This was a fun, a flirty story with likeable characters. Loved Amelia's determination and how she went to the lengths she went to protect her nephew and her family. Loved how she was with her nephew, they truly seemed to be friends as well as family and the tales they told oh my...
The laird and his family were fair and just, and we liked the little games he played with Amelia, even knowing she wasn't telling the whole truth in those situations, just brought a smile to our face.
This was a cute read to pass the time, but, something was just missing from it. I liked the characters well enough, just didn't fall in love with any of them, the nephew stole the spotlight really instead of the main characters. I liked Laird Knox and Amelia as a couple but, we just never felt the chemistry between them and that was a shame because they were perfect for one another in every way. Amelia is far from a simpering miss and capable of holding her own with her alpha male laird and the perfect first lady someone capable of ruling beside him someone and someone not a hindrance but, a blessing.
