I enjoyed reading this book. A crew takes on a daring mission, but right away it proves to be harder then they thought it would be. This cyclops is not nice and they refuse to give the prince back. The crew tries a number of different plans and each one fails badly. Yet as this adventure comes to a close something surprising ends up happening.

This was a nice story. The illustrations are fun and bright. Everything works well together. I feel like I’ve heard this story before but enjoyed reading this version of it.

Daniela the Pirate and the Evil Cyclops is a delightful picture book about a cyclops that is capturing & eating people, and the pirate who tries to defeat her! I truly loved the illustrations of this book. They were so dynamic and brought the story to life. I also loved that the text emphasized portions that would be fun to act out & think this would be an excellent choice to read aloud.

Although the cyclops was trying to eat the prince, I appreciated that this was a low violence book and humanized both the pirates and the cyclops. This one will definitely be tons of fun for any kiddos that crave adventure!
