Vanessa Charkour is a skilled writer. She has a way of writing about nature to teach but also create empathy for the living things that she writes about. My favorite parts of this book were focused on conversation and the value of animals in folklore and culture. I would have liked to hear more details about her work with different conservation organizations. I wasn't so interested in the parts about her love life and skimmed through those. I am very curious abut her writing workshops and hope to take one someday.
