This is the third book in Erin's Ex Hex Series. I wish I would have read the previous two first but I have been so slammed I didn't have time. I do think I will go back soon and read them. This book follows another Penhallow brother, in this book he is trying to find ancient magic items and stumbles upon Tamsyn.

This is a human, witch relationship which I found to be interesting. There is the element of time travel sort of which I have not read much of before. In the beginning of their work relationship Tamsyn was pretty against mixing work with pleasure but that changes obviously lol. This book did have some spicy scenes which was a plus.

Overall, this was a good read. I read some reviews of others and they said they liked the first two more. So I plan to give them both a read so I can have better insight on this.

This is the third book in the Ex Hex series, but you don't need to read the previous two to enjoy this one! Bowen Penhallow is a recluse mountain man of a witch who lives in Wales, and who occasionally hires Tamsen, a human artifact & antique dealer. They both attend a wedding in a haunted castle with ulterior motives in mind, but find they have somehow time traveled back to 1957. They must find a way to make it back to the present without altering the future.

I think this was my first crossover Halloween / Christmas book. It was such a fun and spicy Yule time read with witchy things being done on the side. Tamsen & Bowen had great chemistry and banter throughout the book. The side characters were also delightful, especially Emerald. The story turns into a time traveling mystery with fake marriage & instalove but I thought it was a magically entertaining read for this time of the year.

Thank you NetGalley, Avon and Harper Voyager, and the author for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book! I've read all the books in this series and this one did not disappoint. I loved Bowen's story! How he fell first and thebtime travel! A great read!

I forgot how quirky this series is.

The last book in the series follow the recluse Penhallow brother, Bowen who hired Tamsyn, the magical acquirer. They were thrown back together in time and need to work together to solve the mystery and get back in their own time.

We started the book with them meeting together and then time jump as they work together. I wished we saw their history together as that seems lacking so I was shocked at around 40% when Bowen realized he loves Tamsyn. There's some sparks, but I felt like it was still lacking because they already have history together which we didn't see.

I love the time travel aspect of it, as it was also interesting to see the dynamics of witches back in time. This book was set in Christmas time which I think would've been a better setting if I read this in December.

The banter was funny but too much quirky imo and I cringed a lot which I think I am not in the mood to read, so that's on me. Still sad to see this series end and I am gonna miss the characters.

Such a fun Halloween - Christmas crossover read!
This was a fun addition to Erin Sterling’s witchy realm of books! I personally loved that Bowen was different than his brothers and Tamsyn was the perfect dose of quirky! Overall a fast read (I couldn’t put it down) and a fun storyline with a twist you don’t see coming!

Bowen Penhollow is a witch from a powerful family who is gruffly, quiet and mostly keeps to himself. Tamsyn is a human who works for witches and now exclusively for Bowen gathering magical items or artifacts. When she decides to take one last job she gets caught up in something unexpected at the witch wedding event of the year and runs into Bowen unexpectedly.

I’ve really enjoyed this series of witchy books and loved seeing Bowen get his story. I enjoyed the banter between Tamsyn and Bowen and liked them together. There’s time travel, ghosts, witches and some steam. I would prefer things to have an explanation in the end but this was a fun, quick read to end the series.

3.5 🌟

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝑰𝑮 𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅: 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒐𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒂 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝑩𝒐𝒐𝒌! 🎄✨

Why? Well, it takes place during December, and they have something important to do by the 24th. They celebrate Yule, which is like witchy Christmas, so this is definitely a perfect read for the holidays.

I won’t lie, I’m rounding up because the last 25% had me reading so FAST and the spice scenes were delicious! But, the book was super confusing at first—the world-building was fine, but the intro to the plot and where it was going? I was like, what the heck is happening? You get a lot of loose threads that, yes it's all tied up at the end but super rapid fire.. which is not my style if im honest.

Once you grasp what’s going on, though, it picks up and by that time you'll want to stick around to see what happens at the end!

ᴛʜɪɴɢs ɪ ʟɪᴋᴇᴅ:
🖤spicy scenes (they saved the book tbh)
🖤the grumpy mmc
🖤easy plot (even if there were many subplots)
🖤short book

I recommend this book to anyone that want a witchy vibe inside a Holiday book!

"The Wedding Witch" by Erin Sterling is an absolute delight, blending witchy magic, time-travel adventures, and a high-chemistry romance that will keep readers thoroughly entertained. Bowen Penhallow, a brooding sorcerer with a penchant for studying dark magic in solitude, finds himself roped into attending a Yuletide wedding at Tywyll House—a grand estate in Wales—thanks to his ghostly friend Declan. Meanwhile, Tamsyn Bligh, a savvy seller of magical artifacts (and human), has her own reasons for attending the "Witchy Wedding of the Century." When an accidental spell sends the pair back to 1957, the plot thickens as they navigate the haunted estate’s mysterious past, their undeniable chemistry, and, of course, witches and ghosts.

This book is hands down my favorite of the series! The chemistry between Bowen and Tamsyn is off the charts, and their witty banter had me laughing throughout. Bowen’s sassy, brooding personality is the perfect foil for Tamsyn’s clever, somewhat morally flexible charm, and their interactions practically sparkle. The time-travel element adds an exciting twist to the already magical atmosphere, making their journey both adventurous and romantic. The setting in Tywyll House is a true standout—Sterling does an amazing job of creating cozy ambiance with roaring fires, festive bonfires, and even a few gin cocktails to set the perfect fall mood.

Whether you’re drawn to the magical world, the ghostly mysteries, or the sizzling tension between Bowen and Tamsyn, "The Wedding Witch" has something for every reader. It’s lighthearted, fun, and spooky in just the right way for a holiday read, and with witches, time-travel, and an unforgettable romance, it’s the perfect way to escape into a magical adventure.

Thank you to Avon and Harper Voyager and Netgalley for this arc! I love this fun witchy series so much!

I think this one was the craziest one yet! We have…
✨a welsh mountain man(witch)
✨a quirky american procurer of magical items
✨a spooky wedding in a spooky mansion
✨a time jump (WHAT?)
✨unstable magic

This one has a slower start for me than the others, but once I got invested I was so here for this little grumpyxsunshine duo.

We get a little bit of cameos from Vivi and Rhys and Gwyn and Wells, but this is definitely all about Bowen and Tamsyn.

I assume this was her last book in this series since all the brothers got their HEA! But can’t wait to see what else the author comes up with!

The Wedding Witch is the third in a witchy holiday trilogy that started with the Ex Hex. Unlike the first two novels centered on Halloween, the Wedding Witch takes you to a haunted castle on the cusp of a wedding during Yule.

Grumpy Penhallow brother Bowen hires artifact hunter Tamsyn. Unknowingly they both end up in similar circumstances.

Part romance, mystery, adventure and holiday... made for quite a bit of fun!

Thank you to Netgalley, Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC.

i’ll tell you what, is a brutish welsh man doesn’t immediately fall in love with me over a mixed drink made primarily with red 40 I am going to personally call call Erin Sterling to have words.

This book had everything:
- hot welsh men whispering sweet nothings in welsh
-magic and more magic
- unlocking new kinks on the daily
- a magical bathtub (see point 2 and 3)

I absolutely loved this story and it feels like the perfect cozy christmas read.

So it turns out I love the name Bowen…who knew?!

That’s about all I loved about this book, unfortunately. I think maybe I’m not a super Halloween/Christmas themed book gal? I think maybe the theme has to be more subtle. So if you are…this may be for you! I hope so! The cover is so cute! Bowen! Penhallow!

I just couldn’t. The Ex Hex Trilogy just wasn’t for me, and I just felt like we got thrown into an insta-love trope and it was forced.

Releases October 15, 2024!

BOOK REVIEW: The Wedding Witch by Erin Sterling

"Because I meant what I said back in 1957, I've been in love with you since that first night."

From the very beginning we could tell that Bowen was down bad for our girl T and there is absolutely NOTHING better than a hot bearded grumpy mountain man pining for the petite sunshine mfc!! Their chemistry together is electric & instant and their banter is amazing if slightly unhinged at times. However I do wish we had gotten some more build-up and more in person interactions leading up to them falling in love. We went from 0 to 500 very fast!

Overall, The Wedding Witch was a quick and cozy witchy read - PERFECT for the fall season. I highly suggest getting cozied up on the couch with a hot drink and reading the entire series!

What to expect:
forced proximity
grumpy x sunshine
time traveling

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice rating: 🌶️

📚 Read if you like: only one bed, forced proximity, spicy books, holiday romance, time travel, witches

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in The Ex Hex series and was SO excited to be approved for the eARC for the third book! It follows the grumpy loner brother Bowen and y’all know I love a grump! It’s a witchy holiday romance (it’s Yule, not Christmas because witches and magic) and perfect for the ‘Ber months.

I like that this one was not set in Graves Glen (for the most part) so we got to see more of the magical world. Plus the time travel element was cool and I always love when the main characters are just dropped in a completely unexpected situation together and they have to figure a way out together.

Bowen and Tamsyn were so good together! They challenge each other and support each other, plus the banter is so laugh out loud funny! Their chemistry together was immediate but because she works “for” him, they try to keep their distance. That is until they’re thrust back in time and into the same bed - they may keep their “distance” but they just can’t keep their hands off themselves 😉. And that scene in the bath?! 🥵

Highly recommend this to contemporary romance readers, especially if you’ve enjoyed the other books in the series or anything witchy. Such a fun conclusion to the series and I can’t wait to see (and read!) whatever Erin Sterling writes next!

Thank you to @netgalley and @avon and @harpercollins for the free eARC in exchange for my honest opinion. Out tomorrow - 10/8!

I really enjoyed this witchy romcom/mystery! I liked The Ex Hex and The Kiss Curse enough to know that I wouldn’t hate this book at least, but I think it might have been my favorite so far!

This book focuses on Tamsyn (who we remember from The Ex Hex) and Bowen. It’s a grumpy sunshine/fake marriage/only one bed combo/medium burn that takes place around Yule. The main characters are tasked with solving a mystery that leads them to some unsuspected places, and forces them to acknowledge their feelings for each other! I really liked the mystery aspect of this one, and the romance was great! The spice was just enough to scratch that itch without detracting from the actual story. I did think the slow burn moved a little too fast to really be slow burn, but all in all it was enjoyable!

This would make the perfect Christmas time read and I highly suggest adding to your December TBR!

In the third installment of The Ex Hex series, Bowen Penhallow and his artifact finder Tamsyn find themselves traveling back in time.

I adored this series so much. The Kiss Curse was one of my favorite reads a couple of years ago. This one I enjoyed, just not as much as the others. Bowen has all the grumpy, caveman feel to him while Tamsyn is quirky and outgoing. They are literally opposites of each other. You can see early on that they would really work together. The concept of the time travel was fun. I did really like that she had the characters interact with others before they end up back in time. This gave you a chance to see the younger versions of them and see how they've changed.

All in all, this was a cute witch romcom!

Thank you to the author and publisher for the gifted copy!

The Wedding Witch by Erin Sterling is the third in the Ex Hex series, and they just seem to keep getting better and better! This one was definitely my fave. We follow the third Penhallow brother, Bowen, and professional procurer of magical items extraordinaire, Tamsyn Bligh, as they search for important artifacts. Lead by their individual motivations, their paths end up crossing in a very crazy and hexy way. Forced to work together to get back to their lives, the tension between these two is palpable! Bowen may be my favorite Penhallow brother. He is kind, smart, and determined! Tamsyn is fun and witty, and even without magic, she's a force to reckon with. They are a great match!
Thank you, Avon and Harper Voyager and NetGalley, for early access to read The Wedding Witch in exchange for an honest review. We're out of Penhallow brother... are we moving to cousins next? There's a next right??

Bowen spends his days studying magic in his Welsh countryside home. Searching for a magical artifact to help his best friend (who also happens to be a ghost); he hires Tamysn to begin procuring items for him.

Tamsyn is a spitfire. A woman who aquires and sells magical goods, she agrees to take on Bowen as a client. And ONLY as a client. But, when an invitation to a wedding ends in a rainy run through a maze, a magical brooch and time traveling, Bowen might just become more than a client to her.

The setting in this book had me cozied up on the couch. The ambiance, roaring fires, gin cocktails and spooky settings made this book perfect for fall. And the banter between our two main characters?! Unmatched.

Bowen and Tamsyn are such a fun couple. Their chemistry together is instant and electric. I wish we had gotten a bit more of a backstory on Tamsyn, but overall I really loved her character. She was sassy and unapologetically herself. Together they felt like the grumpy x sunshine trope, and I was living for it.

Tamsyn Bligh, may not be a witch, but she works for one! Acquiring magical artefacts has always been her business until she is hired to make acquisitions for one witch in particular, the grumpy Bowen Penhallow. What starts off as a job turns into something more a year later when Tamsyn takes a secret side job procuring a broach during a Yule wedding weekend and runs into Bowen who is at the wedding at the behest of his ghost best friend.

This was the perfect cozy holiday-esque novel with the witchy vibes for autumn even if it takes place during Yule. It felt like the comfort read I really needed after being in a bit of a reading slump. Providing me with the perfect forbidden 'am I actually in love with my employeer' after we have been sent back in time and are pretending to be newlyweds vibes. And Sterling brought some spice which I am always here for. Can I have a grump mountain man Welsh Witch in a magical bathtub please and thank you? It would be the perfect gift that would just keep on giving!

I love how Bowen truly saw Tamsyn. How much he respected her expertise even though she did not have magic. And how he was gone for her from the moment they first met even more so after the mistletoe. And I loved Tamsyn's inner and often outer dialogue. It cracked me up. They were such a cute pairing and I truly enjoyed their chemistry.

I really enjoyed the side characters, glimpsing the sibling couples in what little way we did, makes me look forward to going back to the beginning of the series and reading it. I loved Lowri and Emerald and how Bowen and Tamsyn realized they needed to and accepted their attempt to help in order to get back to 2024. And even if it broke my heart a little for Bowen to get to meet the grandparents he never had the chance to in his timeline, it felt cathartic to have him get to know them even if it was briefly. And I loved how powerful Elspeth was and how she owned that power.

I’m totally captivated by another bewitching romance featuring one of the charming Penhallow brothers, taking us on a quick trip to the Graves Glen universe! This book is particularly special with its haunted house theme that intertwines elements of "Back to the Future," "The Time Machine," and "Doctor Who," as it involves rewriting the past to save lives in the future.

This story focuses on the quirky Penhallow brother, Bowen, with his perfect beard. He hires the best acquirer for tracking down magical items: the breathtaking, free-spirited Tamsyn Bligh. Despite a past incident involving Tamsyn's brother, Rhys, that nearly endangered Rhys and Vivienne with a cursed candle, Bowen decides to work with her. Even though their mistletoe kiss left him muddled and Tamsyn admitted she couldn’t mix business with pleasure, they remain reluctant coworkers, searching for magical artifacts together.

During Christmas, while Bowen is spending the holidays with the large Penhallow clan in Graves Glen, Tamsyn gets lonely and looks for extra work. She stumbles upon a strikingly alluring job offer that pays $1 million, which could relieve her financial worries and allow her to quit her job for good.

Her job requires her to attend a wedding at the foreboding, gothic, and eerie Trywxyll House to find a very valuable piece of jewelry for her secret client. However, she doesn’t know that Bowen will also be attending the wedding at the request of his longtime school friend, Declan. The catch is that Declan is dead, and his ghost wants to reconnect with his ex-fiancée, who is about to marry someone else at this wedding.

The two meet at the eerie estate and decide to combine their powers to find the magical artifact. What they didn’t expect is to be targeted by powerful magic that transports them back to 1957, to the same eerie house but free of ghosts. There, they meet the house's ancestors and uncover the big secrets that haunt the place. Can they find a way to set things right and return to the present without altering future events? As their attraction grows stronger with each moment, they must navigate their feelings and the web of secrets they need to unravel.

Overall, I adore this series! This book is an absolutely entertaining, magical, high-chemistry, witchy time travel experience that I highly recommend. I’m eagerly looking forward to reading more books in the series, whenever the author is ready to take us on another journey into Graves Glen.
