*My Sweetest Escape* by Chelsea M. Cameron is a heartfelt and emotional contemporary romance that delves into themes of healing, personal growth, and second chances. The story follows the protagonist, Sadie, a young woman struggling with the emotional aftermath of a traumatic experience. When she meets Levi, a charming and enigmatic musician, their connection sparks something in her that she didn’t expect.

Cameron's writing is engaging, with strong character development and a focus on emotional depth. The chemistry between Sadie and Levi is undeniable, and their evolving relationship feels realistic as they both face their pasts and try to move forward. The novel explores themes of self-discovery, love, and the difficulties of overcoming personal struggles, making it a relatable read for those who enjoy romance with a deeper emotional undercurrent.

While the pacing can be a bit slow in places, the book’s sincerity and emotional pull make it a worthwhile read for fans of contemporary romance with a focus on healing and growth. *My Sweetest Escape* will resonate with readers looking for a moving story of love and recovery.

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This has been waiting for me to read it for like 10 years!! I don't know how it got lost in the shuffle, but since I used to have 1400 books on my kindle, it probably wasn't hard.

I really enjoyed Jos and Dusty's story. These two really tried to fight their attraction for one another for practically the whole book, which was a bit amusing, but also annoying to be honest. They kept secrets about their past from each other, which was also a bit frustrating. And then when they started bringing up their pasts, they both sort of freaked out before everything was out in the open. They are definitely rough around the edges, but I'm hoping that now that they know everything, things can only go up from here.

Renee was seriously so overbearing and controlling, if I were Jos, I would have seriously ran away and started over. I could not handle a person like that in my life and acting like a second mother - only worse. Way worse. I know she was doing what she could to help, but that was way way too much for me to handle.

I love Hannah. I would love to see if she ever got her own book, but if she ended up with who I think she did, I'm not sure it would be a story I'd be interested in. But I love her personality, her view on life, and her no nonsense attitude. She went through something horrendous and yet she is still living her life to the fullest and I just love that about her!

I'm glad I finally got around to reading this novel and I will have to play catch up to read more by this author!
