"The Perks of Being an S-Class Heroine" follows Ailette, a girl who is a woman who died in a previous life and was transported into a new world with new struggles. However, with the help of her insurance package and vast knowledge of her new world, Ailette becomes someone who shines and overcomes just about any obstacle. The scenes surrounding family are heartwarming, and the story makes me wish I could easily gain skills by leveling up too.
5/5
This book follows a recently deceased woman who had lived through a life of hardship but is sent to the afterlife where she has the chance to transmigrate into a story world. Lucky for her, she’s the first person to have (accidentally) chosen the complete insurance package. Unlucky for her, she is thrown into an S-Tier world, the most difficult setting. Transmigrated into the life of Ailette Rodeline, a poor servant’s daughter, she must now use everything gifted to her by the system to fight for the chance to live her second life.
This book is hilarious. And absurd. And so fun.
I was entranced! I read this so fast, I need more!! I can’t wait to see how the story progresses. I love that webtoons are getting published these days. There are so many good ones and this one caught me by surprise.
Did I mention it’s ALL in colour? Cry your heart out manga (disclaimer: I absolutely love manga and do not disrespect it in any way, this was clearly just a joke). The art style was consistent and cute. I loved the use of game pop-ups to represent the afterlife system. My favourite character is 100% the Voice that Shapes the World.
Now my problem is do I wait for the second volume to be published? Or do I go straight to webtoons and read it there?
I actually didn't end up finishing this one. It felt like a lot of the other isekai stories I have been taking in lately, and this one didn't offer me anything that I enjoyed better than the other series I'm enjoying. It's not bad by any means. I am just enjoying other series with similar plots more.
What a beautiful book! The artwork in this is absolutely gorgeous, it's worth reading just to see the images. Thankfully the story is also super unique and fun. I admit some parts are a little convoluted and understanding the rules of this specific type of afterlife gets a little muddled. But the story is exciting and funny and reads like a game which is just enjoyable. Ailette is a likeable and strong character and I found myself very invested in her growth. I really liked this one and will definitely read volume 2!
In this cute book, reincarnation is given an interesting twist as our titular S-Class Heroine is thrust into a world based on a time loop novel. However, she's not going to slog her way through the tutorial - she's managed to get a great set of perks as part of an insurance package. The comic has a very "meta" feel to it, with the main character continually breaking the fourth wall of her environment to access hidden system menus and character settings like she's holding the cheat codes to life. The art is lovely and the dialogue is fun. I did find the first bit of the story confusing, likely because of a few text formatting issues that made me miss some dialogue/exposition in the advance reader copy I was sent. However, the overall story came through clearly and the art style added to the experience. I received this book free from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Perks of Being an S-Class Heroine, Vol. 1 by Grrr was such a nice surprise, and I really enjoyed my time reading this one. It's an isekai manhwa (reincarnated into another world story) that follows a young woman sent into a servant child's body and she tries to survive in her new world by acquiring strong and useful abilities. I definitely want to read more after that ending!!! <3

Different take on a popular troupe. Glad I picked this one up and will definitely continue the series when I'm able.
Like always though, read it and decide for yourself
It’s been a long time since I’ve read something so fast paced and unique!!
This first volume definitely makes me think of the novel Ready, Player One. It combines basically a video game with real life and the main character falls into a novel. It’s such a unique idea that I flew through this volume and read it in one sitting. I am loving the plot and already want volume 2 after the cliffhanger!!
An interesting story about falling in love with beautiful drawings. I liked that the first volume is quite intense. It reminds me «Villains are destined to die”.
Ailette is the prodigy child in a noble's estate. Her father thinks she's destined to become an alchemist, The head chef wants her to become her apprentice. And the head maid thinks Ailette should be serving tea at the palace. It wasn't always like this though. Ailette's original fate was to mysteriously vanish after a demon attack, never to be seen again. That would have happened too if the gods hadn't discovered transmigration stories and Ailette's original self hadn't bought the ultra deluxe transmigration life insurance policy upon her death. Now Ailette is stuck in an S class transmigration world where everything exists inside a time loop. She must use her skills to keep herself and her companions alive.
The first volume of Being an S-Class Heroine is a great, slightly satiric transmigration story. If you are a fan of isekais, reincarnation stories, manga in which truck san sends the main character off into a new adventure, etc then you will probably love this. The art is great and the story is very self aware of what it is. The quality of the physical edition is also really good, which takes the sting out the inevitable higher price of these physically published manhua/webtoons.
A really cute start to an isekai! I really liked the concept of how she gets transported to the other world. It will be a really cute series!
I enjoy colour mangas and the art in this one is as in the cover - detailed, smooth, clear and expressive.
The concept of life insurance crosses RPG and being able to purchase skills is highly interesting.
Our protagonist is cute and curious, and the plot is dense with obstacles; mostly created by evil characters.
I am looking forward to the next volume especially because the pacing of this volume is not 100% for me as it establishes the concept and the characters.
All in all, a very cute, engaging and fun manga series installment.
Clean read.
This is hilarious concept for transmitting.
I read a lot of manwhas in this genre, this author has done an excellent job creating a unique story.
Love that we still get the cliche story but with a twist, love the scene for doll playtime.
I can’t wait to read volume 2.
This female lead in kid form is gonna be a master of everything before she’s 20.
How many times have we seen the typical scene where our protagonist is crossing the street and suddenly they get hit by a truck that takes them directly to their new life in a novel/game/manga/etc.? A thousand time, but how many of those times do we see our protagonist manage to buy life insurance that ensures they have a successful new life in the world they are reincarnated in?
Well, that's how our story begins, with our protagonist being taken via truck straight to the lobby where the new lives of the transmigrators are assigned. When they ask her what gender she wants, she without hesitation chooses child care, because her dream is to have a loving family and to be adored and pampered, something she couldn't enjoy in her life, so she is terribly upset when she ends up being reincarnated in the novel that is not only fantasy and very grim, but it is the one that had horrible reviews for having a horrible ending in which everyone basically dies. So now that she's Ailette Rodeline, an extra in that novel, she's going to use all the benefits of the life insurance they gave her to be able to survive this hellish novel no matter what, so she starts buying all the skills she can to be able to leave the tutorial with enough level to survive this hellish story.
I absolutely LOVED this manhwa, it's not only fun and interesting in how the story plays out but the art is su adorable, bright and lovely. It really is the full package for anyone that loves fantasy and isekai-like stories.
This book is perfect for fans of The Strongest Florist and The First Night With the Duke! My only complaint is that it ended too soon 😭
The art work was super cute, the charecters are likeable and the world building is pretty easy to follow.
This was the most inventive, entertaining and hilarious transmigration story I’ve read to date! The main character is smart, adorable and willing to do whatever it takes to acquire the skills necessary to survive.
I loved the concept of Allie being able to communicate with the TM Gods. I’m hoping we’ll get to see her interact with more in the future. I also loved that she could see screens giving her information about where she was, the skills she acquired and the shop ability. It was just super creative!
I blasted through this super quickly and I cannot wait for the next volume! Highly recommend!
First of all, thank you NetGalley and Yen Press for this awesome ARC of The Perks of Being an S-Class Heroine Vol. 1. I've seen this a lot online but I haven't read it yet because I read more of a romance or action packed manhwas and mangas. But not on this one, the art style was cute and it was an easy read. I also love how comedic Allie is also her friendship with Bia, though her brother and father were only give small screen time. I'm excited for the second volume already!
This was such a fun surprise! There are a lot of isekai manga that follow the premise of being reborn into a video game/visual novel world, but I like the twists that this makes on the genre. Definitely a fresh spin that made me more interested in continuing the series after this volume. I loved the character design, and the illustrations themselves are gorgeous as well. Definitely worth the read, I'd recommend it to anyone who is a fan of comedy/fantasy manga!
Our heroine meets an untimely death but received a message just before asking her if she wanted to purchase the full insurance package for her transmigration journey. Once in the afterlife, she is asked what kind of story she wanted to be placed in, and she asked for a childcare fantasy, but she gets an S-class novel instead! Rather than live out her afterlife in relative ease compared to the hardships she endured in her first life, she’s now stuck as Ailette, an energetic child of an alchemist serving a noble household. Thankfully, she thought to partake in the full insurance package, so can purchase skills such as cooking, alchemy, fighting, and impress everyone into thinking she's a child prodigy, all to help her navigate her difficult storyline!
This was quite the twisted set up to get to a Regressor reincarnation story, but once the main story started, it was pretty entertaining. There are RPG elements like Solo Leveling where the main character can buy items from a shop and has an inventory. But she can also interact with the “creators” who transmigrated her to this storyline, which adds a comical layer and provides an interesting running commentary on her actions as well as their own. They judge each other and Ailette is sometimes able to use them against each other to get her way.
IZE Press rates this for Teen, and volume one would be suitable for middle school and high school audiences.

In this book, people are mysteriously dying, yet in the afterlife, they have the option to transmigrate to a new world with varying genres. The main character asks to be put into a childcare romantasy, but is put into the hardest ranked story. With the help of a lot of money, an omnipotent god, and new skills, the main character must journey into the new world and survive.
There were so many aspects of this book that I enjoyed. First was the crazy shop that allowed the main character to buy buffs for herself which was hilarious. I can’t wait to see what new skills she unlocks. I like that she could see her EXP levels increase throughout the book.
I also adore the omnipotent god that is more like a nosy neighbor. The fact that the structure of the gods is like a corporate company was very funny. I was laughing at the amount of work that was thrown to some poor intern. I enjoy stories where there is a game operator that the main character can talk to.
I am really excited to continue with this series and I hope that more of it will come out soon!
