The characters that are featured in this book react very realistically to fighting a war as none of them truly set out to fight during their lives and despite being 75 years old are very new to all of it. How I hadn’t read this before today, I’ll never know. This is brilliant, hilarious at times, and deeply emotional. If you love sci-fi, especially space operas, you absolutely have to read this, no matter what. I am looking forward to reading through this entire series.
