Never a bad story from Robyn Carr.
Love her writing and always looking for more of her books. She is one author I will reread.

I generally like books about friendships, but this one felt like it had been there done that, read all of this before. I thought there were too many "issues" and not enough depth. I did adore Bob the dog though, so it made me like the book more.

Another spectacular book by amazing author Robyn Carr, I think I've found my all time favorite though. Four Friends just hit me in a way and didn't let go, still now I'm thinking about this book and wanting to tell all my friends about it. This story just resonates with me, I connected to it.

A modern day Peyton Place, Four Friends tells the story of neighbors who are entwined in each others lives and marriages. Mysterious BJ is new to the neighborhood, and Gerri, Andy, and Sonya find her standoffish. Andy ends her 2nd marriage, begins to experience surprising feelings for her contractor, Bob, and learns her son is gay. Gerri has always been assured of her marriage to Phil, but a chance conversation one day clues her in to the fact that Phil had an affair in the past; as a counselor she is not quite certain at first how to help herself. Sonya's husband decided that he has had enough of her metaphysical ways and leaves her, causing her to break down. BJ's story slowly unravels; she is the victim of domestic violence and is in a halfway house as she tries to reclaim her own life.

This is the story of friendships and how they can help us through some of life's hardest moments. I did not dislike the book, but I also did not find it overly stimulating or compelling. A good beach read, perhaps.
