Don't skip this one!! There are some really great book intro's in here to really get you interested in the new releases.
I'm most excited about The Stolen Queen, Old Soul, William, The Sequel, Clever Little Thing, Penitence, The Teller of Small Fortunes, This Cursed House, Old Wounds but there were so many more to enjoy, hopefully a little something for everyone!!

Working in publishing means always keeping a pulse on what new books are on the horizon. One of the most invaluable resources each season is the Buzz Books series, now on their 25th release. They’ve just shared their Buzz Books 2024: Fall/Winter sampler, calling out hundreds of upcoming fiction and nonfiction releases and previewing dozens of them in lengthy excerpts. The listed books are divided into Fiction, Nonfiction, and Young Adult, with further breakdowns within each section. They range genres, from literary fiction and historical fiction to horror, thriller, and fantasy. I especially appreciate the section highlighting debut authors. Within Nonfiction, there are sections dedicated to memoirs and biographies, politics, history, business, and more.
The end of 2024 and beginning of 2025 have a ton of incredible new books to look forward to. Here are some titles that stood out to me:
Of the books that come with an excerpt, some that I am particularly interested in reading in full include City of Night Birds by Juhea Kim; Shred Sisters by Betsy Lerner; Harlem Rhapsody by Victoria Christopher Murray; North Is the Night by Emily Rath; The Resurrectionist by A. Rae Dunlap; Clever Little Thing by Helena Echlin; The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong; The Stone Witch of Florence by Anna Rasche; This Cursed House by Del Sandeen; The Lotus Shoes by Jane Yang; and I’m Sorry for My Loss: An Urgent Examination of Reproductive Care in America by Rebecca Little and Colleen Long.
Other listed fiction books, without excerpts, that stand out include The Wood at Midwinter by Susanna Clarke; A Sunny Place for Shady People by Mariana Enriquez; Sister Snake by Amanda Lee Koe; A Song to Drown Rivers by Ann Liang; The Devil by Name by Keith Rosson; Songs for the Brokenhearted by Ayelet Tsabari; The Last One at the Wedding by Jason Rekulak; and The Puzzle Box by Danielle Trussoni. Several books within nonfiction—especially relating to music and books, immigration, and rights and social issues—are also now on my short list to read once they’re available.
Buzz Books 2024: Fall/Winter is an excellent resource for avid readers, book influencers, librarians and bookstore workers, and anyone else who works in the publishing industry. There is no shortage of original, connective, and fascinating books to read, and this coming fall and winter will offer a plethora of options for all reading tastes. Seeing this list of books and these curated excerpts has only heightened my excitement for the publications that are coming.

I look forward to Buzz Books every season. I enjoy being able to read an excerpt from upcoming titles. It helps me to judge if I would enjoy the books or not. I like the convenience of having the link to the galley embedded. I learned that one of my favorite authors, Fiona Davis, is coming out with a new title and after reading the excerpt I am very excited for the release!
Thanks to Publishers Lunch BUZZ BOOKS for releasing this preview.

I always look forward to and enjoy these samplers! They contain a great mix of upcoming releases and I always finish them with a longer TBR.

Pros: I love skimming these samplers to learn what books are coming up that I might want to request to read!
Cons: Just that we have to wait to read the books in full
Thank you to NetGalley and Publishers Lunch BUZZ BOOKS for this sampler!

I always look forward to Buzz Books, it is undoubtedly a favourite, although as I make my way through it and the books it covers, it is also true to say that I do groan, time and time again. This is because I am tempted by so many, it is just not possible all that I want to read. Along with new and debut writers, I am drawn to familiar authors, including Rumaan Alam and Jean Hanff Korelitz, and some non-fiction too. Always appreciate the depth and breadth of the books covered, a must read for book lovers. Many thanks Buzz Books!,

Useful for finding out the new books coming from my favorite authors, but not enough samples from books that I want to read.

I always love these catalogues to get a feeling for upcoming releases for the next season. Although 2024 has been quite "frontloaded" when it comes to my most anticipated releases, I'm still looking forward to quite a few. My top 5:
- Shred Sisters by Betsy Lerner
- Old Soul by Susan Baker
- The Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors
- The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong
- Sylvia Doe and the 100-Year Flood by Robert Beatty

Wow get ready readers! There are so many wonderful books coming our way. I love that these Buzz Books allow you to read A bit of a story you might not normally pick up. I found so many books I want to read. I requested quite a few and a few were available right away! Happy reading everyone!

Love these samplers! Such a great mix, and I particularly appreciate the highlighting of debut authors.

NetGalley always offers my most anticipated read of the season and this newest installment of Buzz Books 2024:Fall/Winter does not disappoint. There are so many excerpts that had me hooked from the first page and several are debuts that I can't wait to devour! Some that I immediately added to my constantly growing TBR list are:
Entitlement by Rumaan Alam (set in my favorite city...NYC!)
The Stolen Queen by Fiona Davis (which explores NYC and Egypt!)
Homeseeking by Karissa Chen
Harlem Rhapsody by Victoria Christopher Murray
How Does That Make You Feel, Magda Eklund? by Anna Montague
Penitence by Kris Koval
Thanks to this ARC I know exactly how I'll be spending Fall and Winter!

So happy to get a chance to look at upcoming books. A bunch I haven’t heard of yet so I’m excited to get through these. Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for all these excerpts.

Thanks NetGalley for another opportunity to explore upcoming books. I love this publication and its lengthy excerpts.

Always looking forward to these detailed guides, my TBR grows significantly after reading it. It includes so many titles I would probably never have found on my own. Thank you so much and never stop making it!

I always look forward to the seasons Buzz Books! I find it so helpful as not only a reviewer but also just a reader to be able to preview books I’m interested in but am not sure if I want to purchase or to discover new books that weren’t on my radar previously.

As always - I had to immediately download and read the newest issue of Buzz Books as soon as I saw it! These issues always blow up my tbr in the best way - showing me new books from beloved authors and introducing me to debut authors I haven’t heard of yet. I would love to see more thrillers and romance and less historical fiction - but I definitely still added some to my tbr! Thank you!

I always look forward to the Buzz Books editions. I just finished this one and now have a list of books from favorite authors as well as some intriguing new titles for my TBR list. Looks like I am “booked” through the fall/winter.

I always appreciate these preview collections. So much to get excited about. I do wish they broke it down by/included more genre fiction.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for granting my wish! I love Buzz Books, its really fun to get a look at the upcoming books. Some of the titles I enjoyed sampling are William, The Stolen Queen, The Resurrectionist, and The Dark Becomes Her.

I love the Buzz Books anthologies! I like sampling a few pages of upcoming releases to get a better sense of what I want to pre-order and request here.
