ARC Review:
I loved the first book in this series so much but somehow I loved this one even more!!!
Jax and Sasha are absolutely perfect 🥺 their relationship seemed to develop so naturally and I loved the kind of mystery element of knowing that Sasha had secrets and seeing her slowly come out of her shell to open up to Jax. It was just lovely!!!

I really enjoyed Jax and Sasha. I loved seeing Indya & west in here too!! Jax and Sasha I love seeing their relationship, the push / pull and I loved seeing Sasha finally open up. 🥺 I love the “tell me a lie” & “tell me a secret” 🥺 she wants to hate Montana so bad, but at the end, it ends up being where she belonged all along 🥰🩷 haven river ranch becomes home for her and her fam 🩷
I love me an accidental pregnancy & this one hit 👏
I really had different thoughts through the book and through out it and when the secret is revealed it was shocking because I didn’t expect it & It actually made me really emotional to finally find out the whole story and put everything together.
Can’t wait for the next one!! I’m interested about them 😍👏

There is something about devney's writing that is so comforting to me. I know accidental pregnancy isn't everyone's favorite trope but this story was truly so good and a story that needed to be told.
It was so much more than the pregnancy. It was a story of growth, acceptance, complicated families, and how everything in life can lead you to the place you were always meant to be.
From the start you could feel the connection between Jax and Sasha. Their meet cute was adorable (hence the song inspiration). The connection was instant, but their relationship was anything but.
One of my favorite tropes is a guy that doesn't have serious relationships but has ZERO hesitation when he meets 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙚. And this was Jax. He was so flirty and such a hot cowboy, but he also had so much he kept inside.. and watching his walls come down for Sasha was everything.
And as she was bringing down his walls, he was patient and tenacious enough to break through hers. I really loved Sasha's character. She was so guarded, and without knowing what happened in her past, I could tell how much strength she had as a result of it. I loved getting small pieces along the way to reveal her secrets.
It is always so refreshing to get real and mature, relationships from Devney.. no unnecessary drama, or miscommunication.. and there's always something relatable.
I really loved this story, and I hope you do too ☀️

I was so happy to be back in Haven River Ranch!!
I am completely convinced Devney Perry can’t write a bad book. Her writing is so incredible and she brings these amazing creative stories to life before my eyes.
Sasha has come to Montana to work for the Ranch and when she runs into Jax for the first time (unknowingly that he’s her “boss-ish”) had me laughing out loud. It was so funny!!! (Oh, Carla🙄🛒)
Despite the chemistry and attraction to one another, as soon as Sasha learns who Jax really is, she puts on this hard exterior and try’s to avoid Jax at all cost. But Jax, his smirks and that stupid freaking cowboy hat finally wear Sasha down and she can’t resist!!
Immediate confusion and regret seep into Sasha’s mind and her walls come up again and she shuts Jax out, until 6 weeks later and positive pregnancy test.
Here me out…I know some people don’t like the accidental pregnancy trope (it’s one my favs🤭) but the way Devney writes it, it’s so well done. While the book does revolve around the pregnancy in an aspect there’s so much more. The character growth for both Jax and Sasha is sooo good! Jax and Sasha both have walls up and they both breakdown those walls so beautifully. The way Jax takes care of her and his Josephine from the beginning is top tier.
I fell in love with these characters, their love and the beautiful family they created and I hope you do too!!💛☀️

I absolutely ADORED this book! The tension, chemistry, & banter between Jax & Sasha was top tier in my opinion. I not only loved their story as a couple but also the drama they were dealing with regarding other people in their lives. I ATE IT RIGHT UP.
It's no secret that this book has the accidental pregnancy trope & I thought Devney did a great job of weaving together the plot, with jumps in time here & there in order to progress from before Jax & Sasha get together, finding out Sasha is pregnant, various stages of pregnancy, & a little bit of after. & that last sentence, just the cherry on top of a FANTASTIC read!
I also need to say — I don't cry very often in books. But I CRIED at two separate parts of this book & they were both scenes with either Jax or Sasha and another character, not them with each other. I think that just shows how well rounded this story was & how well Devney can evoke emotion with her writing.

This was an excellent book!! I enjoyed the character development as well as how the plot was developed throughout the story. The author was able to to do a good job with all aspects of the story. I would recommend to others.

I absolutely LOVED this book. I loved Jax and Sasha so much. I loved how they never gave up on each other even though it definitely would have been easier to do that. I loved the healing journey that both of them went on from the different traumas they had both faced.
I have loved every single one of @devneyperry’s cowboy romances. She just knows exactly what to do. Then you through in an accidental pregnancy (another one of her specialties) and it’s an instant five star for me.
I loved every time we had a scene with “Tell me a lie. Tell me a secret.” It was their way of opening up to each other. When they said “I love you” had my heart melting.
Devney definitely had me guessing with the whole Eddie situation. Let’s just say I loved the way it ended with him!
Thank you, Devney, for an ARC of this special book! I am so excited for everyone to finally get to read it! It’s available on Kindle Unlimited today. 💛

me 🤝🏻 one night stand + accidental pregnancy
this book is soooooo good! I couldn't put it down and I never wanted it to end. Jax and Sasha were so well written and perfect for eachother. I loved their angst, their push and pull, and how they overcame their traumatic pasts to be their best for each other.
I cried from 75% to the end. 10/10.

2.75 rounded to 3.
I was so excited for this book, especially considering how much I loved crossroads but it just fell flat for me unfortunately. It felt rushed in some places and too long winded in others, I think it had really great potential but it just didn't hit the mark for me and I was left wanting more and more intensity and I'm surprised I didn't like it more considering it has some of my favourite tropes.
I did read this in one sitting but more so because I wanted it to end.

They say the heart knows when you meet your soul mate, for Sasha the moment came in the middle of a grocery store. Jax Haven walked into Sasha’s life at a moment when she needed it most. The only issue is his last name.
Is love at first sight actually a ‘thing’? Jax Haven has pondered that age old saying many times since Sasha started working at Haven River Ranch. Nothing about her is ‘ordinary’. No matter how much Jax tries to forget about Sasha, he can’t quite make thoughts of her disappear.
One night….that’s all they would allow themselves. That one night would be all they needed to find their future intertwined in the most unexpected of ways.
Sunlight is the newest release in the Haven River Ranch series by Devney Perry. I will confess that I have read this book several times. The nuances, loneliness and longing in this novel really spoke to my soul. As I was sitting with a loved one in the hospital, I couldn’t help but shed a tear or two at the way Devney takes the simplest plot ideas and makes it speak to your soul in unimaginable ways. I found myself absorbed in the push and pull between Jax and Sasha. Their path to a future filled my heart. I can’t get enough of this couple! Are we sure the rating charts only goes to 5 stars??

Another great read in the Haven River Ranch series! I was hooked immediately and didn’t want to put it down! It was pretty much a one sit read for me! I loved Jax and Sasha! This is one of those reads that you won’t want to end! You will grow super attached to these characters and won’t be ready to let them go. At least that’s how I feel! And the feels I sure did get!! It was like I was there watching the story play out. It was a movie in my mind. If you love small town, work place, accidental pregnancy, cowboy, forced proximity romances this is a must read! I cannot recommend this book enough!

This trope is typically not my favorite unless it’s done well and Devney did it so so good! It didn’t feel cringe at all. I loved Sasha and Jax. I loved how they both were healing for each other and how their relationship developed throughout the book.

this book is so so amazing and this author literally never does me wrong! i will be re reading this and loving it. it’s so romantic and beautiful and fun

“Jax Haven was the type of man who’d move mountains to keep a promise, even if it destroyed us both.”
It’s so good to be back at Haven River Ranch! From their grocery cart meet cute, I knew I was going to love Jax and Sasha’s story. And boy did they put me through the wringer! All the tension and pent up lust with this accidental pregnancy romance had me hot with anticipation.
“Sex was not the reason I’d come to Montana. A fling with a hot cowboy was not why I’d uprooted my life to endure a miserable winter.”
There was a lot of mysteries surrounding Sasha’s past throughout the book, her secrets were closely guarded, and she didn’t let anyone in. But I loved how Jax broke through with his “Tell me a lie, tell me a secret” line of questioning. I laughed at how Jax was so arrogant and cocky in his flirtation with Sasha, but she was having none of it once she realized he was technically her boss at Haven River Ranch. She closed herself off to anything with him, that is until a few glasses of champagne led to a little fun between the sheets and a big surprise neither were ready for or expected! I loved how once Jax’s got over the surprise of having a baby with Sasha, he embraced it. He had to put in a lot of work to get Sasha to let him in, but the payoff was worth it! Overall this story really built the anticipation of uncovering Sasha’s secrets while simultaneously having me fall in love with Jax’s never ending cowboy flirtatious ways!
“He kissed me like he was settling in to kiss me for the rest of my life.”

3.5
Let me start by saying that I had great expectations from Sunlight as I was obsessed with Cross roads, the first book in the series. 💜
So it was a cozy, emotional continuation of the Haven River Ranch series. Devney Perry has a way of building worlds that feel real and familiar, and once again, the ranch setting was a highlight for me. It feels like a place you'd want to visit, and I loved the small-town vibes woven throughout. 🤠💛😍
That being said, while the instant chemistry between Sasha and Jax had its sparks, I struggled a bit with their development as a couple. Jax, in particular, didn’t stand out to me as much as I’d hoped. His character felt a bit underdeveloped in some parts. Sasha, too, felt like she needed more backstory to fully flesh out her personality and motivations. There were moments where I questioned their connection, as their relationship seemed to move forward without a lot of on-page growth. 😐
On the pacing side, I found that it was a bit inconsistent. The timeline of their relationship progressed quickly in some places and then slowed down without much explanation. It made the progression of their romance feel a bit rushed at times, without showing us enough of how they really fell in love. 😖😣
On the positive side, the story had its heartfelt moments. I still enjoyed the atmosphere of the ranch and the dynamic between the supporting characters.
Overall, Sunlight is a sweet, emotional read, but it left me wanting more depth and development from the main characters. If you're a fan of small-town romances with a touch of drama and heart, you’ll still find plenty to enjoy here! 🫶🏼

A Devney Perry book with cowboys and an accidental pregnancy? Sign me up! Loved the tension between Jax and Sasha, and the story was really great. There was so much feeling and passion between those two, and the spice was *chef’s kiss*. Loved this!

I always love a DP audiobook and Sunlight was no exception! I was unexpectedly touched by Jax and Sasha's story. Accidentally pregnancy can be a hit or miss for me but Devney Perry always makes this trope work in the best possible way. I didn't like it quite as much as Crossroads but a solid story and I'd be really excited to see a third book in this series about Jax's best friend!

Sunlight follows Sasha, the new manager of the Ranch and Jax, West’s playboy younger brother.
Prior to her first day, Sasha meets a handsome, funny cowboy while attempting to borrow a grocery cart from the local grocery store. He’s the first person to make her laugh in months but it turns out her mystery man is none other than Jax Haven, well known ladies man and her boss.. sort of. Despite telling herself he’s off limits, their chemistry is off the charts 📈. Can Jax get Sasha to let he guard down and let him in?
Oh how I missed Haven River Ranch! I absolutely loved Crossroads and I had the highest of expectations for Sunlight and boy did Devney deliver! Now I’m not the biggest fan of the surprise pregnancy trope but I felt like it was done very well and while it was a big part of the storyline it wasn’t the ONLY thing Jax and Sasha were working through.
One my favourite things about the Haven River Ranch series is the element of mystery that’s included in each book! That part alone keeps me completely hooked; I had a million and two theories of who Eddie was and I kept changing my mind with each new crumb of info we got throughout the book! Seriously, this whole book had me hooked from start to finish!
Here’s some more of what you can expect from reading Sunlight:
🏔️Cowboy romance
☀️Surprise pregnancy
🏔️Enemies(ish) to lovers
☀️He’s her boss(ish)
🏔️Small town romance (Montana)
☀️Secrets and Mystery

☀️Second book in a series

I absolutely devoured this book. We are back at Haven River Ranch! I highly recommend reading Crossroads prior to this book!
Devney will tug on your heart strings and you will feel ALL the feels. Jax and Sasha have the ultimate meet cute! 🥹😍
I’m not a huge fan of the accidental pregnancy trope - but damn does she write it the best! 👏🏻

5/5⭐️s
Are you kidding me?!🥹
I ate this book up and let me tell you, it has to be one of my favorite Devney books of all time. Sasha and Jax are EVERYTHING. And the ending!😭🤭
This is definitely one of my favorite Devney books I’ve EVER read. This story did something to my heart that I’ll probably never recover from. After Crossroads, I knew Jax’s story was going to be something special. He fell for Sasha so naturally and cared for her and the baby so amazingly.
I loved the subplot and suspense in this story. It added the much needed Devney Perry twist to her books.
I can’t wait for more from this series and this ranch!
