I feel like the title of this book is a bit misleading, because the title makes it seem like the event of the wedding takes up a large part of the plot of this book, when it does not – this book is not about a wedding, it’s about a marriage of convenience so to say to safe the job of one of the protagonists (although the reasoning was very flimsy).
And then there is the blurb – it describes everything that happens up to the 70% mark of the book, that is way too much information for a book that doesn’t have that much plot going on to begin with.
This book is advertised as a laugh out loud comedy, and I feel like whenever a book claims to be that, you have to take it with a grain of salt. This book was funny-ish not something I would laugh out loud at. And I feel like it is similar with all the other advertised qualities of this book. This was an enjoyable read to me, but nothing earth-shattering. I was rooting for the love interests, but I did not feel yearning between them. A lot of the romantic moments felt cheesy and inauthentic because of that. I wouldn’t have been heartbroken if the story had ended differently, either.
It was interesting to read about the publishing process of a book, but making your protagonist a writer and that being the majority of their personality and the plot felt a bit like lazy writing. (It’s a bit like cooking pasta. Nothing against pasta, I love it. But it is one of the few go to dishes you can make within 10 min and be satisfied with. I feel similar, reading about writers as protagonists. It is good and interesting, but it has been done a lot, and it feels a bit like an easy way out.)
The narrators of the audiobook did a great job bringing the characters to life. I am not sure that I would have gone through the book so quickly without them.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for gifting me this ALC of the audiobook to review. All opinions are my own. I was not paid to leave this review.

The is one is a bit quirky but I enjoyed it! The crazy characters at the retreat location and all the things these two went through to try to save their behinds. I love how their relationship just sort of built up over time, kind of by accident.

Thank you to NetGalley and @Dreamscapemedia for the ARC. I loved this book. It was funny, romantic, great banter and so much fun to read. I will be watching for more books by KJ Micciche.

Fun, cute, quick read and perfect for the summer!
CJ is a librarian who was accepted into an MFA program where famous author Nate Ellis is an advisor. During break they are caught in a compromising position and they decide to get married so that neither of them get kicked out of the program.
Dual POV, Famous author, student writer, drunk karaoke and marriage of convenience made this book such a light and fun read.
This book was not mind blowing in any way but it was definitely a fun read and I really enjoyed the premise and seeing both of their POVs. I really liked both characters, their sense of humor and quirkiness and how they were developed.
I completed a hybrid reading of this book- I read the physical copy while listening to the audiobook and really enjoyed both! The narration was well done and the book was very good!
3.4 stars rounded up to 4!

I enjoyed this book. It was humorous, kept my attention and was entertaining. Could everything have been resolved with a bit of simple honesty, sure. Are some of the things that happen just a bit far fetched, absolutely. Do we read books because everything will go right and be perfectly believable, of course not! This book is a great reminder that lies have consequences and sometimes you have to keep lying to maintain the first lie. This book just presents that lesson in a fun way. The chemistry between the two main characters is very believable and I enjoy the journey the go on before they work things out. I also enjoyed the insight into the writing process. It made me have even more respect for book writers and the work that they do.
Thank you so much to NetGalley for providing me with access to the audio version of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Rating: 3.5 stars 🌟🌟🌟💫
A cute marriage of conveince romance focused on Cecily and Nate, two characters on different ends of the spectrum of the literary world. Cecily is an aspiring romance author working in a the New York Public Library System about to join an MFA program to focus on her writing while Nate is already a famed published author who joins the MFA program as an instrutor hoping to find inspiration for his sophmore novel. The two have instant chemistry that eventually finds them in a comprimising position that puts Nate's career and position as an instrutor on the line. In order to save Nate, Cecily proposes a plotline straight out of some of her favorite romance novels, a fake marriage 💒💍
Ulitmatley I thought this was a fun, sweet, read! The story line focuses a lot on the intricacies of the writing and publishing world which could provide a really intresting pespective to readers who are intrested in it. The book itself felt a litte short and I personally wish there was more time spent showing the relationship between Nate and Cecily developing. The ending felt a bit rushed and I wish I could have seen Cecily's hardwork throughout the novel pay off in a more significant way. Overall, I liked the book and enjoyed spending some time emersed in CJ and Nate's world!
Thank you to K.J. Micciche, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for providing me with the ALC to listen to 🥰

"A Storybook Wedding" by KJ Micciche is a delightful romance that captures the essence of the marriage of convenience theme, set in the literary world. Cecily, a librarian with dreams of becoming a published author, finds herself accepted into an MFA program, her excitement tempered only by her ambitions. Nate, a celebrated author struggling with writer's block, joins the program as a tutor, hoping it will reignite his creative spark. The chemistry between Cecily and Nate is palpable from their first meeting, and their journey together is both fun and engaging. Aside from some predictable plot points and the somewhat simplistic resolution of CJ's family issues, the book offers an enjoyable exploration of the characters' personal and professional lives.
The narration provided by Kelli Tager & Nick Modelli greatly enhances the overall listening experience. For fans of the fake marriage theme and those who appreciate a good romance with a literary twist, "A Storybook Wedding" is a heartwarming and entertaining read.
Special thanks to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and the editorial team for giving me the opportunity to review the ARC in audiobook format and to you, my reader, for taking the time to read this honest personal book review.

This was so cute. I loved it. The characters, world building and story telling were great. It kept me interested and involved.

Loved this cute fake boyfriend (husband) to lovers story. It was fun, light-hearted with great characters that really had you rooting for them to succeed! I couldn't get through the book fast enough!

This was super cute and I loved the narrators! I am behind on my instagram reviews, but I will get to it!

(3.5/5)
This book was so cute and special to read! Honestly, I think that book description was slightly off, as the marriage aspect doesn't appear until over halfway into the book and isn't as big of a plot line as I anticipated. These two clearly were meant to be, and was it a little odd that they got married even though that was exactly what they didn't want to do at that point in their lives? However, it did also make sense that they got married because they wanted the same exact thing.
The writer's retreat and their journeys were fun to read and very well written. The third-act conflict was predictable for me, but not in a bad way! One of my biggest pet peeves, however, is when one of the characters has a terrible family and suddenly they are understanding and supportive... that's how this one felt.
I do wish this book moved a little bit faster in parts, it was definitely a slow burn, but it was an enjoyable read!

This was an overall quick, fun read and will work well as a summertime read as well.
what I loved:
- getting more insights into the literary world
- marriage of convenience/fake wedding trope
- Loved the chemistry between CJ and Nate
What I would change/ didn't like:
- I feel like the book could have been a little shorter
- some scenes felt unnecessary
- I wanted Nate to have a little more sexiness to him, I felt like he was missing something
***Thank you to NetGalley, K.J Micciche, and Dreamscape Media for graciously sending me the audiobook to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.***

Oh how I love thee a good old marriage of convenience story, especially one that doesn't involve the two characters to marry because of the stipulation of a will. In this case Cecily (or CJ) and Nate are forced to marry to save their reputations due to CJ being a student while Nate is a tutor for a postgraduate writing program.
There's a lot of examinations of writing, the publishing industry which were interesting. Unfortunately, I found the plot development just too flimsy which, in turn affected the way the story unravels, which made it not as satisfying listening. I also found the sub-plot of CJ's awful family and her sister marrying CJ's ex-boyfriend unsatisfactory in resolution with CJ just forgiving everyone without them showing any real remorse or actions to indicate they've changed. I'd have loved to have seen CJ come much earlier to losing her people-pleasing tendencies earlier.
Narrators Kelli Tager and Nick Modelli bring CJ and Nate to life. Kelli has a warm welcoming interpretation of CJ, which, at times, doesn't always fit how I view the character, but gives an otherwise lovely performance
Thanks to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the ALC.

A Storybook Wedding was silly but good. A lot of things struck me as improbable (most particularly an in-person class session taking place during the week between Christmas and New Year's), but there was an earnest sweetness and honesty about the story that helped overcome the silliness. Cecily wants to change her life--to leave her librarian job behind and make it as a literary author. (Not sure what convinced her she needed an MFA to do so, but that's me nit-picking again!) Nate wants to get over his writing block and live up to his over-hyped reputation as an award-winning author, and he thinks teaching at an MFA program will help. The marriage of convenience trope is harder to pull off in contemporary fiction than it is in historical romance, so author KJ Micciche had to resort to a convoluted story to make it happen, but happen it does, and then Cecily and Nate have to successfully snow their colleagues (and yes, of course there's a snow-storm setting, as well). The villain is a bit cartoonish, as is the draconian discipline exacted by the program administrators, but this is a romance, so y'all know how it will end, right? I'm not going to share this review on social media because I'm not gushing with approval, but I wouldn't automatically dismiss other titles by this author, and I don't begrudge the time I spent listening to the audiobook.

Okay but this was adorable and I enjoyed it start to finish. What we have here is a fake marriage to save a job. Love it.
Cecily is a librarian who dreams of being a published author. Nate is an author trying not to be a one-hit-wonder. When Cecily is accepted into an MFA program she is over the moon excited! This is definitely going to put her on the right track to publishing a book. When Nate decides to teach the MFA program he does so hoping that he will find some inspiration for his long overdue second publication. Along the way Nate and Cecily become interested in each other but neither really pursue it until one night when Cecily is trying to move outside her comfort zone and ends up kissing Nate VERY publicly. In an effort to not get Nate fired for kissing a student and her to not get booted from the program they decide to fake a marriage. You know how it goes from here.
I definitely recommend this book to the lovers of the fake marriage trope.

A Storybook Wedding by KJ Micciche, narrated by Kelli Tager and Nick Mondelli, was a very cute listen. Both narrators did an excellent job. They kept me engaged and wanting to continue listening.
The overall story was cute. Cecily wants something different than her sisters. Instead of getting married and popping out babies, she wants to become a published author. Cecily is accepted to and receives a scholarship for an MFA program. She packs her bags and heads to the program with her eyes wide open. Nate Ellis is a highly successful, published author who is teaching in the MFA program.
One evening, after Cecily attends one of Nate's book readings at a local coffee shop, Cecily drags Nate to a karaoke bar. One thing leads to another and Cecily (who rarely drinks but has a couple glasses of wine) gets swept up in the moment and kisses Nate. This kiss is caught on camera and is aired on a popular TV program.
Unfortunately, the college has a strict policy on relationships between students and staff and Nate is fearful that he will lose his job and that Cecily will lose her place in the MFA program.
Enter fake marriage proposal by Cecily, which leads to fake marriage and several different conundrums.
This was a cute story. 3.5 stars out of 5.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced listen in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Cecily is a good kind person who has always put on a happy face for the sake of her family no matter how terribly they treat her. I was rooting for her immediately. Her sister married her sort of ex-boyfriend and she’s just supposed to understand, be over the moon hoary for her and stop being such a disappointment for not being married and popping out kids as her family expects/demands. That her dreams are different and she wants to be a published author is just ridiculous to them all. When she gets into an MFA program, she believes she is on her way to living her dream. Not so fast Cecily as her fellow students are horrible, rude, treat her terribly and the moderator of the moderator (guest author Nate Ellis) just allows it to happen. She is unsurprisingly crushed. When she and Nate Ellis, one of guest authors of the program get caught in a drunken kiss post karaoke performance, they get married to save his job and her place in the program. What could go wrong? So many things, some of which are heartbreaking for her gentle kind heart that never fails to put any and everyones best interests in front her her own. This is of course a rom com, so we do get a wonderful happily ever after, but not before you want to give everyone in her world a gentle (or not so gentle) well deserved smack to the back of the head (hehe!).

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and KJ Michele for allowing me an audiobook of this in exchange for an honest review.
I honestly really enjoyed this! The concept was fun, the book was funny, and I sped through it pretty quickly! I’d definitely recommend giving this one a go!

This was a cute and easy read, perfect for the summer. I enjoyed the marriage of convenience trope although I was uncertain how I would like it at first. I loved how our main characters were authors and the insight that brought into the career entails. Although the plot was good I felt that the pacing was a little off especially towards the middle.

When librarian Cecily Jane Allerton and struggling author Nate Ellis find themselves in a compromising situation during their MFA program, they impulsively decide to get married to protect their careers from scandal. They decide to keep their fake marriage a secret from Cecily’s family, who adore grand weddings, and elope to City Hall. Now back on Block Island, they must pretend to be a genuine married couple, discovering that while their marriage may be fake, their mutual attraction is anything but. With Cecily aiming for a literary award for a manuscript written a little *too similarly* to real life events, Nate battling writer’s block, and plans to annul the marriage post-program, what could possibly go wrong?

I picked this book up in the bookstore because I thought the cover was 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 and I love a good book about books. I also was graciously given an ALC copy of the audiobook from Dreamscape Media. While the book itself was well-written with an interesting premise and the audiobook was quite entertaining, there were some things that made this book a miss for me as a whole.

Overall, I’m glad I finished the book because I feel like the ending redeemed it for me just a bit, but it really wasn’t my favorite. I’d be willing to try more from this author in the future though, because I do feel like it was well-written. I just had a hard time connecting to the characters and buying into this plot.
