This eARC was given to me by Netgalley.com and I am providing an unbiased review.

Where do I start with this one? Well, if you remember from the 1980's, there was a television show called Spenser For Hire starring Robert Urich as a private detective in Boston named Spenser. I did not know then, this was based on the first books Robert Parker had put out, but I grew up loving that show. As an adult, I went back and through the library read pretty much the whole series, and some off-shoots as well. This is around/about book 52 in the Spenser series, with the last dozen (guessing) written by a few different authors.

I always love getting back into the character lives of a large series like this one. I have written a few reviews on other books by Lupica, including a Spenser book or two. He has well-mastered the writing style Parker had created and used for his stories, and it just helps (in my mind) how I play the story out in my imagination as I read it. One of the things I really liked about this story, is the connection to many of the other series that Parker had created (Jesse Stone, Sunny Randall). Both of those characters either made an appearance, or were mentioned, at some point in the tale. This series has always been one of my favorites, and would like to see more, but not sure where the story can go after this many books.

I'm a big fan, back to the originals and think Mike Lupica has done a good job (big shoes to fill). With that said, this one moved a bit slow and didn't resonate so much with me...maybe it's me? I sure won't stop reading these! Lots of tie ins with his other book characters!!

Spenser investigates a case that hits far too close to home for his comfort in this latest installment of Robert B. Parker's beloved series! This book and series is fantastic! It had great suspense, intrigue, murder, mystery, great characters, a great who done it and some crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued to my kindle! I definitely recommend reading this series! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

Lupica's continuation of the Spenser series is fantastic. Hot Property is full of twists, humor, and the characters that we've grown to love.

Hot Property is the latest Spenser novel written by Mike Lupica and is definitely one of the best. For this reader, it was comfortable reading about all the familiar characters (Spenser, Hawk, Susan, Jesse Stone to name a few) and locations with which we are familiar. The story begins with the shooting of Rita Fiore (Spenser’s friend and “go to” attorney) and the search for the one responsible and continues with investigations into murders, missing persons, mob connections, etc. Without giving details, this intriguing novel was impossible for this reader to put down and was read in less than 24 hours.
I highly recommend reading this book and thank NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for the opportunity to read and review this book prior to publication.

I am a SPENSER fan, groupie, fanatic…so, I am delighted to share that this book is Spenser/Parker perfect. Mike Lupica has flawlessly recreated Parker’s voice in this fast paced novel.

Lupica has recruited a band of Spenser buddies to populate this book. I am uncertain if someone who has never been a Parker fan will love this as much as I did.

The catalyst for this case is the shooting and near death of Rita Fiori, the feisty lawyer. Her firm hires Spenser to find the shooter. Of course, he becomes embroiled in a huge case of corruption and bodies begin falling.

He is ably helped by HAWK and Jesse Stone, making a wonderful appearance, (can’t wait for the next Stone novel). Police buddies and dubious members of Spenser’s Boston gang are called upon for help and insights.

Thank you Netgalley for making a Spenser devotee very happy.

Since Robert B. Parker's passing in 2010, his sons have been the caretakers of his estate, finding writers both willing and able to carry his legacy forward. But none has been better at that than Mike Lupica, particularly with his entries in the Spenser oeuvre. "Hot Property" is a deliciously complex novel of double dealing and death. Lupica is in top form here, with a triumvirate of Spenser, Hawk, and even Jesse Stone righting wrongs and finding justice. Another superior effort for all involved.

Lupica's second Spenser sees our hero investigate when high-powered attorney Rita Fiore is shot. Evoking Parker's SMALL VICES (1997) and COLD SERVICE (2005), which saw Spenser and Hawk gunned down respectively, Lupica imperils Rita to shock readers, but also to honor and increase her standing in the Parker canon.

An interviewer once asked Parker's widow Joan how she felt Ace Atkins would fare writing Spenser. She answered that Atkins' voice would become part of Spenser's. She and Putnam didn't wish Atkins leave himself out and strictly mimic Parker. In the same way, Lupica's voice blends better with Spenser's in HOT PROPERTY than in 2023's BROKEN TRUST. HOT PROPERTY benefits, too, from Lupica's time writing Rita's old flame Jesse Stone, as Spenser and Stone call on each other.

Thanks again to Putnam Books for the NetGalley. ROBERT B. PARKER'S HOT PROPERTY goes on sale November 26.
