This was an interesting read for me. I felt a lot like I was reading the fan fiction that I read in my youth, but it didn't do much more than those fan fictions I read. I was a little bit disappointed in this story, but it was still worth reading.

Absolutely loved this! The setting of this story and the blending of celebrity plus politics was right up my alley. The characters were so engaging that I was left wanting so much more when this ended. Can't wait to read more from 831.

Deeply personal and engaging memoir that delves into the author’s lifelong obsession with a beloved pop culture phenomenon. Through the lens of fandom, Romanoff explores themes of identity, belonging, and the ways in which the things we love shape who we are. With wit, vulnerability, and a keen eye for detail, she reflects on how her passion provided solace during challenging times and became a cornerstone of her self-discovery.

Big fan of this one!! This is for the boy band fan fiction girlies and it definitely delivered! Such a quick read and I loved the overlap between the music world and the politics world.

Big thanks to Sanjana Basker for sharing this widget with me! I really enjoyed this, and I loved that it was a bit longer than a novella but still a quick read. It was giving The Idea of You meets Scandal, and I live for that kind of drama.

This romance was right up my alley. I loved the look into the political consulting world and loved that the main female character had a thriving personal life. I always love the famous person/normal person trope, although the female main character was somewhat high profile herself. There was a little steam, and I loved the novella length. Highly recommend!

Obsessedddd with this. If someone wrote a romance novel specifically for me, this hits pretty close to perfection. So fun, scratched the romance itch for me so well, and I can't wait to see what comes next from 831 and Romanoff!

BIG FAN, the first novella from @831storieshq, is about a political campaign manager who’s contacted by a former boy bander whose fan club she used to run; he wants her to help him launch his solo career. Based on the premise I thought this would be about the singer’s career, so was delighted to find the book mostly focused on the MC’s political campaigns (and, of course, a lovely love story).

If you loved The Idea of You or enjoy fan fic, this novella is for you! I enjoyed this read very much and it brought back so much nostalgia for the boy bands of my youth.

Big Fan is a perfectly paced and immediately compelling novella. Delicious fanfiction-adjacent story that also touches on what makes teenage fandom it's own sort of magic while also discussing what's like to be a woman in the public eye

4! Big Fan is such an enjoyable and engaging read! Maya is a standout character, balancing the fallout from her ex-husband’s scandal with her determination to rebuild her political career. Things really heat up when her old teenage crush, Charlie, reaches out for help with his solo comeback. Their interactions are both heartwarming and entertaining, with Maya navigating her past while chasing her future.

The mix of political intrigue and personal growth is handled so well, and the humor adds a fun, light touch. I enjoyed the story’s focus on second chances and surprising connections, which makes it a satisfying read. If you love romance and feel-good contemporary fiction, this one’s for you. I can’t wait to see what Alexandra Romanoff writes next!

Thank you to NetGalley, Authors Equity, and 831 Stories.

I really enjoyed reading this novella! The premise is really interesting: a political consultant who went through a public divorce works for her childhood crush and former pop star. The setting is new to me because I don’t read a lot of fiction set in the world of politics, but the parts I enjoyed the most are when Maya is outside of her work. I also loved the chemistry between Maya and Charlie. Despite the short length of the story, I still found the development of their relationship believable.

Thank you to 831 Stories and Netgalley for the eARC! I’m looking forward to reading more stories from the author and publisher!

This book was … fine. Extremely fine. Very short, kept my attention, did what it was supposed to but not in any particularly unique way. I remain puzzled by both the hype and the cover.

Big Fan was a delicious election season romp. While a bit short, this was a satisfying romance read, especially because I love a celebrity/normal person romance!

5 Stars!! Loved this one!! Set in my two favorite cities - Boston and DC - as she connects with her old teenage crush from her favorite boy band?!? Perfect combination. Loved the idea of living out the fan fics I read in high school!! Can't wait for what's next

*Big Fan* is a delightful and engaging read! Maya is a compelling character navigating the fallout from her ex-husband’s scandal while trying to reclaim her political career. When her teenage crush, Charlie, reaches out for help with his solo comeback, things get interesting. Their dynamic is fun and heartwarming, as Maya grapples with her past and her ambitions.

The blend of politics and personal growth is well executed, and the humor keeps the story light. While it occasionally dips into predictable territory, it’s an enjoyable exploration of second chances and unexpected connections. Perfect for fans of romance and light-hearted contemporary fiction! I can't wait to read more from Alexandra Romanoff!!

This book was very entertaining but shorter than I would have liked it to be. It seemed a little rush in the build up but overall enjoyable. I liked the political romance perspective! Unique compared to what is typical. I would recommend as a quick beach read. It was fun to have the celebrity aspect incorporated as well. Definitely an enjoyable reading experience. I would love to see and read more from this publishing agency.

Never one to pass up a celebrity-falls-for-normal-person romance, Big Fan was a delight! Our main character is a political operative who engages her teen boy band crush in supporting her boss' candidacy... and then they engage in much more. The pace was quick, the banter witty, and the characters lovable. Great for anyone who wants to relive the experience of reading or watching The Idea of You for the first time, with some new twists!
