Thanks to Netgalley & Random House Publishing Group for the E-ARC! I really enjoyed this. Loved the vibes & the main character. Will definitely read more from this author.

Thank you to Random House for the advance copy. Sadly, this book didn't resonate with me. The narrative, which included multiple points of view, podcast dialogues, and excerpts from Blood Feud, felt fragmented. There was an overload of elements that made it hard for me to stay engaged.

I really wanted to like this. I felt like I was finally get back into a supernatural vibes., but this is too much going on. The story inside a story inside fan fiction was more than I was expecting, and too many characters to keep track of. Which is not something I'm good with.

This was such a fun read! If you have ever dreamed of being a part of your favorite vampire novel this is the book for you! Meet Tess, a devoted fan of the Blood Feud series, just like everyone else in her generation. Rumors swirl that the vampires from the books might actually exist, and Tess's life takes a thrilling turn when she finds herself stranded on an island with them. The narrative cleverly alternates between Tess's gripping encounters with these vampires and excerpts from the Blood Feud books, providing intriguing backstory. For anyone who has ever dreamed of living inside their favorite vampire tale, mark your calendars for October 1st—this is a must-add to your reading list!

I went into this book with high hopes because after reading the description, I felt like I needed to read this! While it didn’t really live up to my expectations, it wasn’t bad! It was funny and goofy and times but just… not interesting to me at others. I do love a vampire romance and this one slayed ag times but the book felt flat for me in the end. While this may not have been for me, it certainly could work for you!!!! 🧛♂️
Thanks NetGalley for an ARC!

Unfortunately, I don’t think this book was for me. The excerpts, while entertaining in the beginning, started to really take me out of the story as it went on. Specifically, the podcast. It was fun to have the background in the beginning, but then I just found myself having a hard time picking the book back up. I also found the dialogue to be a little choppy, and the characters felt really flat for me. I went into this book excited, and I really wanted to like it. I think the premise was intriguing and I was here for Tess’s healing journey, I just think the rest of it could’ve been rounded out better and the characters could’ve been developed a little better to help me connect.

Fang Fiction by Kate Stayman-London follows a woman named Tess who is a huge fan of a series of vampire books and actually believes that they may be based on a true story due to overwhelming evidence supporting that fact. So when it turns out that she is not far from the truth, she is up for the adventure, if she can survive it.
I am so bummed that I didn’t love this book. I wanted to so much because I loved this author’s debut book and I love cheesy vampire books. But I just never felt connected to this story. The magic system was kind of hard to understand, there were too many povs which made it impossible to connect to the characters, and the tone jumped from light and cheesy to very dark and serious randomly. All the mixed media inserts felt pointless.
There were a few scenes in here that felt like they had been ripped straight out of twilight and the vampire diaries. I’m sure there are a lot do people who will enjoy this book. I just wanted so much more from it.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing an eARC of this story, this is my objective review. Tess is an ex-PhD student in comparative literature at Columbia and current hotel manager. She's a fan of a Vampire Diaries-type set of books, and a "vampire truther" who thinks the stories are actually real. I like the premise although it's been done before (on the TV show Supernatural, for example). That said, this was a fun story: the writing was engaging, nice touches of humor, events kicked in quickly, it wasn't hard to follow, nice resolution after some twists and turns. Perfect for anyone who's ever wanted to fall into the world of their favorite book, TV show, etc. Fun format, alternating between events in the story and excerpts from the "Blood Feud" books and other story-reality media bites. Definitely read the author's note in the before with the content warnings, there was a serious issue in this story that was handled carefully and well by the author. I've read another book by this author and enjoyed it, I actually liked this one even more. Looking forward to her future books.
This review will be posted on social media on September 15th.

this was alot of fun! i loved that it was just goofy and a fun book. the romance was great too. I will read more from this author

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Random House, Dial Press Trade, and Kate Stayman-London for allowing me to review this unique rom-com. What a great premise! I think we have all dreamt of meeting our favorite characters from books and jumping into their worlds. I love that it involves vampires even more! It was a bit jarring to suspend reality so much, but I had fun reading it. This is a great choice for anyone who has ever dreamt of jumping into their favorite books, rom-coms, and vampires. I had a great time and look forward to reading more from this author. Thank you again for allowing me to review this swoon worthy rom-com.

Omg… am I a vampire girlie after all?!
I could have sworn I wasn’t, but I think Kate Stayman-London may have turned me. ✨🤍
This story is both like nothing I’ve ever read AND every readers’ dream.
Some of my favorite elements:
✨ the characters!!! Even the side characters in this one were just perfect.
✨ the banter. If you loved the writing style of One To Watch, you will eat this one up too.
✨ the world building. It was simple, believable, and none of it distracted from the greater story.
WHAT I didn’t like:
🤍 no notes.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This would be a perfect choice for an October book club ✨ and it’s out 10/1!!
Thank you Dial Press / Random House for the NetGalley ARC!

This story had a lot of potential, but it experienced a noticeable lag about halfway through, making it difficult for me to stay engaged. While I enjoyed the characters, the frequent shifts in point of view within the same chapter were jarring and often left me needing to backtrack to remember whose perspective I was reading. Despite these challenges, I found the overall story and concept to be fresh and exciting. The world-building of the isle and the plot twist at the end were particularly well done. However, the narrative flow could have been smoother. Thank you again for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

What caught me? The title of course.
What kept me here? The story!
I thought it was a wonderful plot that has a lot of potential. This book does have a few triggers of my own which at one point made it a little hard to continue but that was more on me than the book. I do believe the representation of gender-based crimes and issues is important.
At times, I'm not sure how to say it, but kind of read a little wattpad-y? In terms of mediocre and ending on points left to said but were never said.

Really enjoyed this cute fantasy rom com. I can appreciate the sensitivity of the main character's backstory because it's not an easy subject but I think the author did an amazing job of weaving it into the plot.

Fang Fiction is a gripping novel that delves into important themes such as gender-based violence and the impact of academia on literature. Set on a gothic campus in NYC, the story is a mix of vampire lore and real life academia, making for a captivating read. The inclusion of mixed media adds depth to the narrative, while the lesbian representation adds an element of diversity.
The novel is reminiscent of dark academia vibes, with a touch of smutty vampire tale that is sure to enthrall readers. The setting of a hotel with desert hues of sage, rose, and terra cotta adds to the atmospheric feel of the story. The vampire anthology and the ramping up of vampire obsession keep the plot engaging throughout.
The book is a must-read for fans of vampire flicks, especially those looking for a punchy and intense read. The author effortlessly weaves multiple storylines together, creating a complex and intriguing narrative. However, some readers may find the ending a bit drawn out with too much adventure time and explaining.
Overall, Fang Fiction is a compelling read that tackles important issues while delivering an entertaining story. I gave it four stars and am grateful to NetGalley for the ARC, as it was a refreshing return to reading after a break. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a unique and thought-provoking read.

What reader would refuse the opportunity to visit the fictional world from their favorite book? Okay, maybe those whose favorite book is The Road by Cormac McCarthy, but most of us would jump right in. That is what happens to our main character Tess. Only her favorite fictional world is full of vampires.
Chaos ensues.
I found it a clever use of podcasts and reddit posts to explain to the reader how things supposedly work in this magical Isle that Tess crosses over to. But sadly because of the breaks between worlds, I found the pacing off and lacking in the tension you assume you would find with a human in a world of vampires. It is a great idea that lacked in the actual follow through of the storytelling.
Thank you to the publisher for the free copy in exchange for my honest review.

Is This Real Life 🧛♀️💃🏻🗽🩸
Imagine your favorite fantasy vampire book series that you’ve read dozens of times because it’s just that good is actually real life.
Well, that’s what happened to Tess.
Dealing with the trauma of assault, trying to figure out what she’s going to do with her life, the last thing she expected was to find out her favorite character from her favorite books are real people…errr…vampires. And she might be able to help them in ways she’d never thought possible. But, will she make it out unscathed?
I really liked this one! It did seem to drag a bit, but the story itself was unique and so fun.
Thanks to @NetGalley for this arc, mark your calendars for this one out October 1st!

I think this was a really fun and goofy book. I loved the relationship and overall I think it was a fun time!

Tess Rosenbloom, an avid fan of vampire fiction, discovers that her beloved novels may not be as fictional. This dark and glamorous rom-com takes readers on a thrilling journey where Tess is entangled in a world of real vampires and unexpected romance. It was a unique premise that she had been obsessed with the characters of her favorite books, and they needed her help. To kick off the adventure, Tess must help her beloved characters escape their imprisonment from their island and her mundane existence. Meanwhile, Tess's estranged best friend is in a passionate affair with a beautiful vampire.
This book is part humor, action, mystery, and romance, all blended into one book. Did I mention that there is LGBTQIA+ rep? And witches? I mean, you can't beat that. There is also a theme of resiliency where Tess addresses her past trauma. It makes her relatable and explores her narrative. Because the storyline is based on a popular book series at its core, there are cutaways to fan fiction theories on blog posts, Reddit posts, and podcasts within the chapters that can seem chaotic. There are many characters and side plots, plus two locations. If this is the first in a series, it could be setting up things that will come around. It does serve the allure of vampire lore and adds to the spin of magic. Honestly, the author explores if the dreams you have been chasing are worth the risk or if self-discovery is the reward.
I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review. Thank you, NetGalley and Random House Publishing, Dial Press Trade Paperback.

Thank you, NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Random House | Dial Press Trade Paperback for this advanced reader's copy. I read Kate Stayman-London's first book "One to Watch" and absolutely loved it so when I saw the author had another book coming out, I knew I had to read it. This book was a banger!! Tess is obsessed with the books, Blood Feud, all about her favorite fictional vampires. Then she finds out they're REAL! One of the vampires from her favorite books walks right in the door of the chic Brooklyn hotel where she works and tells her she needs her help. Octavia is stuck in NYC and her brother is stuck on the secret island where she came from. The island of vampires. Soon Tess is agreeing to go the island herself and figure out a way to get Octavia back to the island. But Tess is finding Octavia's brother, Callum, hard to resist. This book was so much fun and a little spicy!
