and worst of all, all tech and ability to drive away are taken

Add to this, landslides, the guests being picked off one by one and one heck of a back story that builds throughout the narrative thanks to the beautifully performed multiple POV's by the hugely talented Linda Jones

Oh my goodness, this one is a doozy! I am not usually one for thrillers that involve being stuck in a cabin in the middle of nowhere with no way to get back and peril at every turn, but "She Left" is so very different.

The back story: A party on Memorial day, the popular group of high school teens get together and Amy Therese Bower thinks her social dreams have come true, that is, until the group at the party begin to get nasty and she leaves, by foot, to go home and leave it behind her. Her route is scary and fraught with unknown noises, but when she gets back home, the response is not as she would imagine. She is not told off for not calling, instead, everyone is relieved she is back. why? She is the only person that survived that party

The Present day: A group of people are invited to a remote cabin in a New England forest seemingly by a journalist. At this point, Amy is noww Therese and is an active FBI agent. She doesn't talk to journalists about what happened that day due to being the only survivor (survivor guilt) and even her dating life is affected, with one guy trying to get a date with her who turned out to be a true crime podcaster. She cancelled that date. However, this is different, so she drives up to the luxury cabin. When she gets there, she meets other people who have a link to each person that died at the memorial day massacre, some obvious, others not so. However, after a really, really good nights sleep, the group discover they have been drugged and all their tech and keys taken. Who did it? Why? And can Therese work it out before it is too late?

This book is outstanding in that as each back story is revealed, each person has a perspective and a motive to be the killer in the cabin and as each person is picked off, who the real killer is likely to be becomes less and less easy to spot. Intricately woven and utterly compelling, this is a thriller that will keep you rapt throughout. Brilliant!

Thank you to Netgalley, Dreamscape Media, the author Stacie Grey and narrator Linda Jones for this fantastic ARC. My review is left voluntarily and all opinions are my own

I listened to the audiobook of this one and I do think the narrator did a good job. This is a locked room mystery (actually several locked room mysteries within a locked house mystery) and I do have a soft spot for locked room mysteries. When Amy was a teenager she walked out of a cabin party with her friends and decided to walk home. Despite the creepy atmosphere when she gets home she realizes she made the best possible choice of her life because all of her friends are dead. After changing her name to her middle name Therese she became an FBI agent. I have to say that for an FBI agent I expected a little more, she read more like an amateur sleuth. Despite reservations she accepts an invitation from a journalist to a cabin where she finds nine other people all connected to the case where her friends were killed or one of them people involved including the confessed killer’s mother. But Therese quickly realizes that not everyone had the same motivations for coming this weekend and not all secrets from the past have truly been left in the past. I found some of the dialogue/delivery of the story to be a bit stilted but overall I enjoyed the story. I gave it 3.5 stars rounded up because I truly love a locked room mystery.
