This series is your typical bad boy meets the gal of his dreams and what lengths he will go to to get her.

This was so good! It kept me intrigued and I loved every minute of it! This author really knows how to write a story and I can't wait to read more from them!

Oh no guys. The writing for this was absolutely terrible. I don't think I've read through the perspective of a stupider character.

This would have to be my favorite of the series. Here we get to see Kristen’s back story and her evolution into hell with her ex-partner Marty.

This book! Steamy and very much something else. I liked this book and I didn't expect it to be this exciting

The ending did it for me. Something broke when BPD (Borderline personality disorder) was mentioned in the same sentence as an abusive boyfriend. Since I've started studying psychology, I've become hyperaware of how personality disorders are portrayed in media (which includes books). Naturally, when Kristen said Marty was diagnosed with BPD, I got sceptical. Gave the author a chance and kept reading, but obviously it was still nagging at me, which made me enjoy part 2 and 3 less. I basically read part 3 in search of why Marty would be diagnosed with BPD and I'm not convinced. Here's why.

These are the criteria for BPD, according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition:
"BPD is a pervasive pattern of instability in interpersonal relationships, self-image, and emotion, as well as marked impulsivity beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:
1. Frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment
2. A pattern of unstable and intense interpersonal relationships characterized by extremes between idealization and devaluation (also known as "splitting")
3. Identity disturbance: Markedly or persistently unstable self-image or sense of self
4. Impulsive behavior in at least two areas that are potentially self-damaging (e.g., spending, sex, substance abuse, reckless driving, binge eating)
5. Recurrent suicidal behavior, gestures, or threats, or self-harming behavior
6. Emotional instability in reaction to day-to-day events (e.g., intense episodic sadness, irritability, or anxiety usually lasting a few hours and only rarely more than a few days)
7. Chronic feelings of emptiness
8. Inappropriate, intense anger or difficulty controlling anger (e.g., frequent displays of temper, constant anger, recurrent physical fights)
9. Transient, stress-related paranoid ideation or severe dissociative symptoms"

Granted, Marty showed some instability in mood, as well as jealousy (which can be a controlling way to avoid abandonment). But this isn't enough for the diagnosis. Also, his way of acting doesn't seem consistent with a BPD pattern. I don't think someone with BPD who'd have been left alone, would've still had the energy to keep applying for jobs. The feelings of emptiness and abandonment would've been triggered in such a way that he would've fallen into such a deep depression he would've probably tried to commit suicide. Being rejected is one of their biggest fears, which is what Kristen did to them. Also, his idealization of her would've probably stopped and turned into devaluation instead of obsession. Keeping in mind the impulsivity, I don't think Marty would've waited 2 years for Kristen to return, or even be okay with the thought of her having other men before coming back to him. Of course, every person with BPD is different, so it could very well be that Marty has BPD. But I don't like BPD being associated so loosely with an abusive person, who shows up to his exes' apartment with a gun. Representation matters, especially with all the taboo around mental health and its disorders.

Anyway, part 3 was exactly what I expected: misunderstanding about the text from Ariel, surprise pregnancy and the return of Marty. Then I got a bonus extra cheesy ending between Kristen and Vincent, which made me roll my eyes. Come to think of it, I rolled my eyes quite a lot while reading part 3.

Let's put it this way: the book was not for me.

I really enjoyed this book and I really like this author. I read it in one sitting and I look forward to reading more. Thanks Netgalley for the Arc

I did not finish this book. While I appreciate the offer to have the novel., I have stopped reading any romance novels that stray more into erotica.

Good conclusion to the very famous Surrender series. Very apt and fitting! I enjoyed reading it very much.

I really enjoyed the third instalment of this series. I loved the ending with a bang! It was worth getting through the first two.

This is what I’ve been waiting for. More passion, more drama, and more back story.

I’m new to the New Adult genre so I thought books in this category will be just sex-driven and that’s about it. That’s why I really appreciated the author’s decision to open Pandora’s box and unleashed each character’s secrets. I was glad to read more about Kristen’s, Marty’s, and even Vincent’s backgrounds. Though it was just a bit over the place though since there were numerous shifts of point-of-views and past-to-future transitions which can be improved so that the readers will not end up getting confused.

I don’t know if being too fast-paced is the standard but that’s how it is in this series. But I’m also glad to have finally read something other than just love-making scenes. There was a story here. A bit cheesy but it will do.

Overall, it doesn’t have that wow factor and unique plot but I was still hooked reading it in a way. A good pick-me-upper for my reading schlump and a quick read that you can finish in a few hours.

Series ending with all the action. I really wanted to like Kristen, she started off strong and smart but let her feelings for Vincent softened her up. We finally learn about Vincent's past and his sister. Very predictable but nonetheless entertaining.

A little too dramatic for me. It's come to a 2.5 star read, it wasn't a bad book, just not 100% for me.

I have not read this book and do not plan on it as I did not read the first two books fully.

Typical conclusion to what felt like an overplayed trilogy storyline.

This is the third and final book in the Surrender series. Make sure you read the two previous books or you will be lost.

It's hard to write a review for a third book as I don't wanna spoil anything by telling you the storyline. So I'll tell you that I really liked the two main characters. The chemistry between them is so hot. Throw in a psycho ex and I was glued to the story.

My complaint would be the epilogue was just too short. I'm glad I read these when they were all released otherwise I'd be pulling my hair out lol

Beautiful Surrender is the conclusion to the Forever Series. It was a great, suspenseful story. Vincent and Kristin were perfect together, and their chemistry was steamy. I enjoyed it.

I received this from Netgalley

This is the final book in this series.
It starts giving us more details about Kristen's past which is linked to her present.
I don't like Kristen's personality. She jumps to conclusions too quickly and refuses to be helped when the danger is evident.
I tried, I really tried but I found this series quite predictable and boring. The plot is a little bit weak. The only scenes which could be exciting are spoilt because they are too long, dragging on too much.
