I feel like I went back and forth with whether or not I liked this book. There were definitely parts that I did not like or I thought were unnecessarily long and drawn out. Lorrie and Hunter both have things that haunt them and they are drawn together by chance. I think that the character development was just okay and there were time where I disliked both characters. Overall story was enjoyable and I think I will read the sequel since the story does not provide closure if you just read the first in the series.

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!

Wrecked is a good book. I loved the story and it's been well written. Can I have Hunter though? The book itself has a good twists and turns. I like more of this.

These characters are beautifully broken and going through so much. I loved the friendship they built and was glad at first thet they became more but it did feel off. I am interested to see in future books how they can grow and get through everything together in a healthy way.

Hunter was hot, sexy and fun and while Lorrie was broken and whom I wanted to love and protect, she quickly turned into someone I wouldn't find myself rooting for. I wasn't a fan of the constant back and forth and the mixed signals she was leaving Hunter with.

I had a lot of hope for this book, especially with the way the blurb pulled me in, but, unfortunately, it just didn't work out for me.

I actually like the other book, Reckless, that I read by this author. The writing was not a good in Wrecked. Neither are great but of the two I liked Reckless better.

I haven't met a Priscilla West book I didn't like.
Wrecked is not exception.

Hunter and Lorrie are explosive. Two broken souls who manage to find each other, even when they probably shouldn't.
But sometimes love and fate and life has other plans.

Hunter and Lorrie have learned this the hard way--and the plot twists thrown into this book continue to push them down a difficult path.

I can't wait to read the next one.
This has one heck of an ending!

I have received this book for review.

While this is not the first Priscilla West book I have read, it was probably one of my least liked.
The love felt pushed/ almost reached for rather than fluid. Both characters were more then self deprecating. Also there was just too much tragedy in this young womans life to make her un relatable. “ her drama free year” was anything but that. Hunter is the bad boy and Lorrie was looking for love ( even though she didn’t want it.) I don’t want to say it was a bad book, but much less enjoyable and catching than others by the same author.

If you like an angsty, tortured romance then this is the book for you! Fortunately, I love this type of book and will eat it up like candy!

Both of our main characters are tortured individuals hiding internals demons and their first meeting gets off to an unusual start. Lorrie is a college student who has returned to school after several semesters off after her mother’s murder and father’s suicide. She accidentally falls in an icy lake and is rescued by hot guy Hunter.

Hunter is attracted immediately to Lorrie, but she is not interested in dating, so they agree to be friends. They develop a deep friendship, but it has its ups and downs mostly due to Lorrie’s irrational jealousy of other girls and other external pressures that threaten to blow her world apart. Eventually Lorrie admits her true feelings for him, and they take their relationship to the next level.

Hunter has his own personal problems that he is hiding from Lorrie and they end of majorly impacting their budding relationship. This is an intense, emotionally draining story and some may find it too much. As I said I love the angsty love stories, so it was right up my alley. This was my second time reading, the first was quite a while ago when I received an ARC from Netgalley who I thank very much. I gave it four stars.

I remember reading like 70% of this book in 2013 and remembered absolutely loving it. I couldn't quite remember why I stopped reading and didn't review it. So I started reading, happy to return to Lorrie and Hunter and see their love story unfold again. Like in 2013, I loved the beginning of the book, right up until the crazy 4 day stay-in. I was so fed up with it. I actually wanted to count the pages used just to describe the activity, but I only had enough energy to continue reading. I came close to DNF'ing it. But I powered through! And got more and more disappointed. I don't know why, but I wasn't connected to the story after that four day stay-in. Went through the motions, basically. However, I did feel for Hunter at the end. I did not see /that/ coming! I feel for both of them. I get why both of them acted in the way they did. I wanted to slap both of them and tell them to do stuff differently so they can have their happy ending. Anyway, it's a good book, but I wouldn't have elaborated on that four day stay-in as much, because it got tedious to read after the first few pages.

I'm not much of a YA genre fan but I'm so glad I requested this on Netgalley. This book is quite emotionally draining for me. Both the main characters are broken and I find that they could have resolved many issues had they communicated. With both seriously damage and broken lives how can they work? Ms West wrote a book that will leave you wrecked and raw.

Loved this raw and open romance! Priscilla West has been and will continue to be one of my favorite authors

Good story, good characterization and a very good setup of a nice series. I enjoyed reading it very much, just like other Priscilla West.

This book is what I would classify as a beach read. A book you don’t have to pay much attention to. All in all it was an ok read.

Overall an this book is what i would call a beach/pool read. It was just enough to keep me reading. Something you dont have to pay too much attention too. It was ok but not great.

No matter what everyone say and think about this book, I think we can all agree that it’s hard to put it down. It took me a whole day to finish this and I barely even moved from my seat. Yes, it’s filled with drama and all the cheesy-sexy details combined but sometimes, we just had to admit that we like it.

I’ve been a difficult reader to please. The younger version of me would’ve swooned over any love stories I’ve read but as I grew older, I tend to look for depth and avoid stories with insta-love. I thought it was ridiculous and too good to be true. But now that I’m reading more novels in the romantic side, I tend to appreciate the escape it gives me—the thrill and excitement—because sometimes that’s all we need.

Wrecked is totally different from the first Priscilla West trilogy I’ve read. This was more climactic—it has frustratingly long build-ups which I excruciatingly enjoyed (surprisingly). The romance was more realistic in terms of pace but somehow immature which I think still happens no matter how people say they are otherwise. The characters are truly interesting. There’s something brokenly beautiful about Hunter and I think he sees it, too, with Lorrie (I wish she had a different name though).

Though I have to point out that there are some details or scenes that just prolonged the story and the agony which we can do away with. I’m not going to the specifics to avoid spoiling things but I hope the author can avoid that next time. I get it she wants the reader also to develop that longing pain of getting impatient—because she needed to build excitement and climax—but we get the drift already. She was able to achieve it. I got to hand her that but those fillers eventually felt draggy. There were also some passion-filled scenes that I had a hard time imagining or I got confused. I don’t know if it’s just me.

Overall, it was a book I enjoyed yet again. There’s room for improvement which I look forward to the next.

* For Netgalley

This book had me stumped at many points and came off totally unexpected. The story of a MMA fighter and a woman who has seen so much tragedy, I was hooked right from the start and kept thinking I knew what would happen next but it never did! Very good material!

this was anew read for me. Had a woman who had been burned by a complication at college and it was blown up all over the campus and made her a focus of interest in a bad way. She is Now trying to get back to a notrmal life and back at school.
Our guy is the The College Guy... popular and is a MMA Fighter... so with these two getting together... she cannot hide...There is a fast read and then a clffy

This was an alright read. I enjoyed it, but I thought it could have been way better. The storyline was just okay for me. Nothing really big hit me. Also, I thought Lorrie was an okay character. I could not really relate to her. However, I did truly love Hunter. He was the reason for me continuing to read this book. The ending could have been better. I thought it was a bit predictable. I will continue the series to see if these characters get their HEA and what is in store after their story ends and the new characters story begins. Overall, an okay read.
