This book offers a refreshing take on the enemies-to-lovers trope, centering on Moira, a 42-year-old navigating the aftermath of a failed marriage, and Frank, a charismatic yet infuriating author. Their paths cross when their respective children, Harriet and Aiden, announce a whirlwind engagement. United in skepticism, Moira and Frank embark on a mission to prevent the impending nuptials, leading them on an unexpected journey from Los Angeles to the picturesque landscapes of Greece.

The narrative shines with witty banter and palpable chemistry between the characters. Their evolving relationship, set against the backdrop of sun-soaked beaches, is both humorous and heartfelt. While I sometimes wanted deeper character development, the story's charm lies in its exploration of love's unpredictability and the possibility of new beginnings at any age.

This book was written for you if:
- You enjoy mature protagonists finding love in unexpected places.
- You're a fan of romantic comedies with a travel twist.
- You appreciate stories that blend humor with emotional depth.

I really enjoyed this and flew through it. I enjoyed the snarky sarcastic banter between Moira and Frank and how decisions that they'd both made in the past were leading them to believe their children shouldn't rush into marriage. I like that it wasn't an instant attraction, and it took them time to realise that they were truly making each other happy. This would be the perfect holiday read with the perfect mix of romance and comedy. I highly recommend.

This was a solid 3.75 in terms of summery romcoms. They characters had some decent banter and it was easy to slip into their world. Some of the miscommunication trope was tiresome but bingeable for the beach.

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture, and author Carol Mason for this ARC.

In LA, Moira is reeling from a troubled marriage, while her daughter Harriet is studying abroad. When Harriet announces she’s marrying Aiden after just six weeks, Moira is shocked. She meets Aiden’s father, Frank, and though they clash, they agree—their kids are rushing into things.

Teaming up to delay the wedding, their plan backfires, leading to heated arguments and unexpected attraction. When Harriet and Aiden elope to Greece, Moira and Frank race after them—one to support, the other to stop it. But along the way, their own connection deepens. Could their kids’ whirlwind romance spark one of their own?

I really enjoyed this book! The second-chance romance was refreshing, and the enemies-to-lovers dynamic was great. I loved the banter between Moira and Frank… this would be a perfect summer getaway read!

This was a VERY funny twist on one of my favorite tropes. I love reading romances that feature older protagonists, as I feel like a lot of what I read are college-aged main characters. This was a fun change!

I love the second chance romance trope but not sure this book was for me. The FMC was a little annoying and frustrating at times but still enjoyable largely.

I generally try to read books with characters around my age or younger, a life chapter I’ve lived through and can identify with, but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone with this and give it a shot — just not up my alley.

Onjectively though, the banter and the writing was REALLY GOOD and funny, so i’m still giving it four stars. Maybe I’ll try again in 10 years when I (hopefully) have kids and life experience and can relate a little bit more.

I binge read this book in one night. I found it to be very witty. This was make a perfect summer read. Moira and Frank’s story was so much fun. I love a good enemies-to-lovers story, and the banter between these two was * chefs kiss*👌. The story is set between mostly LA and Greece, and I loved how the writing was so descriptive and detailed that I could easily visualize these locations. Super cute read!

This was a refreshing read by Carol Mason - it's rare to find a fun, flirty rom-com with the main characters in their 40s! I am a huge Mamma Mia fan so anything even remotely adjacent will catch my eye, and this book certainly did! The plot was surprisingly unique and I was able to connect with Moira a lot throughout the story. When winter rolls around and you need an escape, don't miss this one!! I'll be over here, patiently waiting for Mason to write a sequel...

I I picked up and put this book down so many times but in the end it just wasn’t for me. Just wasn’t a huge fan of parents meddling in their children’s love life.

I gave his 3.5 stars. It was an engaging book but at
Times I felt frustrated with the female main character. It felt like she was the roadblock to things she wanted.

Second chance romances are one of my favorite tropes. These characters were hilarious, dazzling, and so unbelievably lovable! I really hope that the author keeps writing more!!

I will happily admit that it was the gorgeous brightly coloured covered that captured my initial attention but after glancing at the blurb it confirmed that I definitely had to give this book a go...

.. and the author too as I've not read anything by them before. And I'm glad I gave this a shot as it was highly enjoyable.

I loved the dynamics between Moira and Frank, and their plotting to split up their children's relationship, and their text message exchanges are great fun.

And the following their kids half way around the world from LA to Greece is brilliant, and the story between them really gets going once they are on Greek soil.

The scenes in Athens around the Plaka reminded me of my short time of Athens and everything that was described in Santorini off season, reminded me of the start of season in Zante the summer I worked there - complete with the cold and weather!

Oh to be Harriet and Aiden, young and in love, they really made me envious, of things that I never had, and I'm more Moira's age but without any of her experiences.

Moira spends the book torn in what to do about her husband back in England, she is convinced he is cheating, but instead of talking it through rationally, she basically spends 3 months ignoring of all his messages - ok that sounds like something I would do!

This was just a highly enjoyable escapist novel that made my cold fade away into the background, and I was totally focused on my enjoyment of the words of this story. Definitely a great introduction for me to this author, and I'll be curious to see what she writes next.

Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This was a cute book! It started out slow for me, but the characters grew on me..

I was surprised to read in the summary that the characters were 45 and 42, when they read much older to me. Ultimately, however, the romance felt exciting and made for a fun summer read.
